Chapter 1389: Stand Behind Me!

Outside of Planet South Heaven, there were still millions of Outsiders who were trembling after having just survived a horrific catastrophe. It was something they would never be able to forget.

However… now that the spell formation was gone, Planet South Heaven… had lost its defenses. Gradually, the Outsiders’ eyes began to glow red. It was hard to say who began the charge, but soon, the entire army was raging toward Planet South Heaven!

It was also in this moment that, at the very apex of the starry sky, in the location where the 33 Heavens came from, things had been very silent since the descent of Dao Fang. But now, the starry sky there began to distort, as though a force of killing intent was pushing its way in!

At some undetectable location in the starry sky bordering the Mountain and Sea Realm in the Vast Expanse, a huge land mass was rumbling along, crushing anything that got in its way.

Dragging that land mass along were nine huge suns, radiating dazzling light!

They were coming!

Back on Planet South Heaven, the remnants of the spell formation were dissipating. As the millions of Outsiders barreled forth in attack, cracks and crevices began to appear on the surface of the planet.

Planet South Heaven was on the brink of collapsing!

All of the cultivators on the planet were coughing up blood, and up in the sky, countless Outsiders appeared and began to fight viciously. From the look of things, all creation on South Heaven… existed in the shadows of the Outsiders.

Planet South Heaven was now in a moment of indescribable crisis. Meng Hao’s father Fang Xiufeng coughed up a mouthful of blood as a hail of flying swords stabbed into him. When Meng Hao saw that happen, the entire world seemed to grind to a halt.

Even as he burst out from within the sea of blood, these were the images which filled his eyes.

“NO!” Eyes bloodshot, he performed a double-handed incantation gesture, blasting a path through the Outsider army. Countless Outsiders screamed miserably as they were transformed into ash.

Meng Hao shot with indescribable speed through the path he had created, arriving at Planet South Heaven just in time to catch his father as he began to fall down after having been stabbed through by numerous flying swords.

At the same time, he unleashed a vicious blow onto the lands down below.

The ground quaked, and yet, was not destroyed. Instead, the power rebounded, shooting up into the sky, causing a massive force to slam into the Outsiders. Miserable cries could be heard from the Outsiders in the area as massive pressure slammed into them, causing them to explode.

Instantly, all Heaven and Earth was filled with a rain of Outsider blood!

The Outsiders who were still off in the distance gasped. Looking at Meng Hao in astonishment, they began to back up, not daring to get close at all.

Meng Hao’s hair was whipping around his head. He was like a volcano erupting with a murderous aura so intense it darkened everything.

Fang Xiufeng was critically injured, but it wasn’t a fatal blow. Seeing Meng Hao appear so suddenly, he smiled, a smile filled with warmth, pride, and delight.

The arrival of Meng Hao caused excitement to ripple through the members of the Fang Clan, and all the other cultivators on Planet South Heaven began to cry out passionately.

“Meng Hao!!”

“Crown Prince!!”

“The Crown Prince is back!!’ Countless cries echoed out. Tears streamed down Meng Li’s face as she helped Fang Xiufeng out of Meng Hao’s arms. There was no time for Meng Hao to reminisce. Seeing the bloodshot eyes of Xu Qing, Fatty, Chen Fan, Sun Hai, and his sister Fang Yu, and the wounds which covered them, Meng Hao’s fury rose to new heights.

Without speaking another word, he turned and unleashed his magical techniques and divine abilities. The Paragon Bridge rumbled out, and the Mountain Consuming Incantation caused countless mountains to appear. The nearby Outsiders were incapable of evading; considering the disparity between their cultivation bases and Meng Hao’s, vast casualties were inflicted.

Meng Hao seemed completely maddened as he charged out to unleash more slaughter. However, it was at this point that the large-headed cultivator and the female Paragon came speeding over from off in the distance. Venomous hatred flickered in the Paragon’s eyes as she performing an incantation gesture, then hit herself on the top of the head. Instantly, a violet pearl shot out from her mouth, which transformed into a violet sea.

The large-headed cultivator frowned, and then his body distorted as an intense level of power erupted off of him, which merged into the violet sea as it shot toward Meng Hao.

A vicious expression twisted Meng Hao’s face as he lifted the Sun Bow and fired three arrows!

Shooting three arrows caused him to cough up blood and lose vast quantities of life force. Three arrows was his limit. Three shocking arrows. The first was like a dragon that shot toward the large-headed cultivator, and when it slammed into him, blood sprayed out of his mouth as he was sent tumbling backward. Simultaneously, the second arrow closed in on him.

