Book 14, Fiend – Chapter 3, Black Dragon Tribe

“Can, can you speak a bit more clearly?” Linley was utterly confused.

As soon as he had come out of the metallic creature, he had run into this silver haired old man, who immediately asked him for his inkstone. Although he didn’t yet have an idea as to what an inkstone was, he could sense the peculiar aura within it.

It definitely wasn’t an ordinary item. How could he so casually give it to others?

“Haha…” The silver-haired old man’s face was all smiles. “The three of you just arrived, so I’m afraid there are quite a few things you don’t know yet. Fine, then. I’ll speak a bit more clearly!”

The silver haired old man glanced around, then said, “This Infernal Realm is one of the Four Higher Planes. As the plane created by the ‘Overgod of Destruction’, the Infernal Realm is filled with boundless cruelty and savagery. Massacres are commonly seen in the Infernal Realm!” As he spoke, the old man’s eyes dimly glowed red.

Linley and the others were secretly startled.

The silver-haired old man swept Linley’s group with his gaze, then said with absolute certainty, “Although the three of you are Deities, in the Infernal Realm, you are in unfamiliar territory. I dare say that if you rashly wander about the Infernal Realm, you definitely won’t live for more than three days!”

Linley, Delia, and Bebe all were slightly shocked.

“Old man, are you trying to trick us?” Bebe stared.

Although Bebe stared at him, he did so in a very adorable way. The silver-haired old man didn’t grow angry either. He said, “Although you have just recently arrived in the Infernal Realm, on that metallic airship of the Redbud Army, the various lords of the Redbud Army should have told you a few things. Fortunately, you are at the Deity level. If you were Saints, even if you had inkstones, I couldn’t care less about taking you in.

Within Linley’s mind, a scene suddenly appeared.

When they were in that metallic creature, that skinny violet-robed youngster had said, “The Infernal Realm, as one of the Four Higher Planes, naturally has experts as common as the clouds. Since you are in the Infernal Realm, you had best find a tribe or a clan to join!” At that time, Linley hadn’t paid too much attention to these words.

But now, he somewhat understood.

Joining a tribe or a clan!

“Linley, the Infernal Realm is actually this dangerous?” Delia looked towards Linley, who immediately sent back a consoling message via divine sense, “No matter what, we are already here in the Infernal Realm. It’s best to be cautious. Let me ask him about a few things first.”

Linley looked towards that silver-haired elder and laughed. “My name is Linley. Might I ask who you are?”

“Buffett [Bo’fei’te]!” The silver-haired old man smiled.

Linley nodded and laughed. “Mr. Buffett, I would like to ask, what is this inkstone? We just arrived in the Infernal Realm, so we don’t know anything at all about these things.”

“Haha…” The silver-haired elder laughed. “That’s understandable. This inkstone, to be precise, is the currency for the Infernal Realm!”

“Currency?” Linley, Bebe, and Delia were all surprised.

Having lived in the Yulan continent, Linley and the other two understand what a currency meant. The ‘currency’ of the Infernal Realm was actually this unusual inkstone.

“On what basis is this thing considered currency?” Linley asked, not understanding.

Something that could be used as currency should at least have a certain innate value.

Buffett shook his head. “I’m not too sure either as to what exactly is so special about the inkstones themselves. But I do know one thing. There is no place in the Infernal Realm where inkstones can be mined. Only the Seven Rulers of Hell are able to create them. Based on this alone, inkstones are qualified to be used as currency.”

Linley nodded slightly.

So inkstones were actually created by the Seven Rulers. Only, what special uses did inkstones have? Could it be that they were just made for people to look at? Linley still felt that inkstones had some sort of innate, unique value.

“What can this currency purchase?” Linley asked.

Buffett chuckled, “This currency can buy quite a few things. For example, divine artifacts. Divine sparks. Divine gemstones. Many more things. Also, some unique items such as amethysts, large golems, and more. But of course, there are some even more miraculous things…in short, this currency is good for many things. Even legendary Sovereign artifacts can be purchased using them. Only, the sum required is simply astronomical.

Linley began to understand the value of these inkstones.

“Can you tell me what the price of a Demigod spark is?” Linley asked.

