“The Second Cult Leader and the Prophet of the Voodooists died during the Holy War seven years ago.”
Florence Academy was a prestigious clergy academy.
“Now that the Voodooists are considered as a cult, who is the Third Cult Leader, where are they now, and what are they up to?”
Only I knew the answer to this question.
The Third Cult Leader was a freshman at Florence Academy. He was here, standing amongst the others in the auditorium.
How do I know this, you ask?
Because I’m the Cult Leader.

I've read the 20 chapters that are currently out. While the premise is interesting, the execution does not feel that way. The novel does not really have a logical progression. The main character joins this academy in order to meet with his mother, however he does not really seem to care that the people killed his father. The MC is just living his normal life and doesn't really seem to do anything else. There are some events that happen but the MC is just so OP that he can take care of everything by himself.

Spoilers:

He's never talked to a woman before and yet he's able to talk to that one perfectly because of his understanding of psychology? What kind of reason is this? He's the cult leader, and basically has been helping people all this time and yet he's never talked to a woman?

He's able to cast demonic spells effortlessly but isn't able to cast the divine ones because he can't get the shape of the core correct, but he's been practicing this for basically his whole life and the voodoo demon that helps him doesn't tell this until now? The demon is said to be very knowledgeable.

I'm also highly surprised that their voodoo church has not been raided considering how obvious everything seems to be.

Also shaping up to be a harem novel.

Overall the quality of this novel does not seem to be very high.

Hi, I'm one of the translators of this novel, Dylinthepizza.

I'm going to be using the same review I posted in NovelUpdates here. Take it with a grain of salt because I'll probably be a bit biased.

The characters in the novel have dark and somewhat depressing backgrounds, but there seems to be light at the end of the tunnel, so it's not exactly all doom and gloom. The novel seems to be heading in the direction of a harem. At the very least, there isn't much romantic development because the MC has motives that prevent developments from occurring. But as I mentioned before, the novel is quite dark, so it’s hard to say how the romance will turn out.

The MC is kind but not stupid. I suppose you could say that he isn't good at logical thinking, but he has good intuition. The setting for the novel and the power system is based on real-life religions, and it's relatively straightforward. It's somewhat different from other novels but nothing absolutely groundbreaking like certain novels. The writing seems to be fairly good. The plot has a clear direction, and the MC has a clear goal, so it's probably going to have a proper ending.

Moving on to the flaws, firstly, the start of the novel has quite a lot of cliche developments. The MC has quite a lot of plot armor, and there is some ‘high school drama.’ That said, there is less of that as the novel continues, and there are also some plot twists that I didn’t expect. Some of the villains and side characters lack character/development. Some parts sort of drag out for a while, and plot progression is slow, as usual with web novels. But arguably, some of these non-important chapters are quite funny, so it's not entirely a bad thing. Also, imo slow is still better than rushed.

I found the novel quite enjoyable to translate. I think the original had fairly good writing. If the writing looks like garbage, it's probably my fault.

Alright, that's all I'm going to say because I have to get back to translating... When I finish translating the novel, maybe I'll update this review.

Also, to anyone who reads the novel, thank you.

Review based on singular chapter at time of writing.

It seems interesting. There's not a whole lot else to say.

As can (mostly) be gathered from the title, its about a student enrolled in a religious academy, who is actually the leader of an opposing cult.

The setup in chapter 1 is decent, there's a small expositional info dump, but it doesn't disturb the pace.

There was a "twist" I wasn't quite expecting, and it seems like a fun play on the corrupt clergy trope.

All-in-all, I'm looking forward to seeing where this is going.

Chapter 2 just released and it's still going in a good direction. Exposition is tasteful and done in a way that is making the worldbuilding genuinely interesting.
