Hi all, so the last post in our 9-long series of posts 🙂 will be a collab post with The Prodigies’ War (link), which I’ve been binging recently.

The Prodigies’ War is written by Xiao Jinyu, same writer as First Immortal of the Sword and Talisman Emperor. I must admit, I read FIOTS too, and the vibes are so far apart I honestly couldn’t tell they’re from the same author! It's a cultivation novel with the core conflict around the rivalry among the younger generation, as well as the MC’s struggles to raise up his fallen noble house.

The MC also practices runecrafting as a side profession, which immediately reminded me of another of my Wuxiaworld favorites, City of Sin.

I've always enjoyed a fun side profession. It adds another layer to the usual cultivation progression, so the story isn't just about getting stronger through fighting. It also creates different avenues for growth and social status, letting the MC stand out for more than just raw strength instead of becoming yet another Brute No.631.

Raising a noble house are also good side-quests, since the problems usually aren’t resolvable by beating up someone, and some problem solving is needed.
