Chapter 691: Fury

Zu An gasped in amazement. “I thought I was already shameless enough, but it seems I’m a novice compared to you! You’re actually using the law to exact revenge on me.”

King Qi’s heir struggled to a seated position. He tried his best to assume his usual proud demeanor, but being struck by lightning left him looking rather hideous, no matter how he tried to hide it.  “Don’t misunderstand me. I am not trying to exact revenge. After all, I made an oath, bound by the natural laws of the world. How could I go against that?”

He didn’t dare underestimate the power of these oaths, and he was doing his best to avoid suffering the consequences of breaking this one.

Zu An sneered. “Have you heard this phrase before? ‘You shouldn’t deceive the heavens.’”

King Qi’s heir roared with laughter. “That is merely something the weak use to console themselves. The heavens are heartless, and view all men like dogs. The heavenly law does not recognize good and evil. It only requires you to follow its rules. Do that, and you will be safe.”

“This guy is twisting logic!” Chu Youzhao said unhappily. He was clearly still out for revenge, despite his earlier oath. Despicable.

Murong Qinghe frowned as well. As an obsessed martial artist, she believed that a loss was a loss. King Qi’s heir was acting rather shamelessly.

However, as a daughter of the Murong clan, she admired his decision. It would be worrisome if King Qi’s heir was naive.

“The weak?” Zu An’s mocking laughter echoed down the street. “Who was it that was being trampled on like a dead dog just now? Who was the weak?”

The young heir felt his breath catch in his throat. His chest began to heave intensely. What happened earlier on had been utterly humiliating.

You have successfully trolled Zhao Zhi for 999… 999… 999…

Han Fengqiu said with a frown, “My Lord Heir, there’s no need for you to lower yourself to that good-for-nothing’s level.”

King Qi’s heir took a deep breath. He wasn’t a useless and utter fool of a son. He reacted quickly, and said, “Indeed, one’s strength is not only reflected in their cultivation, but also in the resources at his disposal. When comparing the two of us, merely calling you weak is already high praise.”

Zu An laughed out loud. “Who was it that was boasting earlier on that you didn’t rely on anyone but yourself?”

King Qi’s heir was speechless.

Did this guy not know how to have a proper conversation?

He knew that there was no way he would win through verbal sparring. Boiling with shame and fury, he roared, “Uncle Han, cripple him!”

“Very well. My Lord Heir, rest here. Watch the way I deal with this ant.” Han Fengqiu turned around and looked at Zu An. “Brat, you should be honored that this old one is getting personally involved. Your life has finally been made worthy.”

Zu An spat on the ground and said mockingly, “You? A mere ninth rank cultivator? Perhaps you don’t know that I’m constantly in the company of earth immortals and grandmasters? Several master rank cultivators have died at my hands. You’re just a pathetic ninth rank cultivator. I really don’t know where you get your confidence from.”

Both Mosquito Daoist and Old Mi had both died at his hands. Furthermore, the souls of Mi Li, Qin Shihuang, and the final Shang king Wu Geng, were all beings that were on par with the current emperor. There weren’t that many truly powerful cultivators who could compare to him, and so he obviously didn’t view someone at the peak of the ninth rank to be worthy.

However, since there was no way anyone else could have known about this, they all thought that he was spouting a load of bullshit.

Murong Qinghe scoffed. “Big brother Chu, your brother-in-law’s cultivation is pretty decent, but he really takes his boasting too far.”

Chu Youzhao felt her pretty face begin to warm. Even though she knew that her brother-in-law was formidable, comparing himself to earth immortals and grandmasters was just too much. Even she was feeling embarrassed for him.

A distance away, the driver chuckled. “He’s killed a few masters? Madam, this friend of yours really is quite bold.”

He received no reply.

Han Fengqiu obviously didn’t believe him either. “You are so young, yet you are full of nonsense. Today, this old one will properly discipline you on behalf of your family. You will learn that you can stuff whatever food you want into your mouth, but you cannot use it to idly spew words…”

Before he could finish, Zu An interrupted him. “Your pants have dropped.”

