Although Xu Qing only had a limited understanding of godly authority, he did have significant experience with it, whether because of his own godly authority, or by means of interacting with other gods.0

For instance, he knew that godly authority and essence were different. Godly authority was much more ancient, and it was an authority that was unique to gods. Thēy could influence all things. They could affect any living being. And they were spread throughout the thirty-six star rings in the starry sky. That was because this was a universe of gods.1

Simultaneously, godly authority was divided into two levels. The first level was the type that was split between those who qualified to use it. The other was the type that was unique to an individual. When it came to the former, it led to a situation in which various gods were forced to either cooperate or compete over it. Only by devouring all other gods with the same type of godly authority could the second level be reached. Anyone who succeeded at that would be the sole possessor of that type of godly authority.1

Based on Xu Qing’s earlier understanding, the rare individuals who reached that level were the True Gods.
