All I can say is that I am very happy with this. I love a good martial arts novel, I like fight scenes, and some training, and just generally the whole thing. The more modern setting is also nice in that it provides a more interesting backdrop. There are guns, and a whole society designed in the background, providing a good scene for the MC to be set against. I am very early on, so I may need to adjust later, but right now this is about the best start that I could hope for, and even if I don't like later parts of the story, I expect I would still want to come back and read the beginning again.

We do have a cheat system, so that is something to take notice of. It largely seems to be giving the MC rewards for going and fighting dangerous enemies. Otherwise, chapter one starts us with a cool fight scene, and we get more of them in the subsequent chapters, as they flesh out the world and character relationships. The setting is modern-ish, with some powerful martial artists, but guns and nukes seem to exist. The backdrop of the world doesn't seem to have analogues to real countries, instead two large empires, and some smaller countries to fill in the cracks. Hopefully this means we get to skip past nationalism. Either way, extremely promising, and looking forward to this every day now.

I read the first 10 chapters, and then started to skim-read since it was as dull as a potatoe, i stopped at chapter 43.

I do not recommend this novel, it is like many other korean novels which just fits into the category of: Fast-food novel

Everything happens at a fast pace, the cultivation system in this novel is incredibly poorly explained even if it's early in the novel there's barely any info for the reader. Most characters who is mentioned by name is irrelevant a few chapters later. The world-building is 2/10 id say, close to nothing except for explaining for powerful this or that family/faction is, not really all that interesting.

Also, the way the author has decided to write this novel i really couldn't care less if the MC lives or dies, sure, he does a great feat by killing these monsters, but hes just a 1-dimensional character with nothing interesting about him except for the mysterious "thing" which let's him advance super fast, and that's another point which makes this rather boring: In the 43 chapters i read, he never once trained in anything, he just gets stuff handed to him and he immediately already mastered it.

If you just want to read another superman story where the MC is pretty much never going to be at a disadvantage, read this.

I want to have a few words not about the novel per se, but about the author. I will to be honest, i dont read this novel at all. BUT i read other author novels in chinese. His works is very consistent; No harem, calm and strong mc, actually decent smart side characters that dont act too retard(but maybe they have too much screen time sometimes and not that deep personality-wise). His novels are usually similar with the mcs and that is one of the best things; they are rutheless but calm, decisive and not dumbs usually. Can be boring when the side characters have too much screen time but the mcs and they journeys in the end always save it. The endings are usually okay, not bad or amazing. His first novels are more or less connect(and the other novel of him translated here appear other main characters of other of his novels) and the last ones not that much but sometimes yeah too but one can understand usually all. Im happy that the team of wuxiaworld give another opportunity to more of this author novels because the novels have his pros and cons but they are usually short and the author dont make the story more than 1200+ chapters. This novel have like 600 chapters and completed already. Thats sweet and dont lose the reader time like the most popular novels here that are infinite. Basically: If you want a good head main character who follow the dao in consistent way, okay side character and a short but straigth to the point novel, this is your novel. Next year will be finish and if you like it you have the other novel of the author here already completed too. The other novel is Planet Pulverizer: A Mortal's Ascent. Sorry for my english!
