We're serious.

Honestly? We wanted to do something dumb. Like making an announcement post where people comment cow for the lulz. Because why not? But in the process of talking about doing this dumb thing, it morphed into something else entirely. Now we're doing dumb shit to do some good in the world. 

Devshard wanted to make a stupid announcement post to blow off steam. The Rise Community also thought it was stupid. But he was insistent. So they decided to start pledging money for cow comments. And that sounded like a thing you do for charity. Which is how this unholy abomination of an idea was born. 

We decided to support Doctors Without Borders. The pandemic hasn't exactly been peachy for any of us. But we live in fairly comfortable parts of the world where we can chill inside our fairly comfortable homes and shitpost on the internet. There are parts of the world where it isn't that nice on a regular basis. Let alone during the Pandemic. Doctors Without Borders has been helping by setting up temporary COVID hospitals, ICUs, sending trained physicans and nurses to the places in the world that need them the most, making sure there's PPE for the healthcare personnel in those areas, and generally providing humanitarian+medical support. Good people, basically. They're also trying to get logistics worked out for vaccinating as many people as possible in the underdeveloped parts of the world. The TL;DR of it is that this is a good organization doing good things around the world where they're needed the most. We're helping them out. We also did some research into the org to make sure they didn't just pocket the money for "administrative fees".

Anyways. Here's how this works. You guys comment cow on this post. That's it. You can say other stuff if you want. But you gotta have a "cow" in it. And only one "cow" comment per person will count.

We have a bunch of people in the Rise Community who have stepped up to pledge $1 for every 10 cow comments. And we'll also be doing the $1 for every 10 cow comments thing too. We were planning on including their names on this post, but we didn't ask if that was okay. So once we get that ironed out, we'll edit this to include their name (if they want to be included). 

And a couple of our translator buddies also decided they wanted to jump into this ridiculous do-gooding. We got:

Just some basic rules: 

1.) Only 1 cow comment per person will be counted. You can say other stuff and have fun here. But don't go insane with the spamming.
2.) We are capping everyone at a maximum donation of $100. Just a safeguard against something insane happening. We don't have $50,000 to donate to charity, and we're not about to run around asking everyone else to sell their homes or start an OnlyFans to meet the pledge.
3.) I dunno. Use common sense, basic human decency, don't be a doucheknuckle.
