Chapter 209: I Am Qin Lie!

Ling Yushi’s vision grew blurry as tears gathered in her eyes.

She just looked at Qin Lie, looking at his no longer unfamiliar face and at his extremely cold and decisive eyes. She watched as Qin Lie protected her once again…

At this point, all of the confusion in her heart completely disappeared.

At long last, she finally understood why she and her sister were able to receive preferential treatment from Armament Sect. She finally understood why this “Qin Bing” of Armament Sect was willing to supply all of the spirit materials without taking a single spirit stone and why he insisted on forging artifacts for her and her sister. She finally understood why he wouldn’t stop until he succeeded!

She finally understood why Lu Li had been stopped outside the gate and why Lu Li wasn’t allowed to take even a single step into Armament Sect!

She also now understood why she had constantly felt an inexplicable sense of familiarity when she had faced him.

…From the start, it had been the person she loved, her lover that she had dreamed of and searched so long for—it was the person who she had wanted to meet all this time!

So he was actually Qin Lie.

Ling Yushi pursed her lips, her fragrant shoulders trembling. Her beautiful,tear-filled eyes were both tightly fixated on Qin Lie.

Ling Xuanxuan’s body incessantly quivered as an intense glow emerged within her clear eyes as she too stared at Qin Lie.

“It’s him again, it’s him again…” she thought in her mind.

During their time in Ling Town, when their family suffered the persecution of Du Haitian, it was Qin Lie who had come forward during their time of distress and helped their Ling Family escape from calamity.

After her father and family members had been killed, it had been Qin Lie once again as he, unafraid of death, stepped onto the street and, under everyone’s gazes, killed Du Haitian. He then even eliminated Du Fei, Du Jiaolan, and Du Heng, taking revenge that not even the two sisters would have been able to carry out.

And today, as they were about to die, Qin Lie, who had mysteriously disappeared so long ago, was actually miraculously standing in front of them!

Qin Lie just stood there in front of everyone, not afraid at all of inciting the displeasure of Armament Sect, as he protected their lives!

As Ling Xuanxuan looked at Qin Lie, her eyes also gradually began to redden as tears started to fall from the corners of her eyes.

“The Ling Family, it owes you so much, so so much…” silently thought Ling Xuanxuan.

At the plaza, the Blood Spear martial practitioners who had originally desired to killed Lu Li, Ling Yushi, and their group immediately paused, their bodies becoming still as they didn’t dare act rashly.

Ying Xingran and the rest were also stunned.

Shi Jingyun, Wu Tuo, and Su Ziying were also baffled as they all subconsciously looked towards Qin Lie. They couldn’t understand why he would act so perversely.

The plaza had become completely silent in an instant.

“Crack crack crack! Swish swish swish!”

Only the long, blood speckled chains were left as they drifted around in the sky and on the ground, striking fear into everyone’s minds.

“Qin Bing, why do you want them to live? Could it be that between you and them…” asked Sect Master Ying Xingran, breaking the moment of silence. His brows were deeply furrowed, and his eyes were full of confusion.

He believed that Qin Lie had set his sights on the two sisters, and that Qin Lie was going to lock them up to vent his anger on them with obscene intentions in mind.

There were several others who had the same thoughts. For example, Wu Tuo, Su Ziying, and Shi Jingyun…

Upon realizing the meaning in Ying Xingran’s words, Shi Jingyun’s face immediately became frosty as he sternly shouted, “Brat, if you dare do anything reckless to Yushi and Xuanxuan, the forces of Seven Fiends Valley won’t stop until you die!”

As he said those words, all of the gazes towards Qin Lie suddenly became weird.

Even the expressions of the Blood Spear practitioners, Tong Jihua’s people, as well as Lang Xie, sunk.

Just so that he could indulge in his selfish desires, so that he could fulfill his evil desires, he was willing to ignore the great losses of the sect and not take revenge for the sect? Furthermore, he was even willing to impede their revenge?

The expressions of many of the Armament Sect members all became ugly as their gazes towards Qin Lie gradually became filled with traces of coldness.

