I dear reader wrote to me, asking if it's true that Chinese and Japanese are very similar. 

Well, it's a complicated topic, but my short answer is no.

At first, I wanted to write something down to explain some of the major differences, and similarities too of course. However, I came across this short video when I was doing my researches.
