This is one of my new favorite snacks, numbingly spicy peanuts which are named… Huang Feihong! The name is written in pinyin as you can see. In this case, the last character has been changed from 鸿 to 红, which is the character for “red.” So, Wong Fei-hung’s name in Chinese is 黄飞鸿, and this snack is named 黄飞红 (same pronunciation). I’m very proud that one of my favorite snacks is named after a legendary martial arts master! Woohoo!
