Chapter 189: Hall of the Lightning God

“Oh? It seems like the rankings have been released?”

“Hmm… Not bad. I was getting curious about it anyway.”

Kang Chul-In said.

“You were curious?”

“Of course.”

“Then you can just check it, right?”

“...It’s a waste of money.”

Kang Chul-In said, with an awkward expression on his face.

“Ah…”

Lee Chae-rin nodded.

“It was 5,000 gold to check it, right?”

“That’s right.”

“You could have just asked me if you were curious…”

“...”

“I look at it when I get bored sometimes.”

When Lee Chae-rin said that, Kang Chul-In’s face stiffened.

Brr…!

Whenever he wanted to check the rankings he had to be careful and make sure not to make Timothy angry. This was because of how tight the finances were in his territory.

Finally, it’s time to say good-bye to being poor.

Kang Chul-In clenched his fists.

Due to the mass production of the Hair Bros and the help of the Galaxy Corporation, he was sure that Laputa would prosper in less than a year.

At that point, he wouldn’t have to live trying to save so much money.

“Anyway, I’m going to take a look right now.”

Saying that, Kang Chul-In turned his attention to the Lord Rankings.

“Hmm…”

Even at this moment, some of the rankings for the Lords were changing.

The 1st to 5th ranked Overlords were as follows:

1st - Overlord Kang Chul-In

2nd - Overlord Albrecht Vilhelm

3rd - Overlord Ao Xin

4th - Overlord Andrei Ivanovic

5th - Overlord Hecate

Due to the death of Baruk Al-Yusuf who was ranked 2nd, and the fall of Skadi Andevari who was previously ranked 5th, there was quite a change in the rankings.

What was also notable was the rank of the Vampire Overlord, Andrei Ivanovic.

Even though I don’t know where he came from… I do need to take a look at him.

Kang Chul-In thought, startled at Andrei Ivanovic’s high ranking.

According to rumors, he was an Overlord who was active in the north of Pangaea.

Someone who wasn’t here in the past… even though I did come and change the future, I didn’t think it would be enough to change the entire situation up north.

Even though Kang Chul-In wasn’t aware of how Andrei Ivanovic made it all the way up to 4th place, he was curious enough to dig behind his back and find out what kind of person and lord he was.

It seems that near the bottom… it’s quite fierce.

There were also quite some changes to the rankings from 6th to 10th place.

The rankings were as follows:

6th - Overlord Dorian Explorer

7th - Overlord Lee Chae-rin

8th - Empty

9th - Empty

10th - Overlord Aleister (guaranteed to drop out!)

Due to Kang Chul-In’s interference at Fox Valley, Aleister was doomed to fall out of the Overlord Rankings no matter what he did.

And since there were so many empty spots, the somewhat higher-ranked Lords were also all looking to rise up the rankings.

At the front of those lords… was Alex Rothschild.

11th - Alex Rothschild (Extremely likely to become Overlord!!)

“That stupid rich boy is 11th place? Hmph!”

Lee Chae-rin said, as if she were also angry.

“But how did he climb up the rankings so quickly?”

“He’s gotten help from his family, probably.”

“Oh… the Rothschild family?”

“Yeah, he’s from an extremely rich family, not to mention the fact that he’s the heir to the family.”

“Then as expected, Mr. Chul-In is the best!”

“...All of a sudden?”

“After all, you’re 1st in the Overlord Rankings without any backing!”

“Pft, it’s nothing.”

Smirking, Kang Chul-In looked down at the Lords that were close to becoming Overlords too.

The rise of these lords was quite frightening too.

12th - Neptune Spear

13th - Atal Ramanujan

14th - Ludwig Heinel

15th - Lilly Sefardi

Even though Neptune Spear was later known as the Emperor of the Seas and was the ruler of the Southern Pangaea seas, he had somewhat of a hikikomori tendency, and that made him unworthy of notice.

He was someone who had hid in his territory while Ragnarok had occurred, acting like a king.

Atal Ramanujan was a Lord who ruled over the southern parts of the Baldur region, and later joined the Baldur alliance. Just like Ao Xin, he also fought and was capable of overwhelming his enemies with sheer numbers.

