Author's Leave Request
November 12th. Light snow.
As winter arrives, the weather grows colder, and conditions become harsher. Fortunately, our food reserves are still adequate for now.
But the cold is a big problem. While making rounds through my territory, I notice ordinary people shivering from the cold, huddling around burning wood for warmth.
Relying on firewood for warmth is not a long-term solution. It will be difficult for everyone to get through the winter, and some will inevitably freeze to death.
Yet the power plant is still unable to resume operations.
I’ve discovered that zombies make excellent workers. They run on solar energy with astonishing absorption efficiency and can work without rest. Moreover, they won’t go on strike.
Up until now, I’ve kept my ability to control zombies a secret from the general public, fearing it will scare them and disrupt order.
But I can no longer afford to worry about that.
I take command of the zombies and make them generate electricity through manual labor. The amount of electricity produced by each zombie is negligible, but fortunately, I’m controlling a horde of them, and the total electricity output becomes impressive.
The reaction of the ordinary people surprises me. There is a brief commotion at first, but they quickly accept the fact that zombies are helping them to work.
I feel like the Zombie Star Planetary Will carried a resentful gaze when looking for me tonight… It’s probably just my imagination.
On the other hand, the Planetary Will on humanity’s side seemed quite pleased.
Not that it matters. Soon enough, neither of Them will be able to smile.
Taking a day off today. I’m going to teach Them how to write a novel.
