I was doing some research and came across some info that I can't believe I didn't uncover sooner. This pertains to one of Meng Hao's powerful abilities that actually comes from one of Er Gen's other novels, Beseech the Devil. Long story short is that the Seven God Steps share almost the exact same name as an ability used by Su Ming, the MC of Beseech the Devil. If you remember, Meng Hao got the move from someone named Su Yan, who has the same surname as Su Ming. I think it would be safe to assume that she is a descendant of or at least connected to Su Ming, in much the same way that the Wang Clan seems to be connected to Wang Lin somehow.
