Chapter 452: Hope

Migration.

Throughout the lands of the Western Desert, it took only a short period of time for a multitude of Tribes to all reach the same bitter decision!

To make such a decision was easier said than done. However, as far as the Crow Divinity Tribes were concerned, migrating… was the same as death!

Throughout the Western Desert, teleportation spells rapidly ceased to function. This was especially true of the low-lying Western Desert North, where vast amounts of violet rainwater was collecting. One could easily imagine how the rain which fell in the West, South and East would flow down and accumulate within the North.

The Western Desert North was definitely the first place that the sea would begin to rise!

Had the five Crow Divinity Tribes not experienced the war with the Five Poisons Tribe, then they would surely have been powerful enough to migrate. Unfortunately… even including all the young children and elderly Tribe members, their total population was now around two thousand.

Considering that they used to have more than ten thousand Tribe members, their overall power had been critically reduced. As of this moment, they only counted as a small Tribe when compared to the rest of the Western Desert.

Furthermore… because teleportation portals were no longer functional, and more than half of the Tribe members were ordinary people with no Cultivation bases, there was no way for the Tribe to fly. They would be forced to travel on foot.

The Greatfather stood next to Meng Hao, his hair gray and his expression one of exhaustion. He smiled bitterly and said, “We can’t travel on foot to the Black Lands…. We’re simply too far away. Even a Nascent Soul Cultivator who flew continuously without sleep or rest would need at least ten years to get there. If we went on foot… it would take more than a thousand. More than a thousand years to migrate. Would the Crow Divinity Tribes even still be around by that time?”

He looked even older than he had before. He turned his head back to look at the Tribe members behind him who were erecting wooden shelters, and continued, “The violet rain will continuously extinguish the spiritual energy. Eventually we would all become mortals. The will of extermination in the rain would corrode our bodies, weakening us to the point of death.

“That’s not even to mention what the rain would do to the children and the other ordinary Tribe members. They… would be the first to die. After that… the deaths would only continue to increase. The entire Tribe would eventually be wiped out during the course of the migration.

“In addition, virtually all of the other Tribes in the Western Desert will be migrating at the same time. Because of food, resources and other reasons, the road will be filled with chaotic battles! Tribes will be constantly contending with each other in order to ensure their own existence. Right now, the Crow Divinity Tribes… simply could not survive such an ordeal.

“Also, even if we managed to travel for more than a thousand years, even if by some fluke we weren’t swallowed up by some other Tribe, then… once we got to the Black Lands… what would qualify us to enter? There is limited space in there. How could we get in?

“How could we possibly distinguish ourselves… amongst so many great Tribes and mid-sized Tribes. With so many big shot Tribes controlling the Black Lands, how could we get them to accept us?”

Meng Hao stood there silently. He had already seen some of the children who were physically weak to begin with growing even weaker after being touched by the rainwater. This violet rain was going to exterminate everything.

“It is because of all of this, exalted Sacred Ancient, that I urge you… to leave!” The Greatfather’s voice was so decisive that it could sever nails and chop iron. “Leave this place and leave the Crow Divinity Tribes. Sacred Ancient, given your Cultivation base and your status as a Grand Dragoneer, any Tribe would be happy to accept you during this critical time and bring you with them to the Black Lands.

“Exalted Sacred Ancient, this is your only hope. As for us….” The Greatfather once again looked back at the Five Tribes members building huts to shelter themselves from the rainwater. Their eyes were filled with sorrow and grief.

“We will not leave our homeland. If we are doomed to be exterminated, then we will die together and be buried here with our forefathers and fellow Tribe members. At least this way, maybe some of those children will have a chance to grow up.” The Greatfather looked even older now, as if his life force were slowly flowing away.

Meng Hao continued to stand there quietly, unsure of what to say. He looked over his shoulder at the silent Five Tribes members. Wu Chen was there, as was Wu Ling. There were sleeping children, who occasionally called out for their mothers. Tears were being shed. There were elderly ones longing for loved ones. As Meng Hao looked at them all, he realized that there were many, many familiar faces.

Right now, he had only two choices. Go… or stay!

