The atmosphere changed immediately after entering the snowfield.
Ramon, Verita, Mir, and even Lanfero, who had been leisurely driving the horses, now had a beast-like sharpness in their expressions. I read slight tension as well as caution in their attitudes.
I wondered if there was any need for that. After all, a snowfield was an open place. It wasn't suitable for stealth or cover, so there was little risk of ambushes.
