Honestly RR is a good read, but isn’t great.

The story is simple, characters are funny if not lacking in many ways, and the combat can either be really good or super bland.

The writing is what really gets me. Character interactions can be at best amusing but mostly choppy and hurried. The world and game kind of just exist, there isn’t much building or explanation about anything that is going on. Some word or phrase choices are really strange to me, like players don’t kill or fight they catch. It’s just off putting not to mention the setting will change at the drop of a hat. One second the MC is hunting but all of a sudden he’s on the couch with his buddy, at some points I had to stop and reread the last paragraph because I feel like I missed something.

I’m still holding on to my final judgment until more chapters come out but as of now it’s only okay and would recommend it to Korean vrmmo fans.

The MC of this novel is Literally a Gary Stu, meaning that he's essentially too perfect and achieves outlandish merit in an overly fraudulent manner when compared to the rest of the characters in the novel. I've read 100 chapters and the MC HAS NEVER BEEN HIT. Like he's been blown away from blocking attacks that he couldn't take head-on but that's it. Even then those attacks didn't seem to do much damage to him. The fact that he's never been hit full on is troubling to me. He literally doesn't need to upgrade his defence stat because of this and the fact that he does upgrade defence is kinda lackluster and stupid.

Look everyone has their taste and whatnot and if this novel sounds your speed then go ahead and read. I personally prefer Overgeared because of the character development, but hey :/.

Chap 230 review: This is a fighting novel. That's pretty much it. If you just want a good read to pass some time and has a decent liking to fight oriented novels, this is a perfect fit for you.

Ranker's Return, it is a Korean game novel that revolves around our guy named 'Gang Hyeonu'. This novel is a fun to read novel, however, it is not one of the best. But don't sell yourself short, this novel is one of the better novels to pass time as it includes detailed actions during fight scenes and has good worldbuilding and funny interactions between characters.

Overall, this novel is still a 'need more information' status to be reviewed because it is still under 100 chapters and it is within the phase of worldbuilding and doesn't have any significant changes to the main character as of March 2020. I suggest you read this novel when you have free time :)

Edit(Chapter 120 Update): This novel is becoming wholesome as fuck.

Such detailed fights and structured storyline while keeping the character's attitude interesting to read. Also when Gang Hyeonu finally pays the debt then becoming more wholesome is such a satisfying moment for me. Other than that, it is still an interesting novel with a lot of the world left to be explored. I still suggest that you read this novel because it is such a novel with detailed fights, good storyline, and occasional wholesome moments.
