What are Heaven and Earth? What is Cultivation?
Lu Chen, an 18-year-old from Greenheaven Village in Dongshan City, has always stood apart from other children. Exceptionally bright, he could grasp anything the moment he learned it. At night, he would often dream of powerful cultivators locked in fierce battles.
Everything changed when he was nine, the year he failed his baptism test for the first time. Since then, he has failed for nine consecutive years. Now at eighteen, he faces his tenth and final chance to walk the path of immortal cultivation.
Will he succeed and fulfill his dream? Or will he fail once more, living the life of a simple farmer?
What journey lies ahead for him, or was it all a scheme with his path predetermined from start to finish?

Translator Intro:

Hello everyone,

I’m Aaron Mclarren, one of the translators for Divine Medallion of Seven Lifetimes. Like many in the community, I first discovered web novels and quickly became captivated by them. I fondly remember my university days when I was so engrossed in Tales of Demons and Gods that I lost track of time and even missed some of my classes.

I began my translation journey with Gravity Tales, working on Ancient Strengthening Technique. After a few years’ break, I joined WuxiaWorld as a co-translator for Planet Pulverizer: A Mortal's Ascent. Now, I’m excited to be part of the team bringing Divine Medallion of Seven Lifetimes to you!

The translation is pretty good but the story… not so much. The plot is hurried, the writing is simplistic (not translator’s fault), constant power ups for the MC in even the early chapters and unnatural behavior of various characters is unconvincing.

In short, it’s just not a good novel after 20 or so chapters read. It’s not terrible but very much vanilla and quite mediocre. It doesn’t seem to be worth the time to read it. I mean try a few chapters and you can immediately see the drawbacks. If one have not read many Xianxia novels before, this might be ok, but there are better books to read, IMO.

I think its quite good 👍 i don't want to called it typical but it starts with tragedy (which i like it) to build readers emphaty. The first 6 chapters seems little too fast for me, the story move quite sudden. Instead detailling how untalented individual able to draws qi from heaven and earth, this story simply punch it with the 'benevolent' environment that provide with abundance of resources. Perhaps providing readers with more struggling conditions will encouraging them to build more imaginations about the scene and setting. I'm still wondering about what's the parasol tree looks like and many secret realms in which the MC indulged with.

I want to start by saying that altough I don't recommend it I think some people might enjoy it.

For me it is a no from chapter 6. As a summary I would say that this 6 chapters feel rushed, lack depth and complexity, and are also missing further details and explanations to feel immersed and that there is a whole "world" beyond just the MC.

*If you are a veteran reading this kind of novels I'd suggest reading something else.

(CAREFUL LITTLE "SPOILER") A thing that has been the last straw for me, among many others that you can check by yourselves if you decide to give it a try, is that by chapter 6 there has been at least 2 badly used time skips.

Idk maybe the start is not that big of a deal for you guys and can enjoy the later chapters of the novel. Will keep coming to see if that is the case.