“Qin Bing, must you insist on protecting their lives? Are you actually going to ignore the hatred and animosity of the sect?” Lang Xie’s face was solemn as he walked out from beside Ying Xingran and moved closer to Qin Lie. “Blood Spear has lost a great deal, and even more outer sect foreign delegates have died. Many outer sect disciples also tragically died within the city. As for you, even though you are the future sect master, you actually don’t care about the losses and only care for your own selfish desires? Are you actually going to clash with the sect?”

Armament Sect had indeed suffered heavy losses. During this war, the outer sect had suffered a great number of casualties amongst its foreign delegates, elders, and disciples. Blood Spear had also lost a great number of practitioners.

Lang Xie wanted the enemy to pay a great price. He wanted to take the fresh blood of all of the young generations and retinues of the five forces to pay homage to the deceased. It was completely understandable.

At this time, even Ying Xingran and the three great reverends, who were originally not willing to truly offend Profound Heaven Alliance and Eight Extreme Temple all silently agreed.

Did Qin Lie have to have an opposing opinion?

Lang Xie was unable to accept it!

“If I didn’t care about the sect, Armament Sect wouldn’t have survived till you returned,” silently thought Qin Lie for a moment. Then, he coldly said, “If I didn’t care for the sect, I wouldn’t have returned. If I didn’t care for the sect, Sect Master and the three great reverends would have died long ago. If I didn’t care for the sect, Liang Yangzu and Yuan Tianya wouldn’t have died!”

As he turned to Lang Xie and the sect master, as well as the three great reverends and the practitioners of Blood Spear, he continued, “What I have done is even more than what you have, Lang Xie. The reason that Armament Sect still hasn’t been exterminated is not due to you, Lang Xie, but because of me!”

As he made his remark, profound expressions emerged atop the faces of everyone within the plaza.

Even Ying Xingran and the three great reverends, along with the elders and disciples of the inner and outer sects, were all silenced.

At this time, their gazes, which had looked at Qin Lie so perversely before, all gradually returned back to normal.

Indeed, the person who had allowed Armament Sect to stand until now wasn’t Lang Xie, but Qin Lie!

As long as one wasn’t a fool, one would observe that Xue Li only listened to Qin Lie. If not for Qin Lie’s orders, Xue Li wouldn’t have killed Blood Shadow, Liang Yangzu, or Yuan Tianya.

If Blood Shadow hadn’t died, Ying Xingran and the three great reverends would have already been turned into corpses, and the blood flowing atop the plaza would have long since become a river!

The ones who died should have been the people of Armament Sect, but now, it was different. Instead, the ones who were dying were the practitioners of the five great forces!

This was entirely due to Qin Lie!

“You could have done better.” Lang Xie was silent for a very long time, but didn’t deny that Qin Lie had done a lot for the sect. Finally, he said, “You are the future sect master. For the sect, you could have done a lot more. If you can put down your selfish desires, our brothers who have died will be able to rest more peacefully down below!”

“To be honest, I am not quite enticed by the position of sect master of Armament Sect.” Qin Lie furrowed his brows.

Under the intent stares of everyone in the plaza, he reached out with one of his hands and touched his left cheek. Afterwards, he suddenly pulled, pulling off a beautiful, skin-like mask.

A delicate, handsome face which was unfamiliar to the vast majority of the people atop the plaza unexpectedly appeared in front of everyone’s eyes, one which was also reflected into their minds!

“I am Qin Lie.” He looked calmly at everyone within the plaza.

“QIN LIE!”

A shrill cry suddenly pierced through the empty air.

—The cry’s origin was Lu Li.

At this moment, upon seeing Qin Lie after he removed his mask, Lu Li, whose expression had been indifferent even at the time when her death seemed imminent, had actually begun involuntarily screaming.

“Qin Lie!”

“Icestone City’s Qin Lie! The Qin Lie who killed Du Haitian!”

“It’s actually Qin Lie! It’s actually him!”

“Heavens. To think that it was Qin Lie! No wonder, no wonder he wants to protect the Ling Family sisters. So that’s why, so that’s why!”

“……”

At the plaza, it was as if everyone had been placed into a deep frying pan as each and every one of them began to shout out in shock. They all looked at Qin Lie, utterly flabbergasted.

At this moment, Qin Lie’s perverse intentions suddenly became clear. Everyone instantly understood.

Even Lang Xie, upon recovering from shock, was no longer acting aggressively as he nodded and said, “I no longer have any complaints.”

