The movement of an individual grain of sand forms one timeline. But atop that one particular timeline will be a second grain of sand. The first grain and the second grain have the same substructure, but different timelines.0

The interactions cause more timelines, leading to mass chaos, and in the end, this desert. In order to combine them all back into one, you would have to travel within time, but also be outside of time and independent. In that way, you could gain control.7
