“If you keep digging, at most you’ll only get as far as the middleman, right?”
“Probably.” Old Ge did not deny it. “People of rank up top don’t like getting their own hands dirty either. Usually, they hire an intermediary. Those fellows are very experienced.”
He knew the whole business well, because he himself was exactly that sort of intermediary.