If he did leave, then he was essentially the most likely person to be able to survive within the violet rain, considering all of his special abilities.

But if he stayed….

Meng Hao let out a soft sigh. He said nothing, but rather, turned and walked over to where the Tribe members were gathered. As he neared, they all looked toward him, eyes hot with zeal. With a slight smile, Meng Hao continued around to the back of the mountain, and his courtyard.

Here, the rain was falling heavily. He sat down beneath the eaves, surrounded by his neo-demon horde. Big Hairy lay on the ground next to him, letting out light yips. He was wounded, but not fatally.

Meng Hao now had only six thousand neo-demons left in his horde. All were wounded, and were currently healing naturally.

Gu La braved the rainwater to bustle about, giving them food and treating some of their minor injuries. The sky above was dim, and the rain… only continued to fall harder and harder.

The vast sky and land gradually transformed into a depression that weighed down on the hearts of both Meng Hao and the Crow Divinity Tribe members.

“Perhaps I should wait for the parrot to return… and then leave. Leaving really is the best decision. However….” He lapsed into silence again. During his entire time in the Western Desert, he had lived amongst the five Crow Divinity Tribes. He had achieved his goals, and yet, the ones to pay the price had been them.

Objectively speaking, everything that was happening was not Meng Hao’s fault. However, when it came to his heart, Meng Hao found it hard shake off the deep emotions that he felt.

The Crow Soldier Greatfather’s words made sense. The five Crow Divinity Tribes had no ability to migrate, and even if they did… they would never be able to enter the Black Lands.

When he thought of the Black Lands, Meng Hao recalled the war he had seen there, and the Western Desert Cultivators who had fought in them.

“What an incredible plan,” Meng Hao thought, his eyes flashing. “Because of this Apocalypse, the eyes of the entire Western Desert will be focused on the Black Lands. It seems that the time will soon come for those great Tribes who control the Black Lands… to bare their fangs.”

Time passed by slowly. Two months were gone, and the violet rain never ceased to fall. It only grew harder. Meng Hao could no longer stay behind the mountain, because… it had already turned into a small stream as deep as one’s knees.

The five Crow Divinity Tribes had moved to the top of the mountain peak. There, they built huts to shelter themselves from the rain. More than two thousand people lived their lives silently inside these huts.

Already, there were Tribe members who were visibly weakening….

Meng Hao sat cross-legged on the mountain peak, looking at the mountains off in the distance. They had once been green and verdant, but now they were a deathly dark gray. All of the vegetation had withered up and died.

Every day, it was possible to see neo-demons running or flying away from within the deep mountains. It wasn’t just Cultivators who were migrating during this Apocalypse, but neo-demons as well.

The land in many areas around had already turned violet. Streams flowed together to form rivers. It was easy to imagine how, after some bit of time passed, the rivers would merge together to form lakes. Eventually, the lakes would turn into… a sea.

“If I can’t take you with me,” said Meng Hao, “then I will stay with you here. We will await death together. I will not allow the violet rain to bury you. The tombstone of the five Crow Divinity Tribes should have all of your names carved on its surface.” Meng Hao felt deeply melancholy, but he really could not think of any other options. The five Crow Divinity Tribes really had no hope to hold in front of them anymore.

The Black Lands might count as hope. However, it was an intangible hope, a stagnant hope. Besides, the path to the Black Lands would be rife with countless other Tribes all charging toward the same destination. The five Crow Divinity Tribes would have much difficulty fighting for a place amongst all those other Tribes.

“Maybe there is some other hope to be had!” murmured Meng Hao, lifting his head up to look at the violet rain.

More time passed. A month later, hope suddenly appeared one day…. It appeared, not just for Meng Hao, but for all the members of the five Crow Divinity Tribes.

That hope came in the form of a voice!

The voice echoed out throughout the entire Western Desert, from North to South, East to West. It was impossible to say if it was a magical technique or divine ability, nor was it possible to determine the profundity of the speaker’s Cultivation base. The voice was archaic and ancient as it echoed out.

“To all fellow countrymen in the Western Desert, greetings….

