Perserque fluttered over in her small form and cupped Davey’s cheeks with both hands. “Since you're already here, shouldn't you do what you forgot to do?”
Seeing her seductive smile, Davey asked, “You want me to kiss you?”
“Hmph. Someone might think I’m clingy if they see how much I need to pester you for affection.”
“Are you not?” he countered.
“Haaaah.” She narrowed her eyes and gave him a languid look before letting go and stepping back a slight distance. “It would seem you didn't miss me all that much, so I suppose I should just get going.”
She never gave in during a battle of stubbornness, not even once. Seeing her staunch resolve, he sent a wave of mana out toward her.
Zzzzt!
Her small form returned to its original size, and Davey unhesitatingly seized the opportunity to wrap his arms around her waist and pull her in for a kiss.
“Mmph?!” Though a bit surprised, she still looked at him with a teasing smile.
“Hopefully you haven’t been getting on your Mommy’s nerves,” he said as he tapped lightly on her rounded belly.
Right on cue, he felt a thump back.
“Already kicking, eh?”
She beamed, filled with love for the child.
At that moment, Rinne and Aeria appeared from behind.
“Ah! Husband!! You're back!”
‘Husband…?’
Davey pointed out, “Your choice of words changed.”
“Ah. That... It just sort of happened.”
The one calling him husband was probably one of Aeria’s other personalities. It was likely that persona’s influence which had brought about the change in address.
Davey didn’t find it unpleasant, so he figured there was no real need to question it any further.
Standing beside her, Rinne silently looked up at Davey while sucking on a popsicle.
It hadn't been long since she’d managed to escape the chaos of Red Ribbon and Blue Ribbon, but it seemed like she was now in charge of Darian whom she was holding in one arm.