“A Demigod spark is around a hundred inkstones. A Demigod artifact is generally only worth around ten inkstones.” Buffett said in a very experienced manner. “In the Infernal Realm, there are Deities everywhere, so a Demigod spark isn’t that valuable.”

“However, God sparks are worth ten thousand inkstones, while Highgod sparks are worth ten million inkstones!” Buffett sighed. “Ten million inkstones. If I had a Highgod spark, I would become an upper-class figure in the Infernal Realm.”

Linley, Bebe, and Delia glanced at each other. They all laughed.

“Boss, you actually thought that this inkstone was some sort of treasure.” Bebe messaged him through divine sense.

“I just had the feeling that the inkstone itself seemed very unusual. I didn’t expect that this inkstone actually isn’t worth much at all.” Linley’s group naturally wouldn’t care too much about this inkstone any longer. After all, Linley was carrying Demigod artifacts, and even quite a few God artifacts. He even had those two Highgod artifacts which he hadn’t used yet.

He had a single Highgod spark as well.

By now, Linley, Delia, and Bebe didn’t have any further objections to joining the Black Dragon Tribe. It was just a single inkstone each, right?

“If we join your tribe, what if we want to leave in the future?” Linley asked.

“Leave? You can leave whenever you want, of course.” Buffett laughed. “However, only idiots would leave by themselves. Without the ability to protect yourself, roaming these lands, where danger is omnipresent, is as good as throwing one’s life away. In the Infernal Realm, killing people to steal their valuables is extremely common. Even most Gods don’t dare to run about wildly.”

Linley’s group glanced at each other.

“Fine. We accept.” With a flip of his hand, Linley brought out his inkstone, while Bebe and Delia brought out theirs as well. Buffett reached out with his hand, but Linley suddenly pulled his arm back. “No rush. I’ll give it to you after we enter your Black Dragon Tribe.”

Buffett was startled, and then he began to laugh loudly. “You are afraid that I’m trying to cheat you?”

“Fine, come with me then.” Buffett immediately flew downwards, while Linley, Delia, and Bebe all followed him down.

The Infernal Realm’s gravity was nearly a hundred times that of the Yulan continent’s. Linley could clearly sense that his flying speed was quite a bit lower than in the material plane as well. While flying downwards, Bebe asked curiously, “Hey, old guy, just now you were talking about the Redbud Army. Those Redbud soldiers who escorted us here, who are they? Why is it that on our way over, we encountered many experts battling each other, but as soon as they saw the Redbud soldiers, they immediately were terrified and fled.”

“Oh, I almost forgot to tell you about this.”

Buffett sighed. “The Infernal Realm has five great continents. The lord of our Redbud Continent is a mighty Sovereign of Destruction, one of the Seven Rulers of Hell, whom we refer to as the ‘Redbud Ruler’.”

Linley and the others knew this.

The Infernal Realm had five great continents and two oceans, which were controlled by the seven Rulers. The Seven Rulers were Sovereigns who trained in the Edicts of Destruction!

“And this Redbud Army is the army under the control of this mighty Sovereign of Destruction! This is the most powerful army in the entire Redbud Continent, and they are completely devoted to the commands of the Sovereign, ‘Redbud Ruler’! The Redbud Continent has no one who dares offend the Redbud Army!” Buffett’s eyes were filled with eagerness.

Linley and the others were shocked.

So it was an army under the authority of a Sovereign! No wonder none of the experts they encountered on the way over dared to antagonize the Redbud Army.

“Perhaps a single small unit of the Redbud Army isn’t that frightening. But if you dare offend a single unit of the Redbud Army, then most likely an entire regiment of the Redbud Army will come for revenge! Even someone as powerful as our Lord Prefect of the Nightblaze Prefecture, who might be able to deal with a regiment, would most likely then face the entire Redbud Army which would come for revenge. In the entire Redbud Continent, there is virtually no one who dares offend the Redbud Army!”

Buffett looked at Linley and the others. “You have to remember this. In the Redbud Continent of the Infernal Realm, no matter what, do not offend this Redbud Army. Offending them is disastrous!”

“They are so powerful, and no one dares offend them. Then why haven’t you joined the Redbud Army, Mr. Buffett? I saw that many members of the Redbud Army were Gods. Aren’t you a God as well?” Linley joked.

“Don’t you think I want to?”

