HJC – New Synopsis

Apologies for another non-release post, but I felt this was rather important!

Been wanting to get a new synopsis for quite a while, but only managed to actually get down to doing it just now. (like the glossary heh)

Thanks to the readers from Chapter 19, and a few other friends, I’ve come up with the following new synopsis. Do let me know if I can improve it in any way. Have updated the main page as well.

Zen’s Synopsis

In a world where power means everything, and the strong trample the weak; there was a boy born from a Heavenly Jewel Master. Born in a small country which had to struggle to survive, the boy was expected to do great things. Alas he turned out to have blocked meridians and was unable to cultivate, ending up the trash of society. His father’s tarnished pride… his fianceé’s ultimate dishonour…

Being almost accidentally killed and left for the dead, heaven finally smiles upon him as a miracle descends, awakening his potential as a Heavenly Jewel Master. Or… is it truly a gift?

Join our dear rascally and shameless MC Zhou Weiqing in his exploits to reach the peak of the cultivation world, form an army, protect those he loves, and improve his country!

An all new world, an all new power system, unique weaponry & MC! Come join me in laughing and crying together with this new masterpiece from Tang Jia San Shao!

  1. eh… i shouldve read the first synopsis so i couldve compared it with this, dam lol.
    well it looks good 😛
but i think the (Edited Out) part is not needed because its kind of a spoiler, maybe something like on the verge of death …. then the 2nd half of that sentence

      1. just checked the main page is the same as this, well it doesnt matter.
        for the synopsis,
i think you should remove the (Edited Out) part though and replace it with something on the lines of him dying and a miracle happens because this is a scenario often used so it isnt really a spoiler but the (Edited Out) part is kind of a spoiler

        1. Thanks, will see how I can rewrite it in a less spoiler-y fashion (though I thought it wasn’t important enough to care about being spoiled =p)

I’ve done that, I think, and also edited your comments to remove the spoiler-y part 😉 heh

          1. well i am not an expert on synopsis but i think it looks good now lol.
oh and if he forms a harem later i think you should put that in the synopsis because its one of the things i look for in a story and it would definitely catch my attention if it was there

          2. Nope. A harem is more of a genre than a spoiler because there are plenty of mangas that use harem as a genre tag. Well, at the very least I have always thought it was a genre and not a spoiler.
Well I guess it is up to you and if you do decide to put it there then if you hear people complain about it being a spoiler then you can remove it.

  2. Nice synopsis!
    Just some remarks:
    -accidently->accidentally
-the boy was expected to do great things, alas he turned out to have blocked meridians and was unable to cultivate, ending up the trash of society -> comma between alas and he, full stop after things instead of comma (not absolutely required) & ‘as’ between ‘up’ and ‘the trash’

  3. Hi Zen,

    can you consider this ?

A unique MC who was born of a silver spoon. Viscount at birth and born to the hero of the empire; The king, his godfather and the princess, his promised. In a world where, the unique weaponry of Heavenly Jewels could be a blood inheritance (thanks to his father’s bloodline), he is failed by heavens with blocked meridians. He is “accidentally” almost killed and forced to run away from home.

Where heavens fail, can hell repay ? Can “evil” still be a blessing ? Can the empire glow in the dim silvery shade of the MC and survive the onslaught of invasions ?

Join us in a fantasy that provides a political, tactical and true xianxia experience. Our dear rascally and shameless MC Zhou Weiqing in his exploits to reach the peak of the cultivation world, form an army, protect those he loves, and improve his country!

  4. Different readers react differently to mentions of how a fiancee almost kills the MC and the MC then ends up trying to get stronger. This series doesn’t really dwell on his fiancee that much (so far) except in terms of an impetus for his to get stronger. For that reason, I don’t think it’s necessary. Maybe you should put it in if you think that this will draw more readers or fans, but from my perspective this has already happened in BTTH (sort of), ATG (sort of), and many other series. But this series handles it better because of the one major difference in this series compared to the others that start with this plot point… this is why I’m not sure it should be mentioned. But of course, that depends on your taste and judgment. :p

  5. Instead of ‘Being almost accidentally killed’, which sounds abit awkward and is slightly spoilery of what happens you could maybe use ‘Being fatally wounded and left for dead’ or something along those lines.

  6. I haven’t read HJC so i cant comment on the accuracy but i did change the wording of your synopsis a bit.To make it sound a bit smoother (in my opinion).

In a world where power means everything. The strong trample the weak. A child(boy) was born to a Heavenly Jewel Master,(;) in a small country that struggled to survive. The boy (he)was expected to do great things. Alas he was unable to cultivate his meridians were blocked, ending up as the trash of society. His father’s tarnished pride… his fianceé’s ultimate dishonor…

Left for dead(left to die) after an accident, heaven finally smiles upon him; a miracle descends. Awakening his potential as a Heavenly Jewel Master. Or… is it truly a gift?

in the parenthesis are other options, i didn’t really want to touch anything else because i wasn’t sure of the story.

  7. I don’t have much to say but the synopsis makes me feel like I’m being introduce to an anime on the WB…those times when card captor Sakura was aired lol. Era late 90s~00s.

As I have yet to start reading HJC, I do agree with others that it’s a spoiler. I immediately thought, “oh so he’s like Yun Che. ヽ( ´¬`)ノ whatever.”

It didn’t make me want to read HJC more than the author’s synopsis did, however when read in conjunction with yours, it gave a fuller understanding of what I would have gotten into. Thank you for that!
