"I Am Not a Regressor" already had an unofficial translation back in 2022. I remember that during the release of the first chapters, the novel was quite popular — and for good reason, since the beginning is indeed very charismatic. However, the most common complaints about I Am Not a Regressor are actually about how it initially seemed like the story wanted to be somewhat disruptive, playing with clichés and subverting them, but eventually lost that edge and settled into being just a mediocre novel that followed a standard writing formula.
That said, my real issue with this series is actually the harem. Believe me, it's not the Korean-style harem — the kind I like to call "soft harem," where the female characters are just potential romantic interests, and the protagonist doesn't necessarily end up with all of them. This novel is much closer to the Japanese-style harem — meaning the heroines are constantly all over the protagonist, with tons of jokes and scenes revolving around that. Personally, I hate the Japanese-style harem trope, so I didn’t have the patience to stick with the story for very long.
All that said, I'm going to rate it as "Not Recommended." But honestly, I really wish there were a middle ground between "Recommended" and "Not Recommended." For me, it wasn’t a good experience — but I also recognize that the novel isn’t terrible. It might not be anything special, but it’s definitely the kind of story that could entertain a lot of readers.
