Alright guys,

So the crossover writing contest results came out last week and I have to say, never did I think that a BL crossover would win the highest vote. This was definitely a turn off the beaten path that I completely did not foresee at all. So it got me thinking. 

I've watched dramas from all of the above at some point and feel like I can map Star Gate into any one of these. Here are my thoughts and I wanted to share this in a post as opposed to the usual translator thought so that everyone could participate.

Boy's Love

We had the loverboy story between Li Hao and Fang Ping in the winning entry of the contest. If I limit it to just Star Gate itself though, the obvious choice would be Li Hao and Void. Some other characters already ship them together lol.

I think other likely suspects could be Yuan Shuo and Hou Xiaochen. I can definitely see an enemies to friends trope there as well. They spend so much time dissing each other that maybe it hides some raging emotion underneath? ;)

Bridgerton series

Ahhh, if Chinese period dramas were set in a quasi-Victorian England background, we'd get Bridgerton. I absolutely love the lush sets and costumes, and the dynamic family that is the titular cast. I'd probably assign either the New Martial crew or Silver Moon martial masters to this series. 

Supreme Zhang would be Anthony Bridgerton, not Fang Ping lol. He'd be Benedict. Or maybe Colin. The Sun God and his flowery yoga pants might be a better Benedict. We don't see much of the New Martial ladies in SG though, can anyone WMBA readers chime in?

Likewise, Li Hao would not be Anthony Bridgerton, he's definitely Colin. He just wants to travel around and see the world, screw responsibility lol. I think some of the old guys would be a combined head of the household. Think Hou Xiaochen, Deputy Zhou, Hong Yitang... Meanwhile, Gan Wuliang might be uhhh... butler of the household? Lol.

Game of Thrones

Honestly, I'm pegging any of Li Hao's schemes as a Red Wedding scene. Maybe the time when he took over the City of Supernaturals, remember how he slaughtered all their high ranking supernaturals with all of them completely unaware? Or perhaps events in Dragon Region would be a good stand-in as well. I definitely see Lin Hongyu as the mother of dragons, not the queen of the west.

And true to Chinese web novel ending style, let's forget the last season of the series? XDD

These were my late night musings that suddenly struck me. XD I'd love to here your thoughts or what series you can picture SG in!