Buffett shook his head and sighed. “The requirements for joining the Redbud Army are very strict. First of all, you had to have become a Deity on your own! Anyone who became a Deity through fusing with a divine spark is immediately eliminated from consideration. This has caused more than 90% of the people in the Infernal Realm to have no hope of joining. And the second requirement is…you have to at least be a God, and have to go through a competition. Each time, they only recruit a very low number of people. Those capable of obtaining victory in the competition all have at least some sort of unique ability.”

Linley couldn’t help but sigh in astonishment at the quality of this Redbud Army.

The weakest of them were Gods, and Gods who had become Deities through their own power. In addition, they then were selected through a tournament…over the countless years, the number of truly powerful experts who had been recruited into the Redbud Army was unimaginably high. No wonder nobody in the Redbud Continent dared to offend the Redbud Army.

Linley and the others landed on the ground.

“Roaaaar.” “Roaaaaar.” A series of roars rang out from the massive mountains in front of them.

Countless enormous black dragons that were over a hundred meters long lay coiled throughout the mountain ranges. If one took a careful look, one would discover that every single enormous black dragon had a human standing or sitting atop of them.

“This is our Black Dragon Tribe!” Buffett clearly was very proud. “Come, follow me inside.” As he spoke, Buffett strode forward. The mountain paths were winding, but Linley and the others were able to move forward easily.

“Hey?” Bebe suddenly exclaimed in surprise, “Boss, that seems to be adamantite!”

Linley turned. From not too far away, he did indeed see a small hill formed from adamantite. Such an enormous amount of adamantite caused Linley to feel astonished as well.

Seeing Linley stare in astonishment at the distant adamantite, Buffett couldn’t help but laugh. “That is adamantite. This is a very common type of ore in the Infernal Realm. You’ll see it everywhere. Look, over there, that blue ore? That’s blue nightmare ore. In terms of toughness, it is comparable to adamantite, but in terms of elasticity, it is actually even a level superior. However…these things can be seen everywhere. In the Infernal Realm, divine artifacts are quite worthless. If you want a divine artifact, you can just have a Demigod spend ten thousand years cultivating it, and then you’ll have a Demigod artifact. But this will only be worth ten or so inkstones.”

Linley, Delia, and Bebe maintained their silence.

Indeed…

Only after cultivation and nourishing would a divine artifact’s power increase. A newly forged divine artifact couldn’t even be considered a Demigod artifact, just an un-graded weapon.

“Buffett, you brought three more people. Haha, our tribe’s population has increased yet again!” From afar, a voice rang out. An enormous black dragon flew over, and someone flew down from the black dragon’s back. He wore a blue turban atop his head, and he appeared quite robust.

Buffett laughed, “They just arrived in the Infernal Realm.”

“Hey.” Bebe blinked his eyes. “It looks like everyone here is a Deity. Why do you raise these black dragons? These are all just Saints.”

The robust man who had flown down laughed, “Don’t underestimate them. This type of black dragon is a very unique race of black dragons. It is known as the ‘Gerrard [Jia’le’de] Black Dragon’ race. The saliva of Gerrard Black Dragons is quite valuable. If you raise a Gerrard Black Dragon, after ten thousand years, you’ll have earned thousands of inkstones. You fellows are quite lucky to be able to join our Black Dragon Tribe. If you joined the other tribes, you wouldn’t be as well off as you are with us.”

Buffett said as well, “Indeed. If other Deities wanted to join our tribe, we wouldn’t even be willing to accept them. You were sent over by the Redbud Army, however, so clearly you came from the material planes. You aren’t a spy from the enemy tribes!”

Linley’s group began to laugh helplessly.

So the reason why the tribe accepted them was because the three of them were very ‘innocent’.

“Haha, we have new brothers, eh?” Many of the dragonriders let out loud laughs. “Since you’ve arrived at our Black Dragon Tribe, in the future, we will all be brothers. Haha, Buffett, hurry up and pick a place for them to live.”

Linley glanced at those distant black dragonriders, and in his heart, he felt a surge of warmth.

It seemed that the people of the Black Dragon Tribe were all quite good.

