On another note, I'd like to briefly introduce you to Madam Deathblade. She is my lovely wife, a native of Hebei Province, who speaks excellent standard Mandarin and also has amazing English. Her main role is to help with parts of the translation I'm confused about. Often there are expressions or sentence structures that I don't quite understand at first. And sometimes authors make up their own expressions or employ word play which goes over my head. While I could study these parts closely, baidu/google it, comb through dictionaries, etc., it's much faster to just ask her for an explanation. Furthermore, something quite frustrating about written Chinese is its lack of grammar rules. Er Gen doesn't use periods within his paragraphs, only commas, so sometimes it's difficult for me to determine where one thought ends and another begins. With Madam Deathblade's help, I can achieve greater speed. If any of you followed my previous translations on SPCNET, you know that I used to translate one chapter a week. Now I'm doing one per day (excluding weekends), which is quite an increase. So, much thanks to her for helping bring you quality translations at a (relatively) high rate of speed.