“We are the Heavenly Court Alliance of the Black Lands, formed by the great Heavenly Pursuit Tribe, great Wild Flame Tribe, and great Demon Butterfly Tribe. This is our first public announcement to all Cultivators in the Western Desert….”

Meng Hao looked up. The Crow Soldier Tribe Greatfather suddenly opened his eyes from meditation. All of the Tribe members gazed out at the sky.

At this moment, all Tribes in the Western Desert stopped what they were doing. Some were like the great Scorching Ice Tribe, currently on the road in the midst of migration. Others were camped out, resting. Others, like the five Crow Divinity Tribes, had decided to return to the dust in their homeland. All Cultivators in the Western Desert began to tremble as they looked up to the sky.

Everyone, even the Five Poisons Tribe. Everywhere, West, East, North and South. All members of all Tribes… looked up.

“The violet rain has come, and the Western Sea Apocalypse is here. This violet rain will exterminate all life, and extinguish all spiritual energy. At the moment, roughly ninety percent of teleportation portals in the great lands of the Western Desert are not functional.

“There is only one hope for life amidst this great Apocalypse, and that is the Black Lands. Thankfully, many years ago, the Heavenly Court Alliance enacted plans to carve out a suitable place for Western Desert Tribes to survive within the Black Lands!

“Naturally, the space is limited, and not all Tribes will be permitted to enter. Furthermore, we do not have the right to decide who is most qualified to do so. Therefore… we will give all of you a chance… to find a Demon Spirit!

“According to information gleaned from the augury of the Heavenly Court Alliance, as well as details recorded in countless ancient records, we know that whenever the Western Desert turns into a sea, Heaven and Earth experience changes. Demon Spirits emerge in the great lands of the Western Desert, no more than ten of them.

“Any Tribe who appears outside of the Black Lands with a Demon Spirit, will be qualified to enter the Black Lands. We will only accept… Demon Spirits!”

The voice stopped speaking, but the sound of it continued to echo out throughout the Western Desert. The countless people who heard the voice all began to breathe heavily, and their eyes instantly grew bloodshot.

Meng Hao’s eyes began to shine brightly.

          1. Then again she was a cultivator. Most of the others are weak mortals. I dont know if its possible.

          2. This is definitely a good point. He could put them all in there. And since he has his own city as Patriarch Golden Light he has the space for these people. Lol options that he forgot about haha.

          3. Bag of Cosmos is definitely capable of carry living things. He puts his neo-demons inside. Probably those who are not cultivators will need food and water, but its a much better choice than migrate in masse or wait to die. Plot hole indeed.

      1. I was thinking the exact same thing. Of course the mortals in the bag would need food and water, I was thinking they could feed off of some of the neo demons.

      2. nah. I’m pretty sure it was mentioned that they could only be temporarily stored inside… anyway, I think this whole plot is bullshit atm.

Require ten years? you sick dude? what the hell. it was clearly mentioned when meng hao and zhou dekun was teleporting and ambushed that the early stage core formation cultivator managed to chase after meng hao, who had a teleport medallion that teleported him like 40-50km away, in a matter of about a dozen breaths. 1 breath = 1 second, from what I remember. Seems the author changed some of his settings, which I find to be really horrible(well, that speed was too extreme in the first place). If this is the case, and we go by an entire stage of cultivation lower, a core formation cultivator would be able to move about 200km/minute and 12000km/h and 288000km/day, in other words 105120000km/year or 1051200000km/10 years… roughly 2628 times the circumference of earth… Even if that a slip up on the authors part and they can’t move that fast(yeah, it’s freaking unbelievable, I think the author was either on drugs when writing that particular story or just desperate since he had made the teleport range so long and meng hao has the good luck charm…), a nascent stage cultivator should at least be far, far faster than a speeding car(even in the qi condensation stage he seemed to be moving at around a cars normal speed of around 50-60km/h or something). You telling me it’d take 10 years of constant flight to reach the black lands? I mean, even if you “only” traveled at a speed of 100km/h(there is no doubt a high level cultivator like a nascent soul stage one should AT LEAST travel that fast, otherwise it’d be ridiculously slow), in ten years that would be 8760000km, you’re telling me the way to the black lands is roughly 219 times the length of the circumference of our planet earth? If just one small part of the world is that long… just how freaking big is that planet? I never got the view that it was that big before when he were rushing around the southern domain or black lands… Did this author do any research whatsoever or is he just spouting bullshit to make their reason for staying more believable? I already noticed that the author had a lot of plot holes when it comes to how fast cultivators can move, because for some reason they’ve slowed down really much recently, just look at the recent battle where a few hundred meters was treated like dozens of kilometers…