The third arrow stabbed through the violet sea toward the female Paragon, causing her eyes to widen. However, the large-headed cultivator was unable to extricate himself from his own danger to rescue her, so she had no choice but to grit her teeth and let the arrow stab through her. Instantly, she exploded.

However, it didn’t result in her death. After exploding, she reformed, whereupon her face was ashen, and the hatred in her eyes toward Meng Hao was even greater than before.

“I’m going to skin you alive!!” she screamed. The life-saving magic she had just used came at a price, and that price was that she would never again be able to attain an 8-Essences cultivation base!

Because of the three spikes that had been stabbed into her, she had already been placed in a situation where it would have been difficult to return to the 8-Essences level. However, the life-saving magic she had just used fractured her Dao foundation, ensuring that it would never be possible!

Simultaneously, blood sprayed out of the mouth of the large-headed cultivator, whose body was half destroyed after dealing with the second arrow. However, he quickly began to form back together, and at the same time, a powerful gravitational force appeared, which shredded tens of thousands of nearby Outsiders to pieces. In the blink of an eye, he absorbed them, and was back at his peak level of power.

“You’ve already reached your limit with those arrows,” he said. “I didn’t really want to kill you today, but we’re on different sides. Please forgive me.” After a moment, the large-headed cultivator sighed and then began to stride toward Meng Hao.

The female Paragon’s hair was completely disheveled, and she was filled with unending venom. Once again, she slapped her forehead, spitting out a mouthful of blood that was mixed with chunks of internal organs. The blood rapidly transformed into a corrupt and defiled sea of blood which was far stronger than any of the other seas of blood she had produced.

Shockingly, she even managed to pack some of her sealed and weakened Essence into the sea of blood, making it burst with a power that rivaled the 8-Essences level.

That was something she normally wouldn’t ever do, not even if the 33 Heavens were about to lose the entire war. After all, she cared mostly about herself, and as long as there were some way to escape the situation, she would take it. But now, her Dao foundation has been crushed, dooming her to never again reach the 8-Essences level. Her hatred had reached the level of insanity, and she therefore didn’t hesitate to spit out her sealed Essence, all in exchange for the chance to unleash… an 8-Essences divine ability!

“Corrupt your heart! Defile your Dao foundation! I call upon my life force magic to decimate your blood and send your soul into eternal destruction!” Gritting her teeth, she glared at Meng Hao and the surrounding members of the Fang Clan.

“And not just you, but your whole clan! Do you really think I wasn’t aware that the damned Heaven Severing Doyen was connected to you people by soul and blood?!” That was one of the main reasons for her hatred for both Meng Hao and the Fang Clan.

Even as the words left her mouth, the corrupt, defiled sea of blood shot toward Meng Hao so quickly that he had no chance to avoid or dodge it!

Meng Hao instantly unleashed all of the power of his cultivation base, and yet it did nothing to the sea of blood. The Paragon Bridge, and even his Hexing magic were all powerless to prevent it from boring into the pores in his body.

The intense pain caused him to let out a bloodcurdling scream. His eyes bulged, and blue veins popped out all over his face. However, this divine ability had been unleashed by the female Paragon at the cost of a huge sacrifice, and was something he couldn’t match up to.

The corrupt and defiled blood vanished into him, filling every part of his body. Instantly, it began to cancel out his own blood, to attack his heart, to defile and corrupt his internal organs.

He had already been weak and injured, but now he was shaking even more violently, and his consciousness was fading. He almost seemed incapable of standing upright, and did so only by sheer willpower. Inside, he was screaming and struggling against the effects.

“Kill them all!!” the female Paragon said. Then she coughed up a mouthful of blood and sat down cross-legged, using her divine sense to manipulate the corrupt and defiled blood inside of Meng Hao. She planned to wipe him away for good!

Clearly, she wished to vent her hatred for the Heaven Severing Doyen upon the entire Fang Clan. That hatred, coupled with the fact that Meng Hao had injured her so severely, ensured that she was devoted to the idea of destroying his Dao foundation.

Roaring battle cries rang out as the Outsider army once again charged forth in attack.

The large-headed cultivator sighed quietly, and chose not to do anything. He stood off the side, watching everything play out. Deep within his eyes, he seemed somewhat confused, as if he were pondering whether or not this war should ever have been fought.

