Hey everyone, I compiled a huge list of recommended "dark wuxia" films (over 50 movies). Considering how many of us are in lockdown now, I figured I would share the list. Check it out here. 

To elaborate a bit, this list of films comes from the upcoming wuxia TTRPG that I co-authored, Righteous Blood, Ruthless Blades. The game is being billed as "dark wuxia", primarily because of the gritty, bloody and brutal combat system, the eccentric and ruthless characters, and the general adult theme of the game (for more info on the game you can click the link above and just navigate the site). 

Please take note that both the game and the movies I'm recommending are true wuxia, not cultivation (xianxia/xuanhuan). Some of the movies on the list are decades old, so if you are primarily looking for special effects and modern film aesthetics, forget those and stick with the films from 2000 and later. The links primarily lead to Amazon, and most of the movies can be viewed for free with Amazon Prime, but I'm sure you could find them via other means as well.