        1. If everyone traveled at a pace of 5km/h for a thousand years, 12 hours a day, that would be around 572.5 times the circumference of earth… This doesn’t even seem possible. Remember that meng hao wanted to travel to the great tang and be a scholar or whatever in the eastern lands, wouldn’t he have to spend several years at least to get there, no matter how he traveled? or is the western desert the only overly blown up piece of land, I had the idea that all the parts were roughly the same size…

        2. well this might wrong, but earlier he was in the black lands he had tribulation clouds spanning 3000km in all directions surrounding him. 3000km is a about the same distance between one side of the usa to the other from cali to Georgia. seeing how there was no big commotion about tribulation clouds appearing near or around pre peacock screwing city we can imagine that the distance between where meng got his core qi a the city is very far apart. now if we couple in the fact that it took him I think it was month to get from his to the snow city that just shows you how big black lands especially since it took at most a couple of days for him to get from hi cave to the city for the auction. Now the Black land are huge compared to our earth, but in South Heaven it’s the smallest out of all the areas other then maybe the state of Zhao. Now you add in the fact that Meng is located at the North end of the desert and the Black lands are located far south yea it might actually take that long after you factored in the rain’s power, other people, neo demons, food ect.

  1. “If I go… perhaps the parrot will return. Leaving really is the best decision. However….”

Where did the lord gone to? Honeymoon? What am i missing?

    1. There’re some possibilities: (1) the 3 went to play around in the region and haven’t come back (the beginning of the war, starting with Zhou Ye, to the end only lasted 7-8 days), (2) honeymoon for Lord Fifth and Lady Fifth, though not sure why MJ would have to tag along too, or (3) Lord Fifth is avoiding Meng Hao b/c it still thinks Meng Hao is trying to steal Lady Fifth.

      1. They attacked it after they discovered the death of their Crown Divinity, and Meng Hao played a role in this event. Moraly he can leave them, but this little role he had make him stay, so we can see he is someone good (because honestly, until now he was neutral at best).

        1. I wouldn’t call Meng Hao someone good. When he killed many people during the initial golden core tribulation he never had any regrets about it even though the whole thing was completely his fault. He conducted extremely painful experiments on cultivators that in two cases didn’t even do anything to him. He could have easily used some type of anesthetic, but he didn’t. Later he made an effort to kill every last one of the ‘enemy’s’ during the final golden core tribulation, even though they never did anything to him either. And quite often he kills people out of pure vengefulness, even against reason.
He would rather die than be forced to bow down to anyone, yet he is willing to do almost anything to survive which is rather contradictory.
You should also be aware that the most of the Crow Scout Tribe probably aren’t much better than the poison tribes or other desert tribes. Just remember the tribe-members he killed. Either everyone is evil, in which case Meng Hao isn’t THAT bad, or just most people are evil in which case Meng Hao most certainly not in the better part of the spectrum.

      2. Um… Well… The “Golden Crow” was at Spirit Severing stage (if I’m not mistaken).

        – The Golden Crow gives Meng Hao, about “half” of her powers…
        – The Golden Crow can’t defend the tree against the 4 Nascant Cultivators; which in return Meng Hao thinks in his heart “perhaps if the Golden Crow didn’t give me some of it’s powers, it can definitely fend off those 4 NS cultivators”.
        – Then the Golden Crow dies, leaving all her powers to Meng Hao, which later let Meng Hao become the “Sacred Ancient”. But because the Golden Crow died, The “grey World” gets destroyed, thus the Crow Divinity “Holly Land” gets destroyed.
        – Because of the destruction of the “Holly Land”, which was protecting the Crow Divinity; the 5 Poison tribes come for war…

So, yes it was because of Meng Hao. But all Meng Hao did was to have “pity” on the Golden Crow and the Great Tree. Meng Hao used his powers, to help them “unite” in spirits. The Tree was just “an empty shell” (the Tree was already dead, long gone). But by Meng Hao “Righteous Bestowal” (Demonizing), it was “spiritualized” (just like the Lake and the boat, the old man and the young girl; they were demonized spirits).

