A few people were gathered at the estuary of the Fonein River. According to protocol, they were supposed to be blindfolded and guided by priests when leaving Heim, but no one could stop Karyl.
“You’re complaining, but you seem to be smiling. Are you actually pleased?” Karyl asked.
“Well, I am, but I didn’t expect you to deal such a blow, not just to the prince but also to the Church.”
“So I exceeded your expectations?”
“Yes, by a lot,” Dushala replied with a smirk.
“Keep an eye on that man, Joey Johansel. When Israphil checked, he wasn’t at the Church, so he’s probably off on some other task.”
“Yes, my lord.” Dushala nodded.
It’s a pity the Church didn’t reveal Olivurn’s connection with the Wooden Cloud. That could have been a tool to bind him later. I needed to find out more about that other person in the Blood Cave.
Karyl thought of the unknown individual who had accompanied Olivurn during the investigation of the cave, clicking his tongue in frustration.
I don’t know who that is, but there’s no one from history that particularly stands out in my memory.
But like the Wooden Cloud, that individual lived in the shadows, avoiding the records of history, and the fact that Olivurn had personally brought them along was something that bothered Karyl.
