Chapter 9 - Request to Change Classes

Everyone was in an uproar, but none were as surprised at this information as was the homeroom teacher, Liu Letian.

Now that Han Wu had won a battle against a Demigod, even if it was only against a small portion of the Demigod’s forces, it was now clear as day that Han Wu was undeniably strong. If he continued to develop at even just a normal pace, he would already be a top student.

However, if he put in effort into his development, then even the most prestigious colleges would welcome him. Liu Letian had begun salivating over the thought of such a possibility. He had internally already switched sides. After all, he would get rewarded for the successes of his students by the school. But if Han Wu switched classes, Liu Letian’s reward would be gone too! How could he allow such a golden opportunity to leave his grasp?

Liu Letian began to panic after this realization. Acting as kind as he could, he began to implore Han Wu to change his mind. “Han Wu, I… I apologize. I admit that I have not been taking care of you as well as you deserve. To rectify this, in the future you will get the utmost priority in resource allocation. I swear to guide you personally so that you can become more powerful. Please reconsider your decision!”

Clearly, Liu Letian was sparing no expense in attempting to retain one of his top students.

However, Han Wu was not easily swayed. It would take more than a belated apology to change his mind. After all, how could he so easily betray the suffering that the original owner of his body went through while Liu Letian simply watched? That being said, the resources may have swayed Han Wu’s mind if he didn’t already have a solution for his resource scarcity—the Exclusive Sacrifice. At this point, his heart was filled with such distaste for his former teacher that he wished to do something in order to spite him. And thus, his resolve to make Liu Letian pay grew by the second.

“I will not change my stance on this. I would like to change classes.”

Liu Letian’s face twitched and turned red from frustration. Han Wu was being discourteous to him even though they were in front of all the other students.

Xu Mei had to stop Han Wu for a moment. “Han Wu, you can’t just change classes on a whim. There are rules in this school.”

Liu Letian was thrilled to hear that. However, Xu Mei’s next sentence made his face twitch. “However, if you are truly adamant in changing your classroom, you will have to pass a test from the school. Once you do, I can change your class.”

Han Wu wasn’t worried about passing. How could a test make him falter when even a Demigod failed to do so! “Then I would like to take this test and change classes.”

Immediately after he said that, Qin Shuang suddenly stood up. “Miss Xu, I want to take the test too.”

Liu Letian almost went crazy.

It was one thing for Han Wu to change classes. As much as Liu Letian wanted the reward, he could still afford to give up on Han Wu. But Qin Shuang was different. Liu Letian would lose out a lot more if she changed classes too.

Han Wu only had potential. No one knew how strong it would be.

Qin Shuang had already established herself as an extremely strong student. She was easily one of the five strongest students in this school. Everyone expected that she would be admitted into one of the top colleges.

More importantly, her family was rich and influential.

Liu Letian was certain that he would be able to obtain a large amount of resources if Qin Shuang was his student.

Liu Letian forced himself to smile and spoke softly, “Qin Shuang, please let me know if you are not satisfied with anything. I will make sure to rectify that. There’s no need to change classes.”

“There’s nothing unsatisfactory here. I just don’t want to stay here any longer.”

Xu Mei was also aware of how influential Qin Shuang’s family was so she didn’t want to offend her for no reason, “I agree to it. You can take the test tomorrow along with Han Wu.”

Xu Mei was about to leave when another student stopped her. “Miss Xu, I want to take the test too.”

Liu Letian was close to tears when he saw who it was.

The student was Zhang Xiaolong. He was the class monitor and was easily within the top ten strongest students of the year. He had once been Liu Letian’s special student and had received a lot of resources from Liu Letian.

By this point, Liu Letian was close to tears. “Xiaolong, why do you also want to change classes?”

Liu Letian was hoping to receive some monetary award from the school once Qin Shuang and Zhang Xiaolong graduated from his class. How could they do this to him? The rotten bastards! Zhang Xiaolong stared at Qin Shuang. “Teacher Liu, thank you for your guidance throughout the year, but I cannot stay in this class anymore.”

His pining for Qin Shuang was immense and long lasting. Even if he had failed many times to win her heart, he naturally had to follow Qin Shuang if she was changing classes to prevent someone else from making her fall in love with them first.

Xu Mei frowned at Liu Letian. Two top students requesting to change classes at the same time? Clearly Liu Letian was unfit as a teacher. “All of you should make sure to be ready for tomorrow’s exam. Mr. Liu, come with me.”

Xu Mei left the classroom with Liu Letian following her closely with a disgruntled face.

The classes ended swiftly for the day.

Han Wu was about to head back when Qin Shuang stopped him. “Han Wu, what’s going on with the Heroic life form you have?”

Han Wu frowned. “What does it matter to you?

“Of course it does! You owe me 150 Divine Points. If you can’t return me the money, you will have to become my slave. That’s why I need to know where your Heroic life form came from.”

Han Wu was speechless. He only owed her 150 Divine Points. Becoming her slave over that? That was preposterous and a humiliation to even consider! Han Wu began to grow irritated. “If you want me to repay your debt so fast I can pay you 5 Divine Points first as interest. I won’t tell you where I got my Heroic life form.”

Han Wu disappeared immediately after spouting these words as he teleported back home.

“Damn it!”

Qin Shuang slammed the table in anger. She felt that Han Wu was her natural enemy. How could someone be this dense!

Back at home, Han Wu ate a simple meal before he inspected his divine realm.

The population of his Bomber Locusts and Magma Locusts had greatly declined after that intense war.