“This… this is how it should be.” All of the Armament Sect’s members inwardly nodded as the doubts within their minds were all completely cleared.

To protect one’s own fiancee, to protect one’s loved ones, who could say anything about that?

Thus, all of the people of Armament Sect calmly accepted this matter.

Everyone except one person—Tang Siqi.

Tang Siqi stood below one of the spirit pattern pillars. From the moment Qin Lie had made his request to protect Ling Yushi and Ling Xuanxuan, her eyes had become dejected, as if she had become incomparably lonely.

As for now, after Qin Lie revealed his true identity, her beautiful face had begun to show an even deeper sadness and helplessness. In addition, her eyes were filled with bitterness.

“So… so you already had someone you loved all this time. Your reason for coming to Armament Sect really had nothing to do with me at all. To think, to think that it was always me misunderstanding you. It was me making something out of nothing this entire time…”

Within the group of people, Tang Siqi was still enticingly beautiful, and her figure was still as sexy and attractive as before… she normally would have been the focus of everyone.

And indeed, she was still the most eye-catching girl atop the plaza.

However, at this moment, standing in the midst of all of the Armament Sect practitioners, she seemed sad, lonely, and helpless.

She looked like someone who had been abandoned within the vast emptiness of the wild…

“Sect Master, I don’t feel so good so I’m going to return to the mountain first.” After standing there for a while, she suddenly felt an intolerable sourness within her heart and discovered that she no longer had the courage to stay here for even another moment. Tossing out this one sentence, she hurriedly turned around and left.

“Sigh…” The nearby Feng Rong sighed, shaking her head. She didn’t know what to say.

“Qi-Qin Lie…” Ying Xingran ignored Tang Siqi’s departure, and after thinking for a while, deeply stared in Qin Lie’s direction, saying, “Half a year prior, I said that Armament Sect didn’t care about your identity or origin, and that as long as you were willing to remain at Armament Sect, the sect would do everything it could to develop you! Right now, let me ask you again, are you willing to stay at Armament Sect? Are you willing… to bear the appropriate responsibilities as a disciple of Armament Sect?”

“If I didn’t, then I would not still be here during the sect’s crisis.” Qin Lie calmly said, “If I didn’t, I would be outside somewhere like Yi Yuan, Pang Feng, and Ouyang Jingjing.”

Ying Xingran’s body convulsed as he energetically nodded and said, “Good!”

“With your words, no matter your past, you are still a member of our Armament Sect!” shouted Luo Zhichang.

As Luo Zichang’s remark fell, Qin Lie suddenly chuckled—this was the first time he had laughed while in Armament City!

He no longer had to deliberately use Frost Arts to protect his “Qin Bing” persona and thus was able to be himself again. Since he no longer had to hide, he was finally able to return to his normal self.

“We will not touch Ling Yushi and Ling Xuanxuan. As for the rest, can we kill them now?” Lang Xie once again looked towards Qin Lie.

This time, Qin Lie grinned and nodded his head.

Thus, Lang Xie waved his hand. “KILL!”

“Qin Lie, I beg you to find a means to let Senior Sister Lu live,” suddenly pleaded Ling Yushi.

“Shut up! I don’t want him to spare my life!” coldy shouted Lu Li.

“Qin Lie, during my time at Dark Fiend Valley, Senior Sister Lu constantly looked after us. She treated us very well, please!” also begged Ling Xuanxuan.

Qin Lie furrowed his brows.

At this time, Lang Xie, seemingly understanding the situation or perhaps understanding Qin Lie’s predicament, took initiative and said, “Lu Li can live.”

Afterwards, the nine experts of Blood Spear, along with even more Blood Spear practitioners, Tong Jihua, and the outer sect elders, as well as Lang Xie himself, all made their moves as they hunted down and killed all of the people of the five now leaderless forces.

  1. So he finally revealed his true identity.
I dont really feel bad for Tang Siqi since she always misunderstand Qin Lie all of the time and think that she is special woman.

    1. To be fair… almost every young man was that way.

She got interested in one of the only 2 people that weren’t interested in her. The chances of the guys not liking her was less than 0.02% (and I’m being generous).

And EVERYONE misunderstood him that way, because that was the only logical conclusion.

And when she was realizing that he might not have cared, everyone else pushed even more that he must to have liked her.

