Generic Awakener Dungeon story in a good way. If you want something to fill your free time and like dungeon stories, this will pass the time.

Kim Do-Joon is an awakener but not a hunter: he runs a potion shop. He enters dungeons to gather supplies to make potions. While entering one particular dungeon, you guessed it, he receives balance breaking abilities. Only three chapters out so far, but it has the feeling of good development ahead of it. The writing itself isn't fantastic, but it's also not ungodly trash. So far the story is relying heavily on exposition, which makes sense since this is just the start of the series, but I can imagine the story continuing to rely heavily on exposition as the story continues as that seems to be the author's writing style. Imagine a manga that is just wall to wall text instead of depicting action and you'd understand what I mean. A series to pass the time if that is what you are looking for, which I am.

So I've just finished reading this today (Admittedly, I binged a good.. 70% of it this morning) and have some thoughts on it.

Was it a good read? Yes, the vast majority of it was decently done. Would I recommend it? I'm still debating that as I type this out. It takes ideas from a few novels I've read here and there (One major in particular) which is sad, and it drops it's own unique aspects surprisingly quickly after about chapter 140 onwards. In addition, the final 30 chapters were reminiscent of either the author or group behind the author giving up on the story and hoping to finish it as soon as possible with some hastily stitched together conclusion and completely abandoned plot points strewn about the floor.

Is it a good read? Again, yes. Is it a satisfying read to the end? No. The last 40 chapters genuinely felt like a slog to read through, the characters that were getting built up early on dropped off completely.. I don't need to write anything more honestly.

If you're looking for a good read with an (at absolute best) mediocre ending, give this a go (Bonus points if you have read the novels extra since you'll be better prepared for the level of ending) And if you want an actually satisfying conclusion to a story with a fun payoff to the mechanics that were built up from the start of the plot? Look elsewhere.

(Addendum, this is what my writing looks like after 4 hours sleep from a 36 hour stint awake? I may come back and fix this up when I've had more sleep)

After reading 10 chapters, the story is enjoyable thus far. The world the story is set in is already matured with awakeners who go on to become hunters or fill up miscellaneous jobs that are available as a result of awakening, with many of these jobs assisting hunters.

The pacing does not feel slow, and the character dont feel randomly inserted in for dialogue.

Depending on your interpretation, the skill of copying can seem overpowered or weak. But how copying functions is actually interesting enough that it makes you wonder what is possible and how effects can change when copied from items.

Overall, it's solid, nothing to blow your mind, but it's a fun read, and so far, I haven't gotten bored reading, and I haven't started skimming through texts waiting for something to happen yet...