Outside of Planet South Heaven, near the Ninth Mountain, Mountain and Sea cultivators were self-detonating, dying, and being shoved back across the battlefield as countless Outsiders continued to fill the Ninth Mountain.

The Ninth Mountain was teetering, filled with countless invisible cracks and fissures which left it on the verge of being completely destroyed.

The Mountain and Sea Realm was left with a single, crumbling mountain, and a broken planet.

Meng Hao was trembling in the sky above Planet South Heaven as the female Paragon personally attempted to erode his Dao. As his blood was burned away, he continued to inch toward unconsciousness. Even his cultivation base was falling.

Laughing bitterly, Meng Hao coughed up a mouthful of black blood filled with countless vile chunks of flesh.

Gritting his teeth, he looked around at his compatriots, then rotated what was left of his cultivation base and said to them, “Stand behind me!”

With that, he strode forward to fight against the Outsiders!

Note from Er Gen: I know there are some Fellow Daoists who aren’t very happy with this war. It’s also been exhausting to write it. However, the events of the war were finalized in my original outline for the story. Thankfully, we will be reaching the conclusion of the war soon, and I won’t be writing anything like this again in the story.

    1. Somewhat shocked at how the arc is going, then I saw comments that this might be his Heart Desolation and am somewhat cheered by the possibility.
Perhaps the Mountain and Sea Realm is helping MH by showing him the ‘possible future’, when he overcomes the heart desolation he can then know their moves in advance?

One thing I also note he has NOT been using is his ‘time walk’ skill. I’d imagine that that would totally deny the Big Head cultivator from saving the 8 essence Bitch. “Come, walk into my God Slaying Fist”

Also, when the Ninth Sea betrays them, I’m totally expecting Lord Fifth to come out with his seafood troupe.
      “I am a little seafooooood dish~~~~”

      1. Those two options (along with him still being in the hells) have been my thoughts on this for a while, because otherwise a win at this point would still be meaningless.

          1. It’s so frustrating, that Meng Hao doesn’t overuse his blood demon grand magic to be at all times at peek power, and he’s desperate and cries inside. But he still doesn’t wish to use the devillish will. I think he could turn the war around with these.
Meng Hao embrace the devil you b*tch!!

      2. no wayyyyyyyyy er gen would spend over 100 chapters on something like just showing him what the future could be
i could’ve seen that happening if this arc had only gone on for about 10-15 chapters
also his mastery with the time walk technique is quite low so maybe it isn’t that effective against paragons
the last time he used it was against xuan fang to take him by surprise also he was really injured at that point (ik these two guys are also injured but not enough)

    1. Let me borrow your comment to point out one more thing that bring the entire Mountain and Sea down.

The resources in the 33 hells were supposed to be absorbed by Meng Hao so he can reach the legendary Dao Realm and turn things around, but no, Paragon Sea dream had to take a bunch of scrubs to waste everything away, even if it was to be split by many individuals, with so many people at the 4+ essences laying arround why the hell did the power had to go to these kids, Kitsigarba would at least reach 7 essences maybe close to 8 if he had gotten those resources, Meng Hao Grand Pa as well and all the Lord of the Mountain and Seas will be paragons now. But the best guns were given to 5 yo children whom couldn’t even pull the trigger.

That’s why I think the story might actually reach a point of no return and can’t be salvaged anymore.

    1. Wait…what? That note “we will be reaching the conclusion of the war soon”
…How? There’s been some strange things in this war so far that make it seem odd (Chosen Tai’s planet and Planet East Victory just blowing up like that despite the protections they have, Planet South Heaven blowing up despite the door being there and the two landmasses coming from above while the door supposedly leads to them, and a host of other things, Slaughter not making a move yet despite saying he would) so unless some plot amor like Slaughter single-handedly wiping out the Heavens and blocking the two forces temporarily happens, I feel like it’ll be like a guy a couple chapter ago said, this might be an illusory world of Meng Hao’s desolation. It might also be something that I can’t think of right now that’s happening.

  1. This is so much bullshit, he killed another 8-essence paragon faster than this, and he wasn’t even that strong..

The plot armor around that b*tch is getting too old..

Honestly i don’t enjoy stories that go full emotional like that.. what are supposed to feel.. when everyone dies

And the pathetic state the mountain-sea realm is at rn, where da hell did Slaughter go..

    1. No he didn’t? There were only 2 paratons at 8-essence.

This woman and the guy who is fighting the Paragon Puppet and Seadream.
The other paragons he fought until now were 7-essences.