He lost 40% of his locust’s eggs due to the shockwaves released during the war. Worse still, only 20% of the remaining eggs had hatched successfully.

After spending some time nurturing them, he finally managed to increase the number of Common locusts to 1 billion, the Bomber Locusts to 1 million, and Magma Locusts to 30 thousand.

After checking on his army he grew a tad worried about the upcoming test. There simply weren’t enough locusts at his disposal.

Steelcutter Swordwind sensed Han Wu’s presence and prayed to him, “Oh, my glorious God. Some of the Wolf Riders have escaped into the ore mine. Should we eradicate them?”

Han Wu recalled how some of the Wolf Riders had escaped at the end of the war. He had to get rid of them, as they were still Zhang Gang’s units. He couldn’t risk even the slightest danger to his Core.

Nevertheless, it would be a waste to kill them outright.

Han Wu gave his orders to Steelcutter Swordwind after a brief consideration. “Capture them alive. They will be useful to me.”

Steelcutter Swordwind heeded his orders without a moment’s hesitation.

How useful. Perhaps I should reward him with a nickname, Han Wu thought.

It only took a few realm-days for him to catch all of the remaining Wolf Riders. After tying them up together, Steelcutter Swordwind presented the prisoners to Han Wu.

Han Wu praised his effort, “Well done, Steely. Your contributions are greatly appreciated.”

Steely hummed, pleased at gaining praise from his God.

Han Wu checked the time and noticed that it was already just about midnight. He quickly Sacrificed all of his remaining Common locusts, as well as the newly captured Wolf Riders.

The life energy of the Wolf Riders was dense. Han Wu noticed that the total life energy of all the Wolf Riders combined was comparable to the life energy obtained from sacrificing 2 billion Common locusts. Thus, surely this sacrifice would present him with a useful skill!

Han Wu examined the reward options with anticipation.

[Option 1: Aefir Exosuit. An exosuit that’s comparable to a Unique life form]

[Option 2: Rank 1 Forge Blueprint. Can be used to build a forge to produce equipment. Highest result: Faith equipment]

[Option 3: Sentry Tower x3. Used to extend vision and notify units in the event of an invasion]

Han Wu sighed when he checked all the rewards. He was lamenting because he thought he had used up all his luck. None of the rewards suited him.

The Aefir Exosuit would give his units a fighting strength equivalent to a Unique lifeform. It sounded good on paper but his core race was the locust! How could a non-intelligent life form like a locust pilot an exosuit?

The Rank 1 Forge Blueprint would allow him to build a forge and was an important structure for those focused on the support role. But this too was useless for Han Wu. It was impossible for the locusts to forge anything.

The sentry towers were useless too.

Han Wu’s divine realm was only 160 sq km. Neither the length nor the width of his divine realm were more than 14 km to begin with. He could already see the horizon of one end from the other end with ease, especially since a large portion of his divine realm consisted of flat land. Building sentry towers in his divine realm was a fool’s errand.

He was frowning and considering his options until he suddenly remembered the dwarves that he had abandoned within the ore mine region. Oh, yeah. I totally forgot about them. They should be able to forge equipment! I wonder how they are doing now?

Han Wu’s visage zipped past and soon reached the ore mine region. There, he found out that the dwarves were living quite prosperously!

Within less than two realm-years, the dwarves had already increased their numbers from 800 to 900 units. They had even been mining the ore on their own to forge various tools and weapons in the hopes that Han Wu would find them useful in the future.

I didn’t think that the dwarves could be so sensible. He focused on one of the dwarf elders and appeared in front of him.

Even though the elder had never seen Han Wu before, once his visage had graced the eyes of the elder, it was indisputable that this was his God.

The dwarf elder moved his stout body and kneeled, “Oh glorious God. Thank you for granting us a good life.”

Han Wu was even more confused now. Ever since he had captured them, he had only given them one order: to mine! To him, the dwarves were a race that he had intended to sacrifice. He never once considered giving them a good life.

Using his powers, Han Wu read the elder’s memories and only then began to understand what the elder had meant.

When the dwarves were Zhang Bin’s core race, they hadn't lived good lives.

Zhang Bin had ordered every single dwarf to be a soldier. They had to suppress their passion for forging items and were forced to undergo military training. Many of the younger dwarves even died during training.

But ever since Han Wu captured them, not only did the dwarves stop undergoing the strict military drills, but they could also pursue their passion to craft and forge.

They loved mining and forging equipment. More importantly, because the ore mine was surrounded by a forest, they could easily find food and survive here.

Compared to Zhang Bin’s divine realm, Han Wu’s divine realm was like heaven to them.

Anything is better than hell, I suppose.

Han Wu made a decision after reading the elder’s memory. He decided to take them in as part of his units to provide support for his core race. Even if for nothing else, at least the dwarves were quite efficient in crafting equipment.

By that moment, Han Wu had already decided which reward he would choose: the Forge Blueprint. He then passed the blueprint to the dwarves, and tasked them with the important mission of building the forge.

The dwarves were excited after learning that their god had not only appreciated their talent, but he also gifted them a Forge Blueprint! The dwarves were so overjoyed at this outcome that they all transformed from Believers to Worshippers. Han Wu grinned at the newfound increase in Faith Points.

After tallying the amount, he was satisfied by how sizable his daily income had become. He smiled and disappeared from the dwarves’ sight.

Han Wu now had something more important to do, and that was to increase the number of his troops for tomorrow’s class change exam.
