Dylin the Pizza Intro

Hey, Dylin the Pizza here. I'm that random hooligan that writes those unnecessarily long TLNs at the end of every chapter and I also happen to be one of the co-translators of Cult Leader in the Clergy Academy.

So… How did I end up here? Well, basically I was like a piece of driftwood floating in the sea. I had no clear goal, or dreams, or motivations, or anything really. After all, I’m the type of person to think of everything in terms of loss or gain. But maybe I just wanted to follow my heart for once and do something for the heck of it. I guess you could say I started translating because of a gut feeling, or a hunch.

But strangely enough when I translated, it felt therapeutic. There’s just something inexplicably enjoyable about putting words on paper. Just like writing, translating feels like an art. It’s the art of understanding the author’s perspective, and then delivering your best interpretation of that perspective.

My translation skills might still be lacking in many areas, but I’ll try my best to deliver to you all what the author wanted to deliver with the Cult Leader of the Clergy Academy. Ah, and let’s not forget Slumber, our trusty editor. Without her, the translation would be riddled with all sorts of strange and funky errors. And also, Yojj who oversees this entire project with her warm guiding hand, and Won Suk who introduced me to Wuxia World. And then there’s Retired Penguin with his ax… I fear no man, but that ax… Scares me.

Wonsuk’s Intro

Hi, guys.

My name is Won Suk, and I’m one of the two translators working on Cult Leader in the Clergy Academy. I’ve loved fantasy novels since I was a kid, and I got into anime pretty quickly after learning about the art (if you’d call it that lol). Naturally, my interest spread to the area of manga and webtoons, as well as some light novels, and I’ve spent many late nights binge-watching and reading my favorite stories from start to finish.

I’ve always been intrigued by stories; how different patterns that we see in stories that are written and told really help us understand the different characters and make us think about what the meaning of life is. One day, I want to maybe write a story of my own about a relatable character that shows what life means to me.

And here I am now! Getting the chance to translate a Korean web novel for an English-speaking audience is something I never imagined getting the opportunity to do. I'm happy to be able to use my language skills to do something related to what I’ve liked throughout my life!

I would like to thank a fellow translator Hedgie for letting me know about Wuxiaworld, and my co-translator for the novel, Dylin the Pizza, for being the awesome partner he is. Of course, my editors, Slumber, Yoji, and Retired Penguin, for all the tips and edits to make the chapters as crisp as they are.
