Chapter 19. Justifiable Misunderstanding

Jaemin hesitantly asked, “Big brother, didn’t you meet your mother?”

Woojin frowned, “Shit. My house is too small. I’ll inconvenience you until I buy a proper house.”

Even though the price of land in Seoul had dropped, it was still an unthinkable amount of money for a normal person like Jaemin.

He’s asking to live here and mooch off me until he can buy a house?

Woojin chuckled at the complicated expression on Jaemin’s face, “It won’t take long for me to leave, so don’t worry about it. Big bro here made 13,000,000 won today and will be getting another 4000 won soon.”

Jaemin’s voice was strained, “That… that isn’t it. My elder sister comes here on weekends.”

Woojin’s expression grew more understanding, “Ah, is that so?”

Jaemin sighed, “I’ll call her tomorrow. Oh yea, does big brother know my sister? She recognized your name.”

Woojin took a second to think, “Uh? What’s your sister’s name?”

Jaemin replied, “Her name is Do Jiwon.”

Woojin stared at the ceiling, thinking. When realization struck him, his eyes widened, “Do Jiwon? The so called third class’ Jun Jihyun?”

Jaemin nodded, “Mmmm. She’s my sister, so it’s a little bit weird to talk about her like this. But she used to be called that in school.”

Woojin looked Jaemin up and down, and nodded, “Huh huh. You’re Jiwon’s little brother?”

It made sense to Woojin. He’d always thought Jaemin was good looking, and now he’d found out that Do Jiwon was his elder sister. Good genes seemed to run in the family. It’d been twenty years, but Woojin still remembered Do Jiwon.

She used to be famous for being the most beautiful girl in the entire school. Woojin had also had a crush on Jiwon, but back then, he had been too shy.

Well, if he met her right now, he would have…

Woojin asked, “Where does your sister live for her to only visit on weekends?”

Jaemin replied, “She’s at a factory.”

Woojin couldn’t imagine Jiwon working at a factory, “What? A factory? Do Jiwon? If she needed money, then she should have become a celebrity instead.”

Jaemin’s face grew a shade darker, “There… there was an incident. Anyways, big brother, you switched your phone?”

Woojin glanced at his phone, “Uh. I swapped it on the way back.”

Jaemin was openly admiring, “Wow. This is a really expensive one. Can I see it?”

Woojin relaxed, “Is that so? Is it a good one?”

Jaemin picked it up carefully, “Hul. This is a Crazy Red.”

Woojin questioned, “Crazy Red?”

Jaemin was flicking through the phone in amazement, “It uses Bloodstone technology, so it’s really expensive. Big brother must have made a lot of money?”

As a material that held an enormous amount of energy inside, Bloodstones had been a new avenue of research for Earth. After five years, the technology was now slowly seeping into everyday objects.

Battery technology in particular had taken a quantum leap forward.

Woojin shrugged, “He exchanged it for free.”

Jaemin blurted, “What? This was free?”

Woojin nodded, “Well, it was an event. An event.”

It was a once in a lifetime event where the salesman’s life was on the line.

Jaemin sighed, “Hul. You are lucky. This is really expensive.”

It seemed the phone salesman had a conscience after all. Woojin let go of the little grudge he held against him.

Jaemin was more excited about the phone than its actual owner. He was still explaining its functions when a message notification popped up.

Ddrring

Jaemin looked at the line on top of the screen, and his eyes widened.

<xxBank>

 9. 13. 21:13

Deposit - 400,000

Total - 53,130,000

xxBank - Hong Sunggoo

Jaemin murmured, “Huh. How many zeroes are there?”

Jaemin glanced from the bank figure to Woojin. His Awakened card said F Rank, but he could earn 13,000,000 in half a day and an additional 400,000 just popped up in his account.

Jaemin couldn’t help but look at Woojin in a different light, “Bi-big bro, you’re very capable.”

Woojin snatched his phone back and frowned, “That bastard. I told him to send four bills.”

Woojin immediately dialed Hong Sunggoo.

The amount is getting on my nerves.

Before the first ring ended, Sunggoo picked up his phone.

[He-hello? Big bro, did you check the deposit?]

“Hey, asshole. You think I’m some kind of beggar? Didn’t I tell you to send just four bills? What is this?”

[Of course. When you said four bills, you meant those four bills.]

The sound was muffled, as if Sunggoo had put his hand over the mic. But Woojin’s hearing was now rather sensitive, so he heard.

He frowned, “What are you talking about?”

[Big brother, I need to talk to you face to face. Please tell me your address.]

Woojin was confused, “What? Why do you want to find me?”

[I’ll explain everything once I get there. Where are you, big brother?]

Sunggoo’s voice sounded desperate, so Woojin gave him the address.

[There is a large café called Angel Angel near there. I’ll be there in 10 minutes.]

Sunggoo hurriedly ended the call.

Woojin stared at his phone, puzzled, “This bastard. What’s up with him?”

If Sunggoo had just told him his account number, he would have returned the 360,000, so why did he want to meet up?

Woojin shrugged, “Since we’re out of alcohol, I’ll go grab some. Meanwhile, you eat the chicken.”

Jaemin nodded excitedly, “Yes, big brother.”

Woojin added, “Change the front door’s password to the original one.”

Abashed, Jaemin nodded, “…Yes.”

Woojin decided he would buy some more soju, meet up with Sunggoo and give him back his money. Once he left, Jaemin was left alone, so he took another sip of the soju.

He frowned, “Kkkkk. Seriously, why do people drink this?”

He popped open a can of cola and washed the flavor out of his mouth. Bored, he started flicking through his phone.

He glanced at the cologne, “This should be expensive.”

Jaemin checked the cologne’s brand, and his mouth dropped open when he searched for the model.

Two… two hundred thousand won?

This was too expensive for a high schooler to use without feeling guilty. Moreover, he rarely used cologne. If he’d smoked, then he would’ve been more tempted.

“I guess big brother spends based on his emotions? He’s spending recklessly since he’s making money.”

Jaemin grew restless when he caught sight of the 500,000 won on the table. His sister was probably slaving away at the factory at that moment, but her annual income was less than the 13,000,000 Woojin made in a single day.

As Jaemin waited for Woojin to return, he logged into an online community he frequented and wrote a post.

[Brothers. I got a perfume for a present. About 3 days ago, I met a big brother by coincidence and let him sleep in my rented room for a day. He bought me a cologne and he also gave me 500,000 won. Isn’t it a real windfall? Currently, I’m eating chicken and alcohol. Big brother went out to buy more alcohol since we are out. He has a lot of money.

Jaemin uploaded a picture of the cologne as proof and waited for everyone else to react.

Ddring, ddring.

The replies were instantaneous.

[??? OP, be careful of your backside.]

[Perfume, rented room, success.]

[Today real shared room???]

[???? That big bro will move to your next door neighborhood.]

[He isn’t getting alcohol. He probably went to get condoms.]

[Stupid. He won’t get pregnant so why buy condoms.]

[What, stupid. Then enema.]

[????? He said enema.]

[OP, it isn’t too late. Throw away your rented room and guard your behind.]

[So who will be the bottom?]

[?? The person who paid will be the top.]

[Congratulation on your anal’s grand opening!]

[What is anal?]

[Your asshole, you stupid mofo.]

[Request butt. Monitor ready in front.]

Jaemin frowned. “Tsk. If they are jealous then they should just say so. Why do a gay comedy?”

Jaemin continued to read the posts being posted, and he glanced at the front door. Mmm, he wouldn’t do that.

He won’t.

The delicious chicken suddenly tasted like rubber. Was he deluding himself….?

Ah, he probably won’t.