  1. Thanks Ren and Donors 🙂

LOL, Linley with another Clayde like stash when he arrived at O’Brien Empire XD

Demigod Divine Sparks could be bought? I pity those Saints who died inside NoTG
Such clan like Reinales could easily bought a bunch Demigod Sparks and sent them to their descendants at Yulan Plane.

      1. Probably not, he has no use for it currently. I mean what’s he gonna do? Sell a god-level divine artifact just to buy another one? He doesn’t need anything right now, except a safe place for Deila to stay, and for himself and Bebe to train. But that is already covered. I guess he also needs an escort to the Indigo Palace and possible some tips for training but both of those are way out of his budget even selling everything, unless he goes with the sovereign artifact, which would so not be worth it.

        1. he could easily buy an escort or some expensive teleportation magic array transport if it exists but former is not his style, and why would he need tips for training currently

          1. good point about the training, though I guess he could use some pointers/demonstrations as to what other laws there are in earth and wind.

          2. He can do 1 thing with the highgod spark he got >_> trade it in for a wind one and give it to Delia lol.

          3. the whole point is that right now the 3 of them are flat broke.

they went from lording over an empire to having little to no value as soon as they arrived in the infernal plane.
I get what you’re saying about buying things, but you overlook one thing. I said sell, but did not particularly say they should buy anything.

There is a value in holding the local currency compared to holding items you have no use for. if none of Linleys group fights using a spear or has no intention to learn to, why keep it? it will have a decent value as far as artifacts go which can open up possibilities to them with that alone.

same for the demigod sparks, Linley won’t use them, Delia can’t, Bebe won’t. they have no other group members. keeping them is useful for future generations but I doubt they will have any anytime soon and the currency is of more use than the sparks.

He only has to show 1 or 2 demi-god sparks and an artifact to trade, since these are his new tribe family they won’t kill him in his attempt to earn some spare change either xD

          4. Because those Demigod Weapons that he will be able to buy in place of Demigod Sparks will be so useful, too… Please… It’s best to just keep it for future. It’s not like they will die of hunger anyway… lol 😛

  2. I still don’t get why Linley hasn’t started examining the Essence of the Wind. I would imagine he would get quite a power boost if he fused that with either Sound or Velocity

    1. The Earth style I think is better tbh, it has more to offer than the Wind, that’s so common. Plus the adamantine sword that was his he made it to suit him and his lights out attack come from it and it still not even a deity level yet. The wind essence and the blood violet sword is forcing him down a path already due to what’s already in the sword.

    2. Time constraints. he is currently devoted to fully fusing together the essence and throbbing pulse, once he is done that then he can move to wind more, but it is currently trying to strengthen velocity as well as learn sound waves and music to fuse for sound, I would assume that once he gets sound then he will start on the essence and see what can be done to fuse them all together.

since I can see strong connections between velocity and sound 😛 and giving it essence would make for interesting attacks and him approaching paragon of wind status slowly xD

as for earth… it seems he will need spatial gravity for sure here if he wants to further increase his speed, seems necessary for survival.

    3. Dude I like your profile pic. Mostly cause it looks like mine 😛 . If there is a way to add friends or something, tell me! Cause I’m adding you.

  3. Here we go again, more procrastination by Linley and co. Why couldn’t he just ask where the Dragonblood Clan is and find out how to get there. I predict about 15 chapters then he’s going to remember about the baptism thing when it’s really what he came there for because I’m sure all this training could be done in relative safety under his “blood relatives” But noooo more fillers.. sigh.

    1. the Indigo palace is a place he knows of but not how to reach. It’s safer to focus on the current events where he first learns what he can about the infernal realm and it’s continents, the clans and tribes surrounding his location and how one may travel between continents et cetera.

there is too much prep needed to rush into it, and if IET dropped him on the same continent as the indigo palace it would be just too convenient and reduce the quality of the overall story.

ultimately the Indigo Palace is a plot goal, not something to be sped through prematurely.

      1. Not necessarily, hell there’s the tournament thing to play around with they could hold the in house tourney play around with that.. Hell, even the clan fights and play off that seeing as they’ve got their own enemies. He can play around with that too even if they did drop him right at the doorstep.

Though i get what you’re saying, seems like an awful stretch and I’m guessing by the minuscule number of chapters in this book. The Indigo Palace subject wont be touched until B15. I guess what I’m getting at is that Linley is always content with his current situation where he’s at and puts shit off then only seems to push himself when someone gives him that kick up the arse. Example when he made the huge breakthrough when that girl cheated on him lol. But, I can only work with what we got.