And she was special. Even Qin Lie couldn’t help but have some feelings towards her. In the end, he already had someone else.

In fact, if he didn’t have to hide his identity, then this issue probably wouldn’t have happened.

Because he hid his identity, he couldn’t let others know he already had a lover. As such, it was near impossible for people to think that he wasn’t gunning for Tang Siqi.

      And think about it.

A girl almost everyone wanted to be with, and the MC would fight for her, protect her honor, treats her pretty well, and was willing to risk his life for her.

And he came with a group of what was mostly suiters…

She’s super beautiful, has high status, is actually a really good person, good amount of power and talent…. she’s basically the dream for most young men.

Frankly, thinking he wasn’t into her would be weird.

    2. Why feel bad for her? There is a harem tag after all.

I feel like he needs her anyways, as this story will most likely follow most of these stories’ tropes: They spend the longest time focusing on a trade, just to trash it in later parts of the story. BOOM! You have the chick that was doing it too join the harem, so when he trashes the skill, the skill is still relevant since she is there too!

Tang Siqi for Harem ’16: Keeping Spirit Patterns Relevant, so Qin Lie doesn’t have to!

  2. Even Pang Feng and the others who had joined Armament Sect? It seems strange to have introduced so many young characters that could be friends/rivals for Qin Lie, and just get rid of them here and now.

    1. Honestly, I don’t think Pang Feng will die. And Yi Yuan is outside of the sect with Lian Rou, so they should be able to escape too. Having said that, I don’t actually care all that much about these characters. Not right now, at least.

    2. Really? Isn’t it quite common in Chinese fantasy for the MC to meet a lot of young people his age and then have them be forgotten, and never met again?

The MC will keep on going to new stronger areas and fight the younger generation of that area, and then surpass them and move on to the next level.

      1. It’s pretty darn redundant to have that fighting scene with Peng Fang, especially after the narrative bothered to tell us how much Qin Lie is so much stronger than Peng Feng, the mighty mountain of the young generation — and have Qin Lie feel somewhat proud to feel like he was acknowledged by Peng Feng in terms of strength…And then just kill him off later.

What’s the point of that entire “Guko vs Vegita shounen blossoming friendship through fists” segment if the story will just kill him off? It makes more sense to just kill Peng Feng early on, or not even try to make us sympathize with him. The way the story was written thus far, makes me doubt he’d actually die, and if he will, it’d just seem outright silly.

        1. Doesnt that actually make the story moire engaging. You learn to know a character and wis to se them develop and grow with the hero/ story only to have them torn away by the vicissitudes of fate. Much like real life.

    1. Dude, you realize that it wasn’t that obvious to her, right?

In fact, it wasn’t obvious to anyone.

This was a girl which almost every male but one person wanted to marry, and QIn Bing showed quite a bit of care for Tang Siqi. And even he showed attraction to her. If he wasn’t already taken, he’d definitely go for her.

And no one knew that he was Qin Lie. Because he had to hide his identity, he also had to hide the fact that he already had a lover.

If you come with a crowd of fanboys, it’s quite easy to be mistaken as one.

      1. Orly?
I rarely do this, but this topic needs to die decisively —

“I heard it.” Qin Lie inhaled deeply and calmly said, “Senior Sister Tang, you have overthought. I have come to Armament Sect because I am interested in artifact forging. I’m here to learn artifact forging, not for someone. Also, I have someone in my heart already. I once promised her that I will go find her one day.

He looked at Tang Siqi and asserted with certainty, “Senior Sister Tang, please do not worry. I have not come to Armament Sect for you! So you do not need to be on your guard all the time with me or work against me! If Senior Sister Tang is still dissatisfied with me, you can tell Elder Tong and change assistants. You can even fire me, I will not object.”

        -Chapter 142

Dude, you realize that it wasn’t that obvious to her, right? In fact, it wasn’t obvious to anyone.

Yes, yes it was. It was just that the author completely forgot what he himself had written, had blissfully retconned his own words in order to continue the harem-anime routine, or to show that Siqi is so full of herself that she’s capable of selective hearing.

      1. And the MC tried to kill it, by explaining the misunderstanding after he was cured of the eclipse-insects’ poison. An explanation which was completely ignored, it seems.