On top of all that, he isn’t fighting just her, but also the big-headed dude who seems to be just as powerful as her.

      1. She’s currently only somewhere between Dao sovereign and imperial lord as we’ve been told.
I agree that she should have died many times over by now.

        1. Only when it comes to her cultivation base. Understanding of Dao, Magical Items and Dao Magic are all still at high level.

Cultivation base is secondary. Are you seriously forgetting that Meng Hao was killing Dao realm experts when he was still in the Ancient Realm…?

A lion with just three legs is still a lion. The only reason he can fight her to this point is because she is weakened, he doesn’t have the power of a 8-essence paragon. He suffered a lot just to beat that other guy by himself, who was a 7-essence paragon.

    2. He never killed an 8 essence. As for “plot armor,” she was a paragon at the 8-essence level. Are you honestly surprised she has many life saving skills?

  2. Er Gen put so many twists that the twists aren’t twists anymore, and that’s terrible for a story. I hope he meant it when he said the war will be over soon…it’s so illogical I can’t read it

  3. So dragging. So many chapters wasted on emphasizing how desperate the war was being faught.then later on a super power up would happen. A miracle. A petented story again just like any other novels.

  4. These last chapters are being full of forced drama BS, this must be the heart desolation, this paragon has already reached Long Juxue levels of BS plot armor, how could Righteous Haowie kill so easily seven essences paragons before while using the bow and arrow full power only once, but after 3 shots he couldn’t kill this bastard woman whose cultivation base right now is at most 6 essences????

    1. The only arrow that hit her was the last and weakest arrow… The other 2 hit the big headed dude.

Plus, they have said it already a long time ago that each level of essence is much stronger than the previous one, not just a little.

      1. That doesn’t really explain why the big headed dude, who is originally supposed to be an imperial lord, isn’t dead after more than 2 shots from the bow which was said to be able to slay imperial lords with one shot which it has already done more than once. I get this may be a lamp trial but if it is, i’m confused why Meng Hao hasn’t figured anything out yet.

        1. Stop being so obsessed with the cultivation level. The cultivation level is important, but it isn’t everything.

There are also the magic items, the spells and understanding of Daos.

I mean, Meng Hao was killing people in the Dao Realm when he was still in the immortal realm.

It is not like he is the only one allowed to skip levels. Not to mention, the dude is an outsider, so he probably has tricks and techniques that people from 33 heavens and the immortal realm don’t have.

  5. So Shui Dongliu is finally going to do something?
Or maybe the copper mirror which the two powerhouse seeks will reveal some interesting secret?
    Thanks for the chapter!!

    1. Because you, like many people, seem more interested in the jelly-bean sized fun of a chapter, instead of the feast that is the entire plot. You are a fast-food reader, someone who views wuxiaworld as 7-11, and the chapters as snacks. Er Gen is Gordon Ramsay, and you’re complaining because his beef wellington goes beyond your comprehension as a fan of snickers bars.

      1. Hey Bro stop it with the salt, this entire arc is the most boring of the story, the 2 powers were pretty far away, how the hell did they reduce a 200 years trip into less than 10 years and considering, it’s not just a group of people but entire worlds the size of the previous Immortal world. And Meng Hao with the same repeated moves again and again, and the drama, I skipped entire paragraph because of this (sorry DB). But man this arc wasn’t a good reading at all.

        1. Please go back and find the reference to “200 years trip” if you can. Except you can’t, because it never said that. The times involved were always vaguely guessed by Meng Hao, never revealed within the narrative itself.

“Repeated moves again and again.” Got it. You’re one of those guys who likes to have the MC get a new ability every other chapter, an ability that just so happens to let him beat the next enemy. Go read MGA or something.

You skipped entire paragraphs? You are exactly the kind of person who comes back ten chapters later with comments like “why didn’t XYZ” happen, and the reason was explained in one of those paragraphs you skipped.

      2. wow, so because i find meng hao screaming “NO!” and being blocked by 2 annoying flies for 3 or 4 chapters in a row, im a “fast food reader”? someones up on a high horse. im sorry i find it boring to read pretty much the same thing several times in a row. it just doesn’t satisfy me. im not someone that needs constant action in a story, but i don’t like chapters that go nowhere or repeat themselves either. also, if i was only interested in that, i wouldn’t read this or even be this far in. issth has long periods with no action (alchemy arc, ancient demon sect arc, fang clan arc), yet im still here. i can understand the story perfectly fine, so get off your high horse, because you’re not better than anybody here.

