“He is a reckless fool,” Cain replied.
“A reckless fool?” Maximus raised a brow, intrigued by the response.
“He thinks he is so strong that he believes he is untouchable.”
“That does sound like him.”
Maximus agreed with Cain’s assessment. No matter how powerful Siegfried might be, the fact that he charged alone into the enemy’s strongholds without any hesitation meant that he was reckless and simple-minded.
Rampaging that deep in enemy territory meant that he would someday pay the price for his recklessness—and he would be paying dearly for it.
“He truly believes that he can handle everything on his own.”
“Quite the arrogance, I must say.”
“Yes, Lord Chancellor,” Cain nodded in agreement. Then, he added, “But if we can use that arrogance of his to our advantage, then we can catch him.”
“Are you proposing that we set a trap for him?”
“Precisely, Lord Chancellor!”
“Oh?”
“If we throw out the right bait, he will without a doubt bite. Then, once he is trapped in the snare, we will hunt him down like an animal.”
“But we can’t predict where he will strike next, can we?”