        1. hmm, certain things only work depending on the scenario though, tourney would work great between mortals, but against gods whose attacks aim for a single hit kill, the tourney would have to be heavily regulated it would lose its purpose unless they were death fights. which would weaken the clan overall 🙁 probably not a great thing in the infernal plane.

I think IET’s aim is to let us see more of the Infernal plane and it’s happenings before locking into the divine beast clans indigo palace thing. I doubt it will be as bad as being called fillers (like naruto or something like that crap xD) but it should hold a few good story events itself. maybe he manages to make new lifelong friends among his current tribe? I kinda wanna see Linley lording over dragons again 😛 the last time was too underplayed lol

some breakthroughs due to emotion would be nice but I don’t think that works for deities 🙁 though it would be nice to see a return of Grandmaster Sculptor Linley 😛 as for living forever, you got to be happy with the now or you will never be satisfied with however far into the future you can live til.
but that isn’t to say he is always content with where he is, if he was he wouldn’t have bothered training and made it to saint level, he wouldn’t reach deity, really he wouldn’t have survived that 1st apocalypse day. It’s a matter of perspective, but it just seems like you want the story to rush through too fast to properly flesh out the universe of Coiling Dragon.

    2. The thing is that his destination is really too far. At his current level he might need over a 100 years to get there. And that’s the easy part. He can’t just go roaming around cuz it’s too dangerous. He’d get killed the moment he leaves the tribe’s area of influence.

    3. You seem to have missed the whole part about traveling alone is suicide. You have to realize, that most likely these new “brothers” are not willing to travel to another continent. For one it’s gonna take them forever, as in maybe 50 years? just to get there. Also quite a few would have to travel with him in order for there to be any measure of safety, as in maybe 10-20 gods. Obviously, having just joined, these guys are not gonna be willing to risk their lives for him.

      1. Not really, because you could also interpret it as these guys just saying it’s impossible and that his only way to survive is to join them as they want people fresh off the boat kinda. So they tell them this to scare them into having to settle for joining their clan, tribe or whatever.

        1. 1) they said they didn’t have to join the tribe
          2) Looking how that ape thingy got killed so casally, I don’t think it was a scare tactic, as well as words of Beirut and Hodan about the plane.
          3) Linley already had experience with random deities from infernal realm trying to kill him (sadista). Chances are there are more random deities that will try to kill him, so might as well gain info first.

  4. i have a feeling alot of people will hit on delia >_> and i mean alot lol considering the ratio between men and women is so low in the infernal realm and shes smoking hot lol.

and linley so rich already lmao

      1. I don’t think he meant because she’s strong people will want her… but they will want her just because she’s a woman. The Infernal Realm can only be reached as a saint. Most likely there are many.. many more men than women.

tbh, I think Linley should had stayed in Yulan Plane at least until he became a god thru earth.. what’s a couple decades next to an immortal life? – even though as a normal god he wouldn’t be untouchable.. but with fusing Pulse/Essence he would have been strong enough to protect Delia just in case.

        1. i agree, sure, it could bore him for a decade or 20, playing it safe back home, raising grandchildren and becoming strong enough to protect his woman.

He is immortal, no need to risk your wife’s health just so you can go risk your life a few years early…

        2. If he just trained while hidding himself, he would probably be still stuck at Peak Saint level of 256 Waves of Pulse of The World… For god knows how many thousands years, lol.

The same applies now. He will train faster if he encounters dangers. What’s the point in living a long life if it’s super boring?

          1. I didn’t mean he should hide himself forever. He told Beirut it would only take him a couple of decades to finish fusing Essence/Pulse. When he has finished he would become a god and thus would be able to move through other gods’ godrealm.

At this point though, even if he met a weak god he wouldn’t be able to break through the godrealm – so he should have waited to reach god level with earth before leaving the safety of the Yulan Plane.

          2. with his 2 demi clones and his dragonform he can pretty much neutralize god-field. course if he got god-mode he wouldn’t need all that, but if he joins a clan and sticks around for a while to learn and train, he will gain more in the infernal realm than he could in the yulan material plane.

