“Eva, didn’t I tell you not to overdo it?” Perserque said with a troubled expression as she slowly descended onto the quiet training ground. There stood Evangeline, swinging her sword by herself.
Born between the ancient dragon Eclipse and Hercules, Evangeline had since become a precious daughter in Davey’s family.
Due to her non-human origins, her growth rate was different from that of humans. Unlike Darian, who was the same age but still just babbling and barely able to move on his own, she already looked like a girl in her mid-teens.
On top of that, despite only being two years old, she had already attained the immense power of a Sword Master.
Of course, from Perserque's perspective, things like that didn’t matter much. What mattered more was whether that wild girl would cause a little less trouble.
“Oh! You're back?!” With a bright smile, Evangeline ran over and threw herself into her arms.
“Yes. I’m pretty sure I told you not to keep swinging your sword so late into the night, young lady.”
“But I feel like if I push just a bit more, I can get even stronger!” Evangeline whined playfully.
Perserque smiled gently, finding her antics adorable. “It's good to be diligent, but if your body suffers from overexertion I’ll make you stop immediately.”
She laughed sheepishly, wiping sweat from her brow with the towel draped over her neck. “Okaaay.”
“The night air can get chilly, so let’s head in.”
“What about Darian?”
“He’s fast asleep. Probably next to Aeria.”
“Hehe, I wanna sleep with Darian!!” Evangeline skipped ahead excitedly, but then stopped in her tracks.
“Eva?”
Perserque, noticing her standing still while gazing up at the dusky night sky, reached out and gently touched her shoulder, puzzled.
“Mother,” she said in a low voice.
“Hm?”
“That... Was it always like that?”
Evangeline lifted her head and pointed toward the sky.
Originally, their world had two moons. The red moon Syras, and the blue moon Cryas. Yet two years...
