After a lot of consideration, I’ve decided to make a big change to ISSTH.

This recent special 5-chapter release will be the final sponsored chapters for ISSTH. Starting immediately, there will be no more sponsored chapters. That doesn’t mean the number of chapters will be reduced. It just means that ALL chapters will be free. It’s a big, and somewhat scary, decision. I won’t go into all the nitty gritty details of why I’m doing this. Chalk it up to the flexibility it will give me in releasing chapters, the development of the Chinese webnovel translation industry as a whole, as well as some exciting changes that are around the corner for wuxiaworld.

I would like to also take this opportunity to offer my profound and heartfelt thanks to everyone who sponsored chapters for the first half of ISSTH. Not only did you keep me motivated, you helped with everything from the bills incurred when Baby Deathblade was born to the food that gets put on the dinner table at night. Thank you very, very much!

For those of you who would like to continue to directly support me and the translation, which would be greatly appreciated, you can do so through Patreon. It’s a website that allows you to become my patron (I feel kind of like Kvothe from Kingkiller Chronicles when I say that), by setting up a recurring donation of whatever amount you wish. To make things fun, the patrons are organized into the “Heaven Sealing Sect,” which will be listed in a sidebar on ISSTH pages of wuxiaworld. That sidebar will be updated on a monthly basis, and is already live (just look to your right).

Coupled with this change is some further news. Many of you probably remember that I started the process of quitting my old job to focus completely on translating. That process is finally wrapping up, which means translating will now be my sole full-time job. I’ll maintain a good relationship with my old company (in China, relationships are everything), and will occasionally do consulting work with them. However, going forward, my job is translating ISSTH (and whatever else I pick up as ISSTH wraps up and ends).

Another quick note. Up to this point in ISSTH, I have spend quite a bit of thought and energy on the weekday chapter release posts. Going forward, I will still post interesting things, but probably not as often. I would prefer to devote that time and energy to translating. When inspiration hits, I will post something. If not, then the release posts will be more simplistic. For things like pictures and random thoughts, I will rely on twitter more.
