ISSTH Chapter 279-280 + The Chronicles of Baby Deathblade

I have received enlightenment of Karma, thanks to Baby Deathblade. When you think about it, Karma is basically the law of cause and effect. Cause: Baby Deathblade sleeps for five hours starting at 8:00 p.m. Effect: I get to stay up playing with him from about 3:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. P.S. Special meme in the sneak peek chapter heh heh heh!

Chapter 279: Opening the Pill Furnace
Chapter 280: Life Furnace?
Translator: Deathblade
Contributing Editors: Madam Deathblade, John Rogers – Proofreaders: Lingson, MeeBoo and Yascob – Memes: MemeBoo – Meme Archives: joeljbright
Chapter 280 Sponsor: Robert Kunzi

While I personally think that plot, character development, backstory are just as important as action, I know that not a lot “happened” in the last few chapters. Therefore, I decided to do this special two chapter release so that we could get into the meat of the trial by fire. By the way, I was able to translate an extra chapter yesterday, so if all goes well, maybe we can have 15 chapters this week instead of 14!

  1. Finally, everyone had gone to sleep. Or so was thought. Just as the darkness fell, its eyes shot open.
A cute yet devious grin appeared on its face. It couldn’t expose its hand just yet, those were its greatest trump cards.
But it would certainly not sit idly and miss this opportunity. It waited for about one hour before executing its plan.
By now, it was sure its parents were already sleeping. It gathered strenght and focused all its qi on its lungs, inhaling deeply.
Shortly after, a loud, but brief, cry reverberated throughout the whole building. A couple of seconds later, a young man appeared in the room, furrowing his brows.
The man glanced around and, noticing nothing, turned back and left muttering a couple of words.
After about the times it takes for half an incense stick to burn, the creature in the middle of the room opened its eyes again, seemingly in deep thought.
It didn’t want the young man to discover its intelligence, nor did it want to keep wasting his strenght yelling, but it couldn’t stop at this point. It had to go on.
Again gathering air, another sharp cry was heard. Not long after, the same young man opened the door, but now he had an ashen face. He glanced around and stared deeply at the now seemingly sleeping creature.
A cold light emanated from his eyes. Calming down, he begun to think about what the creature was trying to do. He moved a bit, and start getting closer to the center of the room.
At this point, the creature could barely hold in its excitement. He felt the young man touching its head, feeling its temperature. ‘It was now or never’, it thought.
His eyes shot open and his hands disappeared. Suddenly, he grabbed the young man’s hand and start to lightly bite his fingers.
A flash of realization appeared on the young man’s face. His mouth curled upwards, into a grin very similar to the creature’s, as he muttered: ‘I guess I’ll have to wake up Madam Deathblade now’.

  2. Oh yeeeesss, double release! 😀
Thank you, Lord Deathblade, for your extreme kindness to us readers.

P.S.: I do like those “boring” chapters though, but i’m probably one of the few who do. It’s very good that ISSTH is not always on battles and constant life-threatening situation, like many other novels who look like they are on an eternal adrenaline rush.

    1. Heh? I don’t find any of these chapter boring at all , maybe it is because how the story goes or maybe it is because how it is written or maybe it is because how it is translated but somehow i don’t find anyone of these chapter boring BUT only a really small bit long winded in only ONE of the previous chapter.

  3. Was the night before Chapter and all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse
The typing was done by the Deathblade sect with care
In the hopes that rest would soon be there.

The young master was nestled all snug in his bed.
While visions of wooden swords danced in his head.
Mom in her kerchief and I in my cap
Had just settled down for a long winter’s nap.

When out of Dawn there arose such a clatter
I sprang from my bed to see what was the matter
Away to the cradle, I flew with a flash
Brewing at boo, I ask what do.

The moon on the breast of the new fallen snow
Gave a luster of mid-day to objects below.
When what to my wondering eyes should appear
But a miniature sleigh and eight tiny reindeer with two chapters in their sted.
