“The day the lion-named youth comes of age, the sword to destroy evil shall descend from the heavens.”
The prophecy spoke of a Hero with the name of the lion, one destined to inherit the Holy Sword and save the world from Evil. Yet two boys bear that name: Leon and Lyon.
Leon is a commoner cadet at the Academy, armed with nothing but sweat, calloused hands, and an iron will. Lyon is the prodigy of noble blood—handsome, gifted, and secretly royal. For three years, Leon has challenged him, losing every duel despite his brutal training. He’s fought until his body broke and his spirit wavered, driven only by pride and a love he’s long since lost to his rival.
But on the day his resolve finally begins to crumble, the skies open. A blinding sword descends from the heavens. The Holy Sword El-Cid, vessel of the spirit of the previous Hero—the Holy King Rodrick—was meant for Lyon, the royal lion. Instead, it chooses Leon.
Leon has no noble lineage, nor divine favor. All he has to offer is a heart that refuses to give up. Thrown into a destiny meant for another, Leon has to rise to meet the impossible. With El-Cid’s voice guiding him and the shadow of Evil spreading across the world, he begins his journey to discover what it truly means to be a Hero.