        1. Yes but then he saved her from being kicked out and said he will get her back everything. When she asked if it was really for her he said 10~20% and she was happy with it. At that point she started to nurture genuine feelings for him so I guess she wanted what he said earlier about having a lover a lie and the reality of the current situation just hurts her. Not counting the secret tunnel stuff. What started out as a big misunderstanding blossomed into genuine feelings.

      1. Well it is true, that it is her “fault” for thinking Qin Lie liked her. She is also not completely wrong either because they did have a few moments where Qin Lie was faltering.

And I think it is a bad idea to say that she is at “fault”, because no wrongdoing has been done. She feels down that she isnt who Qin Lie likes, because she obviously has feelings for him. She hasn’t done anything “Wrong”, she simply feels sad that she isnt the one he loves. Sure she had a bit of an ego, but nothing wrong with that. She wasn’t sure if Qin Lie liked her or not due to Lian Rou telling her it was all a ploy, so she probably thought that him saying he had someone in his heart was some sort of lie. Again, that is due to her ego that she built up from being the “Idol” that everyone loves. But this isn’t something “bad”. It is just what she thought and how she felt. That is all there is to it.

I feel there is a bit of hostility to her character which should not be here. I mean, yeah she didnt listen to him, but again this isnt some major issue or anything. She just ended up feeling a bit sad and realizing that everything he said was true. So she didn’t just forget about what Qin Lie said to clear the misunderstanding, it just finally became a reality for her. Anyone should know the bitter feeling when you see someone you like have feelings for someone else or just not have feelings for you.

As I said though, there is nothing wrong here. Nothing was forgotten either, it was just simply smacking her in the face as she finally understood. But that doesnt mean that it would be wrong for her to have feelings for him. Feelings can never be wrong, Opinions can never be wrong. Actions can be wrong, so if she threw a fit and started giving Qin Lie a hard time, then yes, go ahead and diss on her. However she isn’t doing ANYTHING wrong. So everything is still all good.

  3. Woo thanks for the double release!

Typo: (1) If I didn’t care about the sect, Armament Sect wouldn’t have survived till you returned,” silently though Qin Lie for a moment.
    Should be
If I didn’t care about the sect, Armament Sect wouldn’t have survived till you returned,” silently *thought* Qin Lie for a moment.

    (2) Is it Liang Yangzu or Liang Shaoyang (Liang Shaoyang appears many times in this chapter where as in previous chapters it was Liang Yangzu)

      1. Just more of an overreaction from my part. Her attitude to the MC is crap. But she treated the sisters well so it’s fine she lives. My comment was just an outburst to her annoyance.

    1. Idk, I don’t feel like she is has done anything worthy of DEATH… I mean sure, she is a jerk. But ya know, if ya just kill everyone for something so small, then no one would be left.

  4. If I was Qin Lie, after Lu Li’s outburst I would be shouting “Yeah! I’m Qin Lie! Look at mah face!!! Loookk attt ittttttt!!! *cough* Pardon me, everyone.”

The instances of Liang Shaoyang should be Liang Yangzu.

  5. Actually I kinda feel bad about Tang Siqi, if not for Lian Rou’s few sentences reminding her that Qin Lie came to armament sect for her, she wouldn’t have misunderstood, and that Lu B*tch deserve to die.

    Thanks for the chapter!!

    1. Seriously, why does everyone hate Lu Li so much? Holy crap, who’s family did she murder, whose 5 limbs did she dismember?
Yeah, she’s a cold hearted wanker, but I cannot recall even one instance in which she actively made the story worse. She was mostly just there, in the background.

      1. She was horrible to Qin Lie when the sisters left Ling Town, horrible about the fact he should just forget Yushi. She was a bitch and Qin Lie doesn’t like her (thus he didn’t let her into the Sect) and doesn’t give a damn about her (hence he doesn’t mind if she gets killed, if not for the sisters’ request).

    2. I mean, Tang Siqi kinda convinced herself as well. Though either way, nothing to feel bad about. It was her own feelings. She liked him, and didnt feel the same way for her. Thee End. Nothing bad about it, just how things go. So I don’t feel bad for her, but I dont dislike her either. And just because he likes someone else, doesnt mean she has to give up. I mean in the culture of Wuxia, usually polygamy and such is rather normal. However, she could even try to win his heart for herself still. So again, nothing really to feel bad for, she simply was just realizing everything Qin Lie had said was reality. Though, she is obviously important to the story, so I don’t think she will just be forgotten. I could be wrong doe.