        1. You obviously missed the point of my comment. For example, I didn’t even mention the word “action.” Nor did I say that I was “better than anybody here.”

But… alright, whatever. So long story short, you think these chapters “go nowhere and repeat themselves.” I’d have to disagree. Every chapter something different happens, and the only repetition is that the good guys are getting their asses kicked for the first time in the novel. What do you want, a single chapter that says, “and with that, the entire Mountain and Sea Realm was destroyed. And then, Meng Hao got really mad and sad.”

          1. Sorry bro but in the war of Southern Domain and Nothern Reach, the good guys were caught by surprised and getting their ass quick but it was still enjoyable, Meng Hao was always comming up with something new and this are was gold, compared to this poorly written one, but since we are reaching the end, Er Gen probably ran out of fume.

      3. No, we are interested in a good story, something that Er Gen has been delivering perfectly for more than a thousand chapters and then suddenly it feels like everything was rushed without thought
Would not surprise me if this entire war has been his superiors going “you must write several chapters a day!”
Its not really well thought out like ISSTH usually is
They constantly throw out powerlevels that seem to be completely meaningless and going “Meng Hao could now beat level 10s” but whenever he faces anyone he can supposedly beat he fails and even when using supermegaultra bow that absorbs his life force and should be able to kill pretty much anyone he aims it at they just go “nuh uh, i hav lif sav that supposed weak me but dont kthxbai”
A lot of plotpoints no longer make any sense either, the formation on planet south heaven makes no sense since it was made to stop outsiders from invading through the backdoor of the MnS realm but it cant even affect people who are decently strong, thus its completely meaningless
In fact a lot of people who have no business fighting in this war still do, how the hell does Xu Qing slaughter her way through the outsider hordes when she is at most ancient realm (which in itself makes no freaking sense)
The only real way Er Gen can save this is by having it be a dream or the desolation of heart
You claim to care about the feast that is the entire plot but dont really seem to mind that right now the entire plot is taking it right up the ass
The beef wellington is getting covered in ketchup and ants

        1. Sigh. So many things you are saying are basically completely wrong. Let’s list some:

          1) it feels like everything was rushed without thought
Response: Read his note in this chapter. This whole thing was planned out.

          2) They constantly throw out powerlevels that seem to be completely meaningless and going
Response: Not really, the power levels are pretty simple to understand and his ability or inability to either fight or beat them is clearly explaind. The fights are consistent with that too.

          3) the formation on planet south heaven makes no sense since it was made to stop outsiders from invading through the backdoor of the MnS realm
Response: No, that was not it’s purpose. It’s purpose was to keep South Heaven clear of the Dao Realm. And we don’t know the purpose of the door either. Go read the chapters involved again.

          4) how the hell does Xu Qing slaughter her way through the outsider hordes
Response: Do you think the entire army of Outsiders is made of Paragons or something? The vast majority will be peons.

Sum-up: He’s hitting major plot points with these chapters, and leaving out irrelevant details, and most of your complaints reveal your lack of understanding of the story.

          1. 1) Just cause you have planned something it doesnt mean the end result wasnt rushed
If he put in more details and character more of this wouldve made sense
            2) The powerlevels are completely meaningless considering they go “Meng Hao could now fight paragons” yet when facing a Xuan Fang at less than half power he still couldnt beat him. They go “The 8 essence woman was now on the border of 5 essense level” yet she can pull thing after thing out of her ass and fight Meng Hao head on
            3) It was specifically mentioned that they made the formation to stop the outsiders from coming in through the door. Just cause you dont remember it that doesnt mean it didnt happen
            4) The lowest level to be flying through space like this is at least immortal level and ancient realms arent exactly all that rare for the outsiders considering how many dao realm people they have, and do you seriously think NONE of the outsiders went “hey that girl hangs out with Meng Hao, lets grab her” She would be screwed if she met someone in the higher levels of the ancient realm, and if she met someone in the dao realm they could kill her by breathing
Sum-up: Youre missing out and just defend the poor writing cause you cant understand the story, you call out others on their lack of understanding yet you cant even tell the writing quality has plain dropped several levels

          2. I don’t understand why this people can’t understand some of the plot… Must be because they skip chapters or whatever? Besides what’s wrong with this? Its war, its mostly chaotic and bloody, so much that you won’t understand shit if you’re just a spectator…

  6. Im going to make a bet on how things are going to play out…
The door in south heaven is a seal placed by outsiders that forbids retreat and it doesn’t actually leads to the other 2 great powers. The seal can only bee broken by outsiders but not by M&S cultivators. Once the seal is broken, the M&S realm will escape through there! It would also explain Er Gen suddenly saying that the war will end soon. There is absolutely no way for the M&S realm can survive if they keep fighting with the 33 heavens, much less the 2 other great powers, so escaping is the only choice!