Ludwig Heinel was a Lord that ruled over the western region of the Baldur territory, and was the Lord that took care of the magical development and engineering of the Baldur Alliance.

He was similar to Lord Franz, who Kang Chul-In had killed before.

This is someone I don’t know.

Finally, Lily Sefardi was a lord that Kang Chul-In didn’t know.

It seems like she died soon after, or lost her soul core.

Kang Chul-In didn’t memorise all 300 Lords of the past, and didn’t pay any more attention to this matter.

“Let’s go.”

After checking everyone between 1st - 15th place on the Lord rankings, Kang Chul-In started to move again.

Even if they wanted to see more, the system didn’t allow Kang Chul-In and Lee Chae-rin, who were extremely high ranked Lords to see below 15th place. It was a sort of ‘protection’ for the weak.

“W-Wait up!!”

Lee Chae-rin shouted, running to catch up to Kang Chul-In.

---------

The Hall of the Lightning God was extremely dark and narrow, but also extremely long. It was like they were walking through a cave that had no end or beginning.

Walking for 10 hours, Kang Chul-In and Lee Chae-rin headed towards the inner part of the Hall of the Lightning God.

Is it an adventurer that came in accidentally? Or someone who’s come inside secretly?

“Lee Chae-rin. I think it’ll be around 12 hours until Dorian and his party get into a fight with the Boss.”

“Huh? But it’s been so long since they’ve come… Can’t it be that they’re already fighting…”

“This place is extremely long.”

“...!”

“And not only that, but they had to take care of the monsters here as they walked. They’re not like us, who can just walk by since all the monsters were taken care of already.”

“Right.”

“It’s been precisely 9 days since the idiot party has come inside this dungeon. With their skill, it’ll take maybe 10 days to finish this dungeon.”

Kang Chul-In’s face stiffened.

“But… that extra person that’s entered this dungeon gets on my nerves.”

“It might be an adventurer that came in accidentally.”

“Hm…”

“...?”

“The dungeon entrance was blocked 9 days ago on Earth. That means that there can be no more people that can enter on Earth.”

“Then…”

“There are 3 possibilities.”

Kang Chul-In explained.

“1st, that person followed the idiot party inside the dungeon.”

“And the 2nd is that the person was in here even before Team Browser came inside?”

“Yes. And the third…”

After pausing momentarily, Kang Chul-In continued.

“Is that they didn’t come through the dungeon gate that appeared on Earth, but rather through a second entrance in Pangaea.”

“That makes sense.”

“Even though all 3 of these are plausible explanations… What if that person ambushes that team of idiots?”

“..!”

“What if that person ambushes and last hits the boss, before attacking those idiots?”

“...It would be bad, then.”

“Yes, that’s what gets on my nerves. We’ll have to hurry up.”

“B-But… even though there are no monsters, won’t it take at least 5 days…”

“No.”

Kang Chul-In shook his head,

“Huk!!”

And held Lee Chae-rin up.

“If we go like this, we’ll get there in 10 hours.”

“M-Mr. Chul-in!!”

Saying that, Kang Chul-In started to chase the tracks of Team Browser with terrifying speeds.

“Kyaaa!!!”

Lee Chae-rin screamed.

-----------

BANG!

Holding Lee Chae-rin in his arms, Kang Chul-In almost ‘teleported’ through the dungeon.

Tadadada!

There were almost no breaks in between.

Even though he made some stops to rehydrate himself or drink some health potions, there wasn’t a single instance where they stayed in one area for over 10 minutes.

When 10 hours passed, Kang Chul-In and Lee Chae-rin managed to get out of the cave and ended up at the peak of a mountain.

Meanwhile,

BANG!!

From far away, in the middle of a temple, an explosion sounded.

Hua!!

Huaruruk!!

Ferocious flames started to rise up, almost hitting the ceiling of the temple.

It was obviously the powers of Sean Firefox, who possessed the ability of Pyrokinesis.

“W-We’re nearly there!”

Lee Chae-rin shouted, her face blue and about to throw up.

“Then, let’s go.”

Kang Chul-In said, and started to head towards the temple.

At that moment,

Flash!

Mitra, that was still in its sheath, started to flash a dazzling light,

Brrr!!

And started to shake.