  6. Isn’t Pang Feng right there ? I think it mentioned in the last chapter that he wanted to see what decision Qin Lie would make .
Also , from like 2 chapters back i could have guessed that Yushi would tell him to let Lu Li live . Yeah , meh she might have been good to her but she was a bitch to Qin Lie right ? But i know he would make the stupid decision to let her live even tough she wanted to kill him and was pretty serious about it but meh, Qin Lie never was in danger in the first place , this all is a game he’s playing with himself .

  7. Bloody hell do these comments have hate for Lu Li.

One of the biggest flaws I find with all the hate is no one puts themselves into the shoes of these chosen.

He was someone with a small amount of promise and a decent amount of drive from her perspective. She has probably seen hundreds of people like that in her time, all of who had failed to achieve even close to what he has.

Hell as a top level disciple she has probably seen a copper rank disciple maybe once on a visiting trip with her master, and they probably barely above our MC.

As the sisters said, she has treated them with only kindness, and yet they pose a threat of taking resources that her master would have traditionally given to her.
He further more never put in any effort to kindly explain his stance. And instead only after with arrogance, and while it is arrogance he has now proven he can back up, how was she to know.?

    1. most of ppl does not try to put themself in the shoes of the characters they curse at… sometimes even the “villains” are better than the mc…

another example is Lian Rou, ppl are mad at her because her stupids advices in love… but like, she is a girl, with only one friend, OFC they will talk about this once in while.

      1. That’s an instance in which — it doesn’t matter if it’s realistic, or “right”. The very fact it’s there, is not necessarily fun to read. Rou feels like she was just there to add that pointless “misunderstanding harem anime lul” humor. Even if “it makes sense”, it’s not fun to read. Not one bit.
But regarding Lu Li — that’s where I am a bit confused. She hardly had any form of antagonistic spotlight in the story after she berated the MC for being weak at Ling Town.

        1. She insulted him a lot unfairly when she saw him the next time after delivering some resources from Ling Yushi; resources he gave to her family since they were useless to him. She also insulted him a lot to other people right after. I just went back and read it, it was at chapter 113

          1. Are insults something punishable by death? I mean sure, the strong get to decide what happens. However, I think Qin Lie is above holding such petty grudges. He is stronger than her by a lot, has a uber powerful servant, god like bloodline, supernatural talent, and much more. She isnt even a threat, so killing her would just be out of spite. There is no reason he should lower himself to kill her.

There is that, and also the fact that being kind to your enemies can (at times) yield greater benefits than killing them. Of course if it is your blood feud rival who will stop at nothing to make your life hell, then yes. Kill them. However, if it is someone who is just kinda annoying to you, why should you kill them? Especially when you know they have been helping people who you love? I mean, logically speaking it is just better all around to keep her alive.

  8. thanks for the chapter!

    so… just a question.

the copper powers valued the Mo guy and said to let nothing happen to him, but Qin Bing is obviously more talended than him and was given the death sentence??
no, is not because of talent, the Mo guy right now is stronger than Qin Bing, plus Qin Bing is still developing, this would make the sect that gets him gain a future expert too.

    1. I also do not understand why they wanted to save one talent, but kill off immediately the other. Possibly because one is easier to control? That’s where my devil’s advocate line of thought ends.

    2. Mo Hai since long time ago have been expressing his thoughs of leaving the sect to further improve himself.

Qin Lie on the other hand is living symbol of sect. As long as he live there will be people thinking about fighting till the end without surrending themselves to anyone.

Don’t forget two other things – first development of artificer is freaking costly as hell and time consuming – why should anyone want to wait for long time in order for him to reach the level Mo Hai is at the minute? Taking in count how Qin Lie is a symbol of sect many artificers will chose to die and don’t surrender themselves with thoughs “as long as Qin Lie will live our Sect will stand straight again in the future”.

Second thing – both Towers want Qin Lie dead for killing Liang Shaoyang. Why should anyone take him in and potentially wage a war with those Black Iron forces?

For them it’s less problematic if he is dead.