Shui Dongliu must have lied to Meng Hao before! The reason why he placed his parents there must have been a plot from him in order to have Meng Hao slaughter outsiders in South Heaven and use their blood to break the seal, then escape!

Also Xu’er is supposed to have placed a portal for escape… maybe her portal be the one the last mountain escapes… or maybe she will create a portal for windswept to come to the last mountain to join the war??

    Slaughter, should appear soon…

    1. Bro, don’t try to make something out of an arc that the author himself admit to be total BS. BTW ending a story with a war is one big way to destroy it. I just want this arc to be a desolation and the entire thing just didn’t happen.

      1. Where did he admit it to be BS? Please point that out. The comment at the end of this chapter is basically being made to people like you. It’s saying “this was all planned out, stop whining.”

Go turn on the My Little Pony theme song and hope that everything “just didn’t happen.” Meng Hao and Xu Qing can fly away on a rainbow while Patriarch Reliance plants a vegetable garden in the Ninth Sea.

  7. Thank God this arc is ending, and I wasn’t the only who got bored of this silly war too. I mean if I want to see one-sided bullying I could just check the news channel, Er Gen you can do better than this. Lately I haven’t commented much coz I didn’t have anything positive to say.

Thanks Patriarch DeathBlade for the good translation and dedication, you are the best.

  8. Thanks for the chapter Deathblade, anonpuffs, Madam Deathblade, GNE, Tsukihime, JerryDaBaws, and Baby Deathblade! I mean, there won’t be a Mountain and Seas Realm left for the other two powers to war with so my guess is they just hover around looking for the Battle Weapon.

    1. Go back to the chapters where he 1st entered the 33 hells and fought against dao realm. I think he is from heaven god sect where meng hao used the sword to hide the demon lonely tomb.

  9. This reminds me of my battles in Mount and Blade: Warband, Prophesy of Pendor mod.
I always fight huge numbers of enemies numbering from 200 – 1000+ soldiers while I only have 250-350+ soldiers… It was bloody and chaotic and most of the time I get captured. 😀

  10. In the next chapter’s teaser, Shui Donglui says:

“Everything is for the Mountain and Sea Realm,” he murmured in a voice that only he could hear. He sighed inwardly. “The seal on Planet South Heaven cannot be unraveled by a Mountain and Sea cultivator, only the Outsiders. Plus, the right propelling souls are still required…. It’s almost time. Almost time….”

I am assuming, since beginning, Shui Donglui planned to sacrifice anything and everything for whatever might be his end game. Plus, this talk about seal on South Heaven. It might be so that he wants escape with the remnants of M&S’s but he himself can’t undo the seal which means this seal was placed by Outsiders (most likely the other two powers) to cage in M&S Realm. Now this talk about propelling souls, if the meaning here literal, then it is 99.9% certain the his plan all along has been to escape from this cage and the souls, it might that these are souls of some powerful experts from M&S which will propel Planet South Heaven out of this cage once the seal is broken. He says that the souls have not appeared yet, which means he is waiting for certain cultivators to die so he can capture their soul for his use.

Regarding the door in the Rebirth Cave on South Heaven, it might be like a glass window carved into the Outsiders’ seal through which you can gaze into the starry sky but can not pass through.

  11. I’m kind of glad that Er Gen acknowledged this war is getting a bit boring. I like ISSTH, but the last 30 or so chapters I’ve mostly been skimming. I never enjoy full scale wars in any books so it’s not surprising I’m finding it boring, but I really hope the series gets back to what it’s good at soon.

  12. the recent chapters prove that the story is never bad for fanboys. I mean, issth is one of my favorites, but let’s be honest, it’s been plainly boring for the past 10 chapters or so. even so, I see some people in the comments are devoted to deny how boring it is now and justify some inexcusable flaws (like the shining plot armor the female paragon got, the repetitiveness, etc). guys, we all like issth, but it is bad at the moment. just deal with it. stop screaming and arguing, trying to deny the obvious, geez
