If you enjoy The Art of Chaotic Divinity, you should check out World's No.1 Swordsman!

Hello ACD readers, Rage and I are doing a collab for the ongoing event of cross-promoting each other’s novels!

World’s No. 1 Swordsman follows Wang Sheng, who gets a second chance at life and tries to change his fate before a massive turning point changes everything around him. One quote from the novel, “before soaring through the clouds, you first carry water and grind wheat,” honestly describes the story pretty well. Even with the "second chance" aspect, the novel doesn’t instantly make Wang Sheng some untouchable monster. You actually get to see him slowly build himself up step by step before reaching higher.

The novel also shares quite a few similarities with our ACD, which is probably why I got hooked on it pretty quickly. There’s progression, steady growth, revenge when people push the MC too far, occasional plot armor moments, and of course, an author who enjoys describing female characters as ridiculously beautiful ;)

That said, the overall vibe is still pretty different from ACD. World’s No. 1 Swordsman has a more modern setting and leans much harder into comedy and slice-of-life moments. The author is cheeky af sometimes. There are random funny moments in almost every chapter, and the character interactions feel really casual and entertaining instead of nonstop serious cultivation business all the time.

Another thing I appreciated was how easy the novel is to read. The pacing feels steady, the early timeskip helps move things along nicely, and Rage’s translator notes are genuinely enjoyable.

Without spoiling too much, the slice-of-life parts with the trio are probably some of my favorite sections so far. Wang Sheng’s parents are also unexpectedly funny and supportive, especially in contrast to our dear Ling Feng’s parents ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Also, the comment section can be hilarious sometimes!

Overall, if you want something with cultivation, rebirth, progression, comedy, and a more relaxed vibe between the serious moments, it’s definitely worth trying out!