Thought we will never know if Yang Song and the other 3 had other means to “push” the Golden Crow to it’s destruction, even if Meng Hao hadn’t gotten half of it’s powers. And we “will never” know… We just know what “Meng Hao” felt. He felt “responsible” for the Golden Crow being pushed back by the 4 NS; which was why he came to “help”, even if the risk meant him dying. Usually Meng Hao is not such a “generous” person. He wouldn’t “give his life”, “only” trying to save someone else; even if someone “innocent” was about to die. That was that “innocent person”‘s problem, not Meng Hao’s… But this time he did.

(Well it’s just Meng Hao, who thinks he’s so cruel, and would never help someone without any benefits to himself… but everytime such things happened, Meng Hao helped the weak anyway… Even thought he made “excuses”, saying to himself, that by helping this person, will actually “benefit me” back also… And indeed, he has had great help from others, in return of helping them… Just like the Golden Crow…)

  2. Eh, didn’t he also have things to do? Pointlessly dying here really doesn’t fit his character. What about Xu Qing? What about his revenge against the Ji clan, his dreams of becoming an immortal. Finding his parents. Saving the animals in his demon horde that rely on him.

He did what he could for the tribe, but he as well as anyone knows how cruel life is. You can’t do anything to save them, which sucks. But Meng Hao is more pragmatic than this, it’s the reason he’s lived this long.

    1. No. Meng Hao isn’t saying he’ll die along with them, although “We will await death together” is kind of misleading without context. He’s saying that he’ll stay until the entire Crow Divinity Tribes perishes, and properly give all of them a tombstone.

Basically, the entire Five Tribes will perish before Meng Hao would b/c of the special abilities he has. Meng Hao plans to move on only after giving the Tribe proper burial.

        1. It’s only dangerous if you touch the rainwaters (as far as we know). They’re on mountain peaks and living under huts, so they’re avoiding the rainwaters for now.

However, the rainwaters also cut off spiritual energy of Heaven and Earth, and imperfect Cultivation bases leak spiritual energy. So over time, everyone beside Meng Hao will weaken and become mortal and die, while Meng Hao will still remain strong as long as he doesn’t use too much spiritual energy or run out of pills.

Also, it’ll probably take a decade or two for the waters to fill up to the mountain peaks. Before that happens, probably even Nascent Souls might’ve weakened and died already.

        2. The violet rain makes the Qi cultivation from Heaven and Earth leak but Meng Hao doesn’t rely on the QI of Heaven and Earth so he doesn’t really care about it.
Plus, he said in a previous chapter that if he stays, it will be benefic to him because he needs insights for his “water” attribute to become a Five Colored Nascent Soul.

    1. It’s probably not possible for mortals to stay in the bag for long, since they gotta eat and all. But it’s also probably not doable with just Meng Hao alone.

He likely doesn’t have enough pills to refill himself to fly a distance that would take a Nascent Soul to fly non-stop for more than 10 years to get to. Not to mention, he might encounter others who might try to harm him along the way, so he would have to expend more energy for those encounters. Also, he has no way to enter the Black Lands as its border is heavily guarded. Basically, it doesn’t sound feasible nor practical.

      1. They can do what they’ve always done, eat neo-demons. Its not an ideal diet, but as long as they had some preserved food (fruits/veggies/whatever they’re eating right now that they must have already had since the rain would have stopped them from growing anything) they’d be alright.

As for the spiritual energy, he could just use the Joss Flame. Its source would be in the bag and protected.

As for other tribes, he’s strong enough that they’d either leave him alone or try to recruit them, assuming he allowed them close enough to bother him. Not likely given his perceptive range with demonic qi.

