One of my favorite German beers was recently on sale at the supermarket for about 30% of the usual price. Holy mackeral! Seemed too good to be true. Turned out, it was. When I drank two cans the other night, the following day I had a splitting headache and horrible hangover until about 3:00 in the afternoon. This happened again the next time I drank 2 cans. The obvious conclusion: the beer was fake. Unfortunately, fake alcohol is a huge problem in China. I read a recent article that said something like 30-40% of the alcohol available for purchase is fake. As always in China, you have to be vigilant about everything.
