This story is unfortunately an example of a somewhat interesting concept ruined via heavily dull writing.
Starting off with a note regarding biases, I do not have bias towards the use of a System in these novels, if done well. In fact, I quite enjoy them. One of my current most-followed novels on WW is An Alchemist's Path to Eternity, which I think uses a System pretty well.
Now, into this novel.
The main character has access to a System, which through mastering martial arts and techniques, he gains "perception", effectively raising his talent in understanding martial arts. I actually quite like the concept.
The translation is done quite well, which is of no surprise to me. WW always has high quality translations, and I believe one of the translators work on the novel I mentioned above, which is done very well too.
The problem lies with the writing. It's lackluster. No translation can fix a story that has no substance. Oftentimes it feels like the kind of text I would read if someone were to take a good book and then summarize multiple chapters in a single paragraph.
I am perfectly fine with time skips, but it's done very poorly in this novel. As an example, the MC gets a new work position 3 times in these 32 chapters I've read. The description for what his job responsibilities are is non existent. You could explain this away well enough by saying that it's not important to him, but this pattern continues heavily into his martial arts studies. Everything is summarized. 3 months passed, he has mastered x y and z. He became a new disciple to x, 2 months pass. I have no idea what he's doing.
As you can likely expect based on the paragraph above, with all the summarizing, you can expect no effort in creating emotionally appealing characters. Someone dies in these 32 chapters that our MC cares about. However, we as readers are *told* that the MC cares about this person. We are not *shown*. Even looking at the MC, I have no real understanding of his personality, his likes and dislikes, etc. From the sounds of it, he's hard working and loves martial arts. That is about all I can say about him.
Overall, it's not a good read. I recommend finding a different novel, one that actually has compelling characters and a story that has life.