Getting into the Black Lands likely wouldn’t be too hard either. He could just teleport once he got out of the rain. They aren’t really trying to stop individuals, especially not ones strong enough to give them trouble, they’re trying to stop whole tribes. Plus, he could just use his connection to the Church of Golden Light if he really wanted to. Though that would be riskier than just running the blockade.

        1. Oh yea, the battlefield is littered with tens of thousands of neo-demon corpses, so food (and water ?) like isn’t a problem if they travel. Although if they do run out of food… I think Meng Hao would have a hard time feeding them with his neo-demons (NOT the HAIRYS!!). So yea, I’ll agree that food might not be a problem if the travel time only last roughly 10 years. But there’s a problem to letting mortals out of the bag. The sea water is rising, and they can’t touch it. So Meng Hao can only stop at high places to let him out, and sooner or later has to spend energy to get them out of the rain temporarily in order for them to build huts. It’s possible there might not be many mountains along the way; it’s a desert after all.

As for Joss Flame, I don’t think we know exactly how it works yet. For example, would Meng Hao still get Joss Flame power if those with his totems don’t have a Cultivation base anymore? And would those who lost their Cultivation base also lose their tattoos? Along the journey, as the violet rain cuts off spiritual energy of Heaven and Earth, everyone beside Meng Hao would slowly lose their Cultivation base, as they’re imperfect and thus, leaks spiritual energy, and become mortal. Nascent Souls might last and retain their Cultivation bases a decade, but Core Formations and below probably become mortals long before. Anyway, too little info, but Joss Flame probably can’t entirely solve the spiritual energy deficit.

Well, I’ll say that desperations can make others do stupid things, like attacking Meng Hao, hoping for extra resources to increase their survival chances. Using spiritual sense with Demonic Qi drains energy, so using it frequently for ~10 years would deplete him even faster.

The barriers at the border of Black Lands likely also blocks teleportation. And no, I think the great Tribes would also block individuals. After all, there are likely many Rogue Cultivators, so they add up to quite a number. The Church of Golden Light likely don’t have enough power to help him, as the strongest of them are at Core Formation stage. Not to mention how he’ll contact them, as the barriers likely also block transmissions.

Even writing this is a little tedious. But basically, even if Meng Hao went all out and try to save the Tribe, he has very little chance to succeed. And I don’t think Meng Hao cares enough about the Tribe to go all, risking a lot to try to save them, even if the chance of succeeding is close to nil.

  3. Have faith in Deathblade, gain eternal translation. When Deathblade translates, who dares to read MTL!
Thanks for the chapter Deathblade, Madam Deathblade, anonpuffs, Lingson, Deathblade, joeljbright, and Er Gen!

  4. Currently very stressed for unknown reasons, most likely due to me failing at a project at school at something I really care for (THIS IS TERRIFYING IF YOU ARE An A+ STUDENT ALWAYS AND HAS NEVER FAILED BEFORE), but it is too much for that one thing. Anyhow, reading helps me calm down a lot, so thanks a lot of the chapters!!! (Don’t read COL though…)
    ?

  5. Lots of options here that aren’t really discussed or thought of in the story itself. I like the arguments I”m reading in the comments pertaining to ways to get out of the western desert with the entire clan in his cosmo bag. It makes sense. Though others have commented that it shouldn’t be possible. On the other hand it shouldn’t matter much at all since the bag of cosmo is supposed to have what is equivalent to an entire planet inside of it. In other words its stupid huge, and likely has mountains, forests, and other stuff, like food and whatever growing around in it. I mean really its a super massive bag that was made to contain huge amounts of monsters or at least was stated for that usage by Eccentric Song so there has to be food and land in there. Meaning that there should be no reason the tribe cannot reside in it while Meng Hao travels. As for the Joss flame it is based on faith not any kind of contribution and it also doesn’t affect his own energy reserves meaning he can use the seemingly unlimited Joss flame to perform actions that would normally leave him very drained or are plain not possible. Minor Teleportation that he used previously being one of them and his full Without a face incantation being another. Think about it. Another thing is that the connection to the sacred ancient, in this case Meng Hao, provides energy to the faithful meaning that the ones who are connected to him, those being the wood, metal, and fire groups would not lose their cultivation while in the cosmo bag and could cultivate based on the Joss Spiritual energy. Of course this all assumes Meng Hao even realizes that such a thing is possible. As of this moment he doesn’t so its not really something decideable.

