After 20 chapters: it's a zombie action-drama that's a rare combination of both constant tension and heartfelt moments. The physical and emotional struggles of the MC are highly engaging, even as you wonder what choices he'll make in dangerous and complex situations. It even depicts the MC's misunderstandings, indecision, and guilt in a realistic way that doesn't drag on either. No comedy, though I smiled more than once at some of the lightly humorous conversations later on.
Above all, you should know that Walking Daddy ISN'T just some human drama about a father trying to ensure his daughter's safety (like some typical zombie/disaster movie plot). Without spoiling it, I'll just say that it's certainly the kind of novel that belongs on WuxiaWorld. The supernatural threats to the MC are more than just zombies, and he rises to the challenge. Loving this one so far, and it has one of the best translations I've seen too; completely smooth, and effectively phrased.
