Please join me in clasping hands in a respectful bow to Fellow Daoist Krystle Rivas whose generous donation of Spirit Stones made possible the 4th sponsored chapter of the week! Guess what?! Thanks to so many generous donations, I felt I needed to put in some extra work. After popping a few Concentration Pills, I was able to churn out an extra chapter! Therefore, this week will have an additional sponsored chapter tomorrow! Stay tuned for that!

A brief note about some content in this release. No spoilers, but it does relate to these chapters, so if you choose, hit the jump after you read the chapters (or before… up to you!)

Some of the things in this release relate to the prices of various items, as well as buying, selling and duplicating things. Unfortunately, Er Gen doesn’t clearly state what Meng Hao’s thinking process is, nor the specific details of various original prices and duplication prices. I read these parts several times in Chinese, and also had Madam Deathblade read the whole chapter in Chinese. Afterwards, we discussed it and came to our own conclusions about what was going on. However, the author doesn’t clearly explain it. As such, please feel free to come to your own conclusions about what exactly is going on.

  1. Thanks, been itching to read ISSH, but i want to ask
    How many words each chapter?
Is it the same as Xian Ni?
If it so the i’ll wait until Book 1 Completed before reading 🙂

    1. For Chinese characters there’s roughly 3,000 or so per chapter, which ends up being about 2,000+ English words. It’s pretty close to CD. I’m not sure about Xian Ni, but it’s probably similar. Book 1 should be done in a couple weeks. Looking forward to your readership!

  2. He’s talking about arbitraging various items to gain spirit stones. In this case the margin was 240k spirit stones since he put in 10k stones into the mirror and got back 250k stones on the market.

  3. As for the duplication prices.. I feel like they shouldn’t at all reflect store-prices. After all, the price you pay at a store is determined by what the most whatever company think you will pay for it. Those prices don’t at all represent supply/demand or even operation costs.

I read not to long ago, that the average hardback book costs like 2 dollars to make, that includes shipping/paper/etc – why do they sell for $20 or more? Cause the publishing companies know we’ll buy them!

So I think the duplication process the mirror does is more about the needed amount of spirit energy to ‘activate’ the mirrors duplication process. The stronger the item, the more spirit energy is needed. The wooden sword took 2,000 of those large spirit stones to duplicate, while the foundation pill took 10,000 regular spirit stones. The reason is because the power of the sword is so much greater than the pill, the mirror needed more spirit power to duplicate it.

  4. I don’t think there is anything particularly confusing about that. Take Earthly Spirit Pill for example, the energy contained in it is probably equal to 200 spirit stones, so that is the amount needed for the mirror to replicate it. But the store has other costs and needs to make a profit as well, so the price the pill is sold at the store rises to 300 spirit stones. Meng Hao would need to sell lower than that to the store, so he judged that it wasn’t worth the trouble to copy and sell that type of pill.

For the Foundation Establishment Pill, although it had the power of about 10.000 spirit stones, thanks to abnormal demand and limited supply, the price at the store is 250.000 that. So as I see it the spirit stones the mirror needs is the true price of the item (at least in spirit terms, the jade slips probably cost the same no matter how valuable the information within), while other prices mentioned is what it costs at the region, which is influenced by demand, availability, etc.