    Thanks for the chapter.

    1. Meng Hao shoving all of them into his bag of the Cosmos reveals quite of a bit of his secrets that he isn’t willing to share, even with those close to him like Xu Qing and Fatty. Meng Hao certainly feels pity for the Tribe, but he isn’t so obligated to risk revealing so much and his life to try migrating with them, a plan that has close to 0 chance of succeeding.

But let’s suppose Meng Hao is altruistic, and was willing put his Five Colored Nascent Soul on hold (for some reason).

You’re assuming too much and/or misunderstood some things that were never stated.

First, the bag of the Cosmos doesn’t have “what is equivalent to an entire planet inside of it.” It doesn’t have mountains and rivers inside of it, unless Meng Hao actually put them in there. It was said that it can hold “hold mountains and rivers inside” (ch49) and that “it was capable of temporarily holding a living person inside” (ch135). But, it was never said that life put in there would actually grow, and since it said the bag can “temporarily” hold life, I highly doubt life can grow in it. Furthermore, we don’t know if the bag of the Cosmos can actually hold mortals, as those who had been inside the bag were Cultivators and neo-demons, who have Cultivation bases.

“I mean really its a super massive bag that was made to contain huge amounts of monsters or at least was stated for that usage by Eccentric Song so there has to be food and land in there.”

please reference the chapter that said this, b/c I’m certain this was never stated. Eccentric Song might’ve used the bag to transport his demons onto his treasure mountain, but I don’t ever remember saying he made his bag of the Cosmos into a life-supporting ecosystem, or if that was even possible.

Second, the Joss Flame power likely isn’t as unlimited as you suggested. In fact, I highly doubt that it is. It depends on the amount of people who has Meng Hao’s totem tattoos. But overtime, the number of Cultivators will diminish as the they can’t replenish their spiritual energy since (1) the violet rain obstructed spiritual energy of Heaven and Earth and sap their life force and maybe even spiritual energy, and (2) their (imperfect) Cultivation bases leak spiritual energy. So, would the Joss Flame still work after those with his totem tattoos become mortals? Or would the totem tattoos even disappear once they lost their Cultivation base? Basically, we don’t know too much about it to discuss whether it can make up for the spiritual energy deficit needed to make a ~10 years or more journey. IMO, I highly doubt Joss Flame power can make it for the journey.

      Third,
“Another thing is that the connection to the sacred ancient, in this case Meng Hao, provides energy to the faithful meaning that the ones who are connected to him, those being the wood, metal, and fire groups would not lose their cultivation while in the cosmo bag and could cultivate based on the Joss Spiritual energy.”

It was never stated that Meng Hao provide them energy being their Sacred Ancients. I’m not sure where you get this idea. So no, they will lose their Cultivation base over time unless they have a bunch of pills and Spirit Stones that could last them the entire journey of at least 10 years.

Lastly, I want to add (1) what about the struggles Meng Hao will meet with other Tribes? As he gets closer to the Black Lands, the more frequent other Tribes might attack him (desperation for resources or whatever). (2) Assuming mortals can’t stay in the bag of the Cosmos for long, Meng Hao needs to find high ground without violet water to let them out for some time. What if there isn’t any? (3) Once he gets to the Black Lands, how can he go past the border that would likely have been set up by the 3 great Tribes??

Anyway, not putting the Tribe into the bag of the Cosmos is not a plot hole, even if it is possible not to mention out of Meng Hao’s character to strive so hard for a Tribe he isn’t too close with (he’d only stayed with them for ~1 year). There are too many what ifs, and if you consider more about this plan, it seems less and less feasible to the point that it feels stupid to think about it.

  6. Im confused if there is only 2 thousand folks and around 7 thousand neo-demons why not have the regular people ride them and they go to his city ? they could make harnesses and equipment from what they have then immediately leave.. btw i think the streamer thing that he used to fight the Nascent cultivators has something to do with the violet rain.
