One of many ancient fortresses in Lion’s Castle, the headquarters of the five attack squads was surrounded by thick walls and equipped with all sorts of facilities.
“Look at all the equipment on the training ground! They’re all the latest models from Rothschild!”
“Be quiet.”
“Wow, look at that… Mana is pouring down like a waterfall. Jae-Hyeok, let’s go check out what it’s used for later!”
Someone muttered, “Doesn’t this guy realize his situation?”
The attack squad members were terse and stone-faced, but Do-Jin chattered ceaselessly, oohing and awing as if he were on a tour.
Jae-Hyeok’s expression was dark as he took one step away from Do-Jin.
Do-Jin had been trying his best to be cheerful since learning that the attack squad had captured Loren and two zombies. It seemed to be his way of denying the situation; after all, those two zombies were likely the same ones they had met before:
Do-Jin’s parents.
Jae-Hyeok thought, I would be the same if I were in his position.
How would he feel facing the humiliated bodies of his dead parents? Wouldn’t it be better to believe it was a nightmare and ignore it? Jae-Hyeok fully understood Do-Jin’s feelings.
Still, he knew it wasn’t right to stand by and do nothing, even if it was hard.