Han Fengqiu was momentarily stunned, then he felt a chill across his legs. When he looked down, his pants were bunched around his ankles.

His shriveled manhood was quivering in the cold wind, looking extremely pitiful.

A moment ago, he had been speaking in such a domineering fashion, yet all of his swagger disappeared in an instant.

“Ah!!”

Chu Youzhao and Murong Qinghe both covered their eyes and turned around, their faces bright red.

What the heck is going on? We’ve never seen any of this in all our years alive. Why are we being subjected to that dirty sight so many times today?

Chu Youzhao couldn’t help but remember her brother-in-law. Why are other men so much smaller than him?

This was true for King Qi’s heir, and now, it was true for this ninth-ranked expert as well.

King Qi’s heir did not share her thoughts. In fact, even though Han Fengqiu was on his side, the young master almost couldn’t contain his laughter.

He gave it another look, and a big smile spread across his face. He finally regained his confidence.

In the future, he could tell others that he was better than a ninth-ranked expert… No, I can’t. Uncle Han might kill me for that.

Unlike King Qi’s heir, who was holding back his laughter with great difficulty, the driver with the missing tooth let his own laughter ring out in loud peals. “So this fellow likes to walk around with his balls dangling! How old are you already? Why are you still doing that? Hahaha, you’re killing me.”

The madam inside the carriage was speechless.

She shut the curtains in front of her completely. Such a scene was just too offensive to the eyes.

Han Fengqiu’s mind went completely blank. He was already considered an elder, and had reached the peak of the ninth rank. He thought he’d been through every conceivable situation.

However, he had never experienced such a situation before.

He finally snapped out of his daze when he heard the laughter ringing all around him. He pulled up his pants as he charged at Zu An: “Die!”

You have successfully trolled Han Fengqiu for 1024… 1024… 1024…

His rage knew now bounds. His eye sockets felt like they were splitting, and he was burning with a frenzy of hatred. He lost any semblance of being a high-class elder.

He did not think that Zu An had anything to do with his pants dropping. He was just extremely put off by the kid’s vicious tongue. He was going to rip his face apart and feed his tongue to the dogs in order to cool off.

As for the driver with the missing tooth, he would make sure that he wouldn’t be able to laugh anymore either.

A ninth rank expert moved extremely quickly. He shot forward like a streak of lightning, and neither Murong Qinghe nor Chu Youzhao could react.

However, Zu An was already prepared, dodging aside with the help of his Sunflower Phantasm. He’d already gone through Mi Li’s rigorous training, and he’d even managed to dodge some of her strikes. What could a mere ninth rank, who only reached his rank because of his seniority, do to him?

“Huh?” The driver with the missing tooth had been thoroughly enjoying himself, but this development shook him to his core. Zu An’s grasp of timing was just too perfect.

Dodging the attacks of the young heir wasn’t anything to brag about, but evading the strikes of someone at the peak of ninth rank was a completely different matter. They could lock onto their target’s auras, which rendered ordinary movement techniques meaningless. However, Zu An still managed to dodge it!

Is this really a coincidence, or…

Han Fengqiu wasn’t in the mood to notice this. There was only one thought in his mind right now—he was going to catch Zu An, and then kill him.

Zu An was feeling the pressure as well. Han Fengqiu was probably exceeding his usual strength by twenty percent, so his speed was far greater than Zhao Zhi’s. If not for his mastery of his Sunflower Phantasm, he might have been caught already. Even so, this was a dangerous fight.

He was tempted to say ‘your pants have dropped again’, but he didn’t do it. Even though the skill ‘Keyboard, Come!’ was powerful, it wasn’t without cost. The backlash of causing his opponent’s pants to drop once shouldn’t be too bad, but if he did it repeatedly, it might overwhelm him.

Han Fengqiu was beginning to feel anxious. He was a powerful cultivator at the peak of the ninth rank, yet he couldn’t take out his opponent despite going all out. This fellow was as slippery as a loach.

It was all because of the damned restrictions around the airspace of the capital. If he could utilise his ability to fly and attack from above, all of Zu An’s speed would be nullified.
