New Translation: I Shall Seal the Heavens – Chapter 1

I Shall Seal the Heavens

I’m very pleased to announce a new translation here at Wuxiaworld, I Shall Seal the Heavens by Er Gen. This is a Xianxia novel of many hundreds of chapters. It is about a poor scholar named Meng Hao who gets wrapped up in the world of Immortals, and wishes to “seal the Heavens.”

For those who want to jump right into chapter 1, here is the link:

Chapter 1 – Scholar Meng Hao
Translated by Deathblade
Contributing Editor: Madam Deathblade
Proofreaders: Lingson and laoren

If you’re more patient, here are a few more notes:

One of RWX’s requirements to post this translation here was that I guarantee regular updates, and also guarantee to finish! So don’t worry, there are more chapters to come. A lot more. Unfortunately, I can’t match the speed of CD, at least for now. My updates will be a bit slow at first (5 per week). Hopefully, once I get into a rhythm, I can increase speed.

I try to make my translations as accurate as possible. However, Chinese sentence and paragraph structure is often very different than English, so sometimes I switch around the order of words, sentences, etc. to make it flow better in English. However, I don’t change the meaning of anything. That having been said, I am not perfect, so if you notice any errors, please feel free to send me a message.

Okay, if you’ve managed to read this far, then stop listening to my blathering and check out: Chapter 1 – Scholar Meng Hao.

    1. Really amazing work. Thanks for your hard work and awesome translation. I’m glad someone is taking the time to share this genre in English.

  1. Author is Er Gen eh?He also writes Xian Ni.If it’s any indication we’re in for some angst and extreme cliffhangers.Total BAMFs and some more angst.Hope this is less confusing, because Xian Ni was so confusing many dropped it at the start(I still follow it and it became so much more better).Wish you luck in translating this.I’ll start reading this when it has like 10+ chapters out.

  2. ♥Thank you for the chapter my wonderful friends♥
Xianxia novel: I Shall Seal the Heavens (我欲封天)
    Author: Er Gen (耳根)

    Hosted by: WuxiaWorld

  3. Seems like you picked it up since the one who translated Xian Ni didn’t get a chance to jump into it ? 😛 I recall he mentioned wanting to translate it *shrug* Either way, thanks for another novel to read. I will wait till at least the first arc/book is done before starting to read. Solves the prologue/boring portion a tad easier. World building tends to be the boring portion but this author tends to throw in world building chapters in midst of it all so one never knows.

  4. Folks, this is a REALLY good one that I’ve been wanting to see deathblade do, because he’s an awesome translator, so I’ve been badgering at him for weeks (literally) to consider it 😀

  5. Thanks Deathblade for the translation and RWX for recommanding this novel 😀 , Xian Ni being so interesting (eventho hard to understand sometimes^^) I hope this one to be on the same level.

    1. One of the reasons why Xian Ni is occasionally harder to understand is (with no disrespect to Void Translations) that Void is a pure machine translator, and with all machine translation, no matter how good, there’s parts that are guesswork and parts which the machine will, simply put, get wrong. deathblade, I am confident won’t 😀

      1. That’s right, everything is hand-typed by me, and every character I don’t understand looked up in the dictionary. If I don’t understand phrases, expressions, etc. I will baidu it, or ask a native speaker. Hopefully this translation won’t be confusing at all (well at least not in translation aspects, I can’t vouch for Er Gen’s imagination haha).

  6. Welcome and Thank You for bringing us another translation to feed our deadly addiction !!

Edit: Oh wait, its Deathblade hahahaha nevermind on the first part, but still thanks for FURTHER feeding our addiction !! XD

  7. hey what do you mean confusing and dropped? this story fast update and intense, one of my favorite. void translation and flowerbridge work together for this novel so it’s same like CD fast update.

    Xian ni fan.

    1. Welcome to the community, oisshi! 🙂 I actually didn’t realize Flowerbridge was working on Xianni as well; I thought this was primarily (only?) a Void translation novel!

  8. Ahh. So this is where it all began. My first visit to WW is way earlier than this, to read CD. It’s an occasional visit to the website, so I guess I didn’t notice the rise of this. I started reading when DB already translated a little over 150 chaps..
