ISSTH Chapter 257 + The Chronicles of Baby Deathblade

I saw a lot of comments regarding strapping BD to my chest. I also thought of that, and probably will do it eventually. In the meantime, however, I’vee come up with a new solution. I found that he can sleep happily in my lap while I translate! I imagine this won’t last long, but while he’s tiny, it seems to work fine. Also, someone mentioned voice-recognition software. Many of you probably aren’t aware of this, but in the middle of translating Kung Fu by Giddens Ko, I severed some tendons in my right arm. During that time, I actually tried voice-recognition software, but it didn’t work very well, and the translation had to be put on hold for about 4 months or so.

Chapter 257: Soul Refining
Translator: Deathblade – Contributing Editors: Madam Deathblade, John Rogers – Proofreaders: Lingson, MeeBoo and Yascob
Sponsors: Nadav Ben Yehuda, Christopher Choi, Jiashen Chen, Rudolph Arreola, and Sunny Goela

Many thanks to all the Fellow Daoists for bringing the first sponsored chapter of the week! About the translation schedule…..

Unfortunately I have to work again today and tomorrow. After that, I’m taking a good chunk of time off to focus on Madam Deathblade and Baby Deathblade (and translating). Because of having to work these couple days, there might be a day or two with only one chapter. Stay tuned….

  1. Deathblade, I hope you are reading this.

For goodness sake, never put your kid on your lap and hope for the best while you are translating. Especially < 6 months . your kid will never survive the fall if they manage to wiggle out of your lap.

Use a crib or stroller if you must.

  2. Dude, don’t just leave him lying on your lap (course, maybe it is safer than it sounds… but it sounds dangerous… get a little cot or something for him that you could put next to where ever you type… or even take a break if you need to… or let him nap on a bed….

I mean, we need ISSTH, but the heir to the sect should be the 1st priority…

But glad that he is doing well XD

  3. Thanks Deathblade, you sure are hardworking 😀
Should you still need a godfather (if you Deathblades are catholic or evangelic :P) you can have one from germany 😛
Btw, in the beginning you should concentrate a lot on your wife and how her state of mind is ^^

  4. Strapping him to your chest is not a viable option, at least wait until he’s 7-8 months old. Instead, try a portable cradle. You can keep him close to you.

  5. are you crazy? what if the baby distracts you while you translate? if you are distracted an accident could happen and you could write something wrong.

  6. Don’t be afraid to take time off from translating if you feel you need a break either Grandmaster Deathblade! You more than deserve plenty of rest, and peace of mind.

  7. You need to be overly overprotective of the kid else you’ll feel depressed.
Also, never and i do mean never, get used to the kid being well behaved. The moment you relax your guard will be the moment the world comes crashing down.

You have no idea how many people forget about their own children because they’re so well behaved.
I too was well behaved until i almost drank a cup of sodium hydroxide…

  8. Kung Fu by Giddens Ko severed my mind after reading it.
Anyways, don’t make him sleep in your lap for now, swaddle and put him in a rocker or small cot.
He will sleep a lot during first month, but might end up having sleepless nights too.
Babies are greatest source of joy. So enjoy the love and affection.
    Best wishes.

  9. Can i suggest instead of voice recognition, if it comes to that again and you have an injury why not record it and have one of us type it up for you?
    Also forgot to say grats