Besides he has Bebe and Delia at his side, Bebe especially important here.

In this Infernal Plane he should be able to train faster so it helps reduce his practice time a bit

  5. Thanks for the chapter,

I forgot to mention last chapter, but this chapter proves there are Sovereigns for the 4 Edicts, for a total of 77 possible sovereign (possible as there are dead sovereigns and people with multiple sovereign sparks)
I remember we had quite a few discussion on this, on whether or not edicts have Sovereigns. (Not sure why guys say I troll when I do put some thought into my theories most of the time (most as in there was that one day with Leylin that my mind went bad from lack of sleep)

inkstone = currency made by the sovereigns of destruction. I wonder if the other sovereigns use inkstone as currency as well, or is there a conversion rate?
Considering it was said that going to material plane was hard to the level of close to impossible, I’m going to assume to go to a material plane cost trillions of inkstone?

Oh, how come Buffett is excluding the possibility that deities can come to material plane then back to higher realms? Pretty sure a spy can pretend to be innocent in the same method

    1. I think it was just because the Army dropped Linley/etc like that. If the army wanted to I don’t think they would need to resort to using spies to gain access to the dragons spit (since they are directly under the sovereign controlling the continent).

      1. I don’t mean the army itself. I mean any enemies of the black dragon tribe, who were trusting because because they came from the material realm.

Say ABS is enemy of Black Dragon. So they send someone to material realm, who then goes back go infernal realm. He pretends to be newbie, the infultrates whatever the army drops him in.

        1. Because the odds of that are extremely low. First the enemy would have to be lucky and be placed on the right continent when he travels back to the infernal realm. Then he has to hope that the public transport would take him to the right city to drop him off. And then you associate the risk the person would take if he didn’t get lucky with either the above scenarios which means it’s just not worth it period to even try.

  6. Thanks donators and ren!

Even someone as powerful as our Lord Prefect of the Nightblaze Prefecture, who might be able to deal with a regiment, would most likely then face the entire Redbud Army which would come for revenge

    You forgot a word.

who might be able to deal with a regiment, would most likely then face the entire

    Would most likely what?

  7. I feel Deila’s kidnapping is neigh xD I mean, they just said that there’s high men:women ratio xd and she’s afterall beautiful so yeh, although she’s a God I can totally imagine how 10,000,000 years god xD is abducting her when Linley is not looking, and MC enraged is going on a killing spree (He was able to kill Anras which was a god with 3 profound mysteries fused in fire-type which has the strongest attack, even Bluefire said that he was powerful for a God) destroying some sort of tribe like these Black Dragon or at least diminishind their fighting force by 70% and Black Dragons doing the rest overtaking their territory in a stroke of good luck:p (It was said that those who fused with sparks instead of breaking through with his own strength were way weaker so it is possible when Linley and Bebe join forces)

It is funny how Linley who had initially black scales after transforming is now in Black Dragon Tribe ;d When they see him like that will they treat it as lucky omen? Or will they kill him ’cause they hate draconians or his clan? It will be funny to see it:)

What I’m affraid is that we’ll have to wait to see Indigo Palace to the end of this volume or even longer ;d

It would be funny to see how Bluefire got sovereign spark in NoG and picked Linley as his champion xDD But it is kind of impossible, he’s way too weak to be picked by almighty sovereign, but who knows maybe in future when he gets more powerful 😀

    Anyways thanks for the chapter!

    1. His attack is op because he bypasses all defense and even directly attacks the soul you can have the strongest physical def in the universe but if you cant protect your soul from his attack your done lol. unless your like linley with his sovereign defense item.

And yea totally they gunna kidnap her, lol itll just be like the prison where only really strong people can afford to have a women or something where everyone else is looking for one lol.

Bebe’s grandpa probably has some influence in the plane too being a sovereigns emissary, and once they see the blood violet they will be super scared because they know who it belonged to.

