Heins Territory was filled with restless buzz at the return of its rightful lord.
Perserque ran her hand over her belly as she quietly looked out the window and told him, “You were gone for too long.”
“Sorry.”
“I heard everything from Megalodria, so I won’t say any more. Just… come here,” she said as she turned her head.
Silver hair swaying as she gave a soft smile, she gestured to her round belly. “Our child must’ve been missing their father—they’ve been kicking up a storm, but now they’re quiet.”
“Haha, our youngest. You’ve been doing well, huh?”
There was something strange about having a child. Watching that little thing wriggle inside his wife gave Davey butterflies in his stomach in a good way, as if he had the whole world in his hands. He wondered if the baby had truly gone still simply because he had come home, just like she said.
“But it seems like the child is carrying demonic force as well…” Perserque worriedly observed.
Davey reassured her, “I’ve already told Shadow to find some Sacred Grass to suppress it.”
“Oh yeah, I heard Sacred Grass was discovered in a kingdom in the southern part of the Central Continent. Still… will that be enough?”
“Don’t worry. I’m not about to let anything happen to my kid.”
The child was both his and Perserque’s. It was inevitable that they would carry her demonic blood and demonic force. Unfortunately, demons and humans hadn’t fully reconciled yet. If the child couldn’t control their energy and started letting it out in the wrong crowds, things would get complicated.
