Hey guys,

The last chapter of LOAR (chapter 1823) is available to our Kings of Hybrids now. To be honest, lots of feelings came rushing to me when I clicked the release button. Come to think of it, it's been three and a half years since since we embarked on this journey together. What a ride has it been, with all the ups and downs! However, I'll save that for when we actually get there.

Right now, I just want to tell you that I appreciate your love and support for this novel very much, especially our sponsors. You made this translation possible. Your sponsorship is what's been putting bread on Clan Beerblade's table. And now, I'm a bit saddened that, as the thing that connects us, LOAR is coming to an end.

However, on a more cheerful note, I've been looking for my next project, and I'm sure you'll be able to see it soon.

P.S.

This is a table of dates when LOAR will end for you, which I've posted before.

P.S.

I did some rough calculation. If there are no mishaps, our Kings of Hybrids should be able to read the final chapter of LOAR around Christmas. The ending was quite a suprise to me. I hope you'll enjoy it too. If you want to read it in advance and support me at the same time, you know what to do.

Hey guys, it was the Double Ninth Festival yesterday, one of the few festivals where drinking is required. And I was so busy celerbrating that I forgot to release this post. Sorry, my bad.

Normally, we'd gather the whole family, especially the elder members, to cook and eat a nice dinner. During dinner, we'd drink some chrysanthemum liquor. (I sometimes use it during secluded cultivation, lol)

Now, here's a video introduction to the festival:

http://global.chinadaily.com.cn/a/202010/24/WS5f937d80a31024ad0ba80a65.html

The Double Ninth Festival (Chung Yeung Festival in Hong Kong), observed on the ninth day of the ninth month in the Chinese calendar, is a traditional Chinese holiday, mentioned in writing since before the East Han period (before AD 25). The day is also known as the Chrysanthemum Festival (菊の節句) in Japan.

According to the I Ching, nine is a yang number; the ninth day of the ninth lunar month (or double nine) has too much yang (a traditional Chinese spiritual concept) and is thus a potentially dangerous...

Hey guys,

Today we celebrate Qixi Festival (Chinese Valentine’s Day), the most romantic Chinese traditional festival. I think it's safe to say that every adult Chinese person knows the story behind it. If you want, you can try and mention it to your Chinese friends, and see if they know it. However, even though it's romantic as hell, the story is pretty sad, so use it carefully if you want to impress someone you like. Read the story, then you'll know.

Qixi Festival

Also called:       Qiqiao Festival

Observed by:    Chinese

Date:                  7th day of 7th month on the Chinese lunar calendar

Related to Tanabata (in Japan) Chilseok (in Korea)

The Qixi Festival (Chinese: 七夕節), also known as the Qiqiao Festival (乞巧節), is a Chinese festival that celebrates the annual meeting of the cowherd and weaver girl in Chinese mythology. It falls on the 7th day of the 7th month on the Chinese calendar. It is sometimes called the Double Seventh Festival, the Chinese Valentine's Day, the Night of Sevens, or the Magpie Festival.

Happy Dragon Boat Festival, everyone!

This is probably the third most important Chinese festival of the year, whose importance is only surpassed by Spring Festival and Mid-Autumn Festival. Since we have lots of fun activities on this day, I decided to create a little fun activity for you too: DOUBLE RELEASE.

Thank you for your love and support.

P. S. The following are some contents about this festival. I think you'll find them quite interesting.

Definition

The Duanwu Festival, also often known as the Dragon Boat Festival, is a traditional holiday originating in China, occurring near the summer solstice. It is also known as Zhongxiao Festival, commemorating fealty and filial piety. The festival now occurs on the 5th day of the 5th month of the traditional Chinese calendar, which is the source of the festival's alternative name, the Double Fifth Festival. The Chinese calendar is lunisolar, so the date of the festival varies from year to year on the Gregorian calendar. In 2017, it occurred onMay 30th; and in 2018,...

Hey guys,

I just added a new sponsor tier: King of Hybrids. I hope you'll enjoy it.

On another account, some of you emailed me asking what makes Jianzhan tea cups different from regular tea cups. I can think of three things: 1. Jianzhan tea cups has a rich history that originated in the Tang Dynasty (more than 1100 years ago) 2. They're made differently. 3. There are certain benefits of drinking tea with Jianzhan tea cups. For example, they help better preserve heat, improve taste, and provide healthy elements.

If you want to read more about their history, manufacture, and benefits, here's a webpage you can check: https://www.teavivre.com/info/secrets-of-jian-zhan-tea-cup.html

Thank you for your love and support. Have a cup of tea, fellow Daoist. 🙏

I know this is a difficult time. I can see that in the numbers of the past two months. To to be honest, I need your support.

It's almost 11 pm here and I just finished a 4000-word chapter. Of course that had something to do with Baby Beerblade banging on my door every ten minutes through the day.

Anyways, I'll meditate for a bit (perhaps with the help of a b**r) and then go to bed.

Remember to smile. God bless all of us.

Hey guys,

It's festival time again. Today we're celebrating Longtaitou Festival (a.k.a. Dragon Head-raising Festival).

Normally, this is the time of year when Chinese barbers are the busiest. However, due to this coronavirus outbreak in China, no barbershop is open. So I hope my dear wife will do a good job with the baby's and my hair. Fingers crossed..

Anyways, here's something you might want to know about this important festival:

Introduction

The Longtaitou Festival which means "dragon raises head" in Chinese is a traditional Chinese festival held on the second day of the second month in the Chinese lunar calendar. So,it's also called Eryueer Festival. Eryueer means the 2nd day of 2nd month in Chinese. In Chinese culture, the dragon is an auspicious animal that dominates clouds and rains. The 2nd day of the 2nd lunar month is thought to be the day that dragon awakes and raises its head according to the Chinese folk legend. So the day is called Dragon Heads-raising Day. And there is a poplar Chinese idiom "二月二,...