      1. His attack is OP, right but he’s not the only one who’s training in these mysteries, it was said that in Infernal Realm there’s as many experts as there is coulds in the sky, and you can protect from soul attacks the same way as Linley is using Pulseguard to defend his soul, just in his case he’s having good foundation, ’cause he’s got that three golden drops in his soul, pulseguard defence and although broken he’s having sovereign soul protecting artifact and even this everything joined together only allowed him to barely win vs Anras because the other one was looking down on Linley

        1. Yea just most the time they under estimate him cause hes just a demi god lol, lots of under estimating lately and lots of dying because of it.
i wonder when he will meet his friends O__o we must see the kitties T__T

          1. Definitely, underestimation is his ace-card. Everyone (90%) have progressed through fusing sparks while the remaining (10%) have leveled naturally. The big difference is how many of those 10% actually gain insights while fusing mysteries? I bet practitioners never take into account their target foe is progressing down the path of Paragon.

        2. Agreed. Also in addition to that, it said that a complete unbroken Deity soul protecting artifact > broken sovereign soul protecting artifact.

I don’t imagine Linley being the only one with a soul protecting artifact here.

          1. Deity? Wouldn’t say so, it almost fully dispersed most powerful attack executed by Anras, that patch was broken just because Linley’s spiritual energy was too low, had he been on full-God level he’d block it completly so I’d rather say it is equal to High-God artifact in power.

          2. I said deity level, thus the general range of demigods to high gods, all of which are deities. Generally divine=deities so i still remember things correctly.

            From book 12, chapter 24:
“In terms of power, this damaged soul-protecting Sovereign artifact was actually inferior to an ordinary soul-protecting divine artifact.”

Note: I don’t think the soul-protecting artifacts when doing it job really depends on the user’s abilities, as it just a strong wall. Though if user is stronger then the maker of said artifact, he could make said wall better.
This is not taking to account side abilities like recovering the Azure defense that DBWs have.

  8. Thanks for chapter!

Im a little afraid for that tribe to scam Linley & co and make them enter some sort of eternal slave contract or something since so many WN often had some sort of that kind of element.

  9. Thanks for the chapter Ren, I Eat Tomatoes, and APB of North Carolina!

Let’s see if Linley brings out the straight chisel school in the next chapter! It may not be the biggest mansion, but the new Dragonblood might be plenty swanky. Or he might do his old “I’ll just make a cottage and have a slab for a bed while I train”.

  10. too many people here saying: “why didn’t he just go to the indigo palace, or ask for directions”… first of all, he just arrived there and he wants to explore. and secondly, there are many factions there and he doesn’t know what kind of reaction he will get if he mentions the indigo palace or even the fact that he is related to them. its better to play safe and maybe find a new deity waifu to get more dragon babies.

  11. its funny how IET took a jab at the currency system. “we dont really know what these stones are for, but since the big brothers made them they must be good”. ahahah thats why i love IET with these subtle political jokes.

    1. Not really… Currency that can be used as ‘money’ can either be something that is valuable in itself, or something that’s value is agreed upon. Just like our money. If there is no system that establishes it’s value, then all you have is pile of worthless paper… And since there it’s impossible to copy ‘ink’, it can be used as agreed upon currency.

      1. no one agreed on anything, it was forced on them by the sovereigns who created it. just like paper money, it is based on the value of gold, but thats not how it works in practice.

  12. This was a good decision by Linley, to join a clan and learn his way around the realm first before just dashing off to find the indigo palace. Still, he probably should have looked around a bit first to see which clan is suitable. Seems he got lucky, though. I hope he sticks around here until at least the God level.

Also, I wonder how they will react once they find out that Linley is a Dragonblood warrior… that could either go very well or very disastrously.

Still, super excited for this arc :333

  13. ♥Thank you for the chapter my wonderful heroes♥

  14. finally the fiend!
… I wonder if the fiends are four divine warrior descendents?!….
but aww, the love battle was interrupted!

    thx for the chapter! 🙂

  15. Good God Almighty! Boba Fett’s here? Divine Mandalorian blaster can’t be too far away then.
    Let’s shout “For Mandalore!!!”

Eh, where’s my lightsaber and vibrosword?

Thanks for the translations and donations.

  16. Inkstones, that sounds like an interesting currency to use!

    Things that were noticed:
“Although you have just recently arrived in the Infernal Realm, on that metallic airship of the Redbud Army, the various lords of the Redbud Army should have told you a few things. Fortunately, you are at the Deity level. If you were Saints, even if you had inkstones, I couldn’t care less about taking you in. – missing quotation mark at end?
“This currency can buy quite a few things. – missing quotation mark at end?
