Book 13, Gebados – Chapter 5, Sound

O’Brien Empire. The imperial palace.

That handsome young man, Adkins, who had been seated in a resting room, chatting and laughing, suddenly stopped smiling. He stared coldly towards the north, letting out an icy snort. “This Beirut really does have the power of a Highgod. However, he’s a bit too ferocious.”

“Lord Adkins.” That silver-haired old man behind him said respectfully, “This Beirut acts ferociously, but he has the ability to back it up.”

“He just relies on the Sovereign behind him to back him up.” Adkins’ slender eyebrows narrowed. His eyes were as sharp as dagger.

But Adkins knew very well that although Highgods had completely mastered their Law, in front of a Sovereign…a single thought from the Sovereign could kill the Highgod. Sovereigns were far above them, inviolable presences that could only be gazed upon in awe.

“If…if I could…” Adkins’ had a desire in his heart.

In the Gebados Planar Prison, he too had heard of what the Necropolis of the Gods contained. Even someone as him, who had the exalted position of Highgod, was filled with desire towards the treasure hidden on the eighteenth floor of the Necropolis of the Gods. But Adkins knew…

The Necropolis of the Gods was a game designed by a Sovereign.

If he wanted to enter the Necropolis of the Gods, he had to obey the rules which the Sovereign had set. To disobey the rules…was to disobey the will of the Sovereign. To disobey the will of the Sovereign…the results of that didn’t need to be questioned.

“Barnas [Ba’na’si], have you finished the investigation?” Adkins asked coldly.

The silver-haired old man behind him said respectfully, “Lord Adkins, your subordinate has already completed the investigation. Those Deities O’Brien and Catherine went to the Necropolis of the Gods nine years ago. In two more months, the ten years will be up, and they should return.”

“Good.”

Adkins revealed a rare hint of a smile on his face. “I will endure for two more months.”

“No one is permitted to compete against me!” Adkins murmured to himself, then he grabbed that cup of wine and gulped it all down!

Dragonblood Castle.

Linley had already informed Desri and Olivier of the existence of the pocket dimension training room. At this point in time, Linley hoped that Desri and Olivier would also be able to rapidly improve. Olivier, Desri, and Linley’s original body were all there training.

As for Delia, she was in her normal room.

After all, it didn’t make much of a difference if she was fusing a divine spark in the pocket dimension or in an ordinary place. Linley’s original body was in the pocket dimension, whole-heartedly focusing on training the ‘Profound Truths of the Earth’. As for the divine wind clone, it was in Dragonblood Castle, quietly meditating on the Profound Truths of Velocity as well as Bloodviolet.

In the western gardens of Dragonblood Castle, there were a few dwarf trees. It was a very quiet place.

Dressed in a light green robe, Linley was completely absorbed in meditating on the Profound Truths of the Wind and Bloodviolet.

“According to what Muba said, divine artifacts are divided into three levels. The high level divine artifacts can be described as Highgod artifacts. Above those are Sovereign artifacts. My Bloodviolet…should be a Highgod artifact.” Linley was using his spiritual energy to nurture Bloodviolet. He was able to sense Bloodviolet’s spirit.

By now, Linley had seen many divine artifacts.

But none of those divine artifacts could come close to being comparable with Bloodviolet.

“A Deity’s power is partially based on his understanding of the Laws and their applications. The other part is how well he utilizes his divine artifacts. Although I am a Demigod, if I am able to bring forth all of the power of Bloodviolet…” Linley thought back to the attack he had developed, the ‘Hymn of the Wind’.

The Hymn of the Wind combined a spiritual attack, Bloodviolet’s special properties, and the Profound Truths of Wind.

There was no need to spend much time describing its power; for him to be able to kill Beaumont with a single sword was something which Linley felt very satisfied about.

“This Hymn of the Wind, it seems…” Linley was frowning.

In Linley’s mind, he was constantly visualizing the usage of the Hymn of the Wind. His spiritual energy and Bloodviolet, mated together along with the Profound Truths of Velocity…

Although Linley was capable of utilizing the Hymn of the Wind, in truth, he didn’t fully understand the principles behind it.

“Originally, Delia had said that Bloodviolet’s sound alone was causing her soul to shake and her entire body to feel weak. Even that Beaumont…when I utilized ‘Hymn of the Wind’, Beaumont was unable to control his spiritual energy to block it.

Linley had discovered…the power of sound!

“Sound!”

Linley remembered that Snowy Panda-Cat he had met in the Necropolis of the Gods. That Snowy Panda-Cat had been wielding a flute while threatening him.

“Sound can influence, mystify, and attack the soul!” Linley came to this conclusion. “As for my Elemental Laws of the Wind, they seem to contain the Profound Mysteries of Sound.”

Linley didn’t actually understand the Profound Mysteries of Sound.

When he had originally developed the ‘Hymn of the Wind’, it was because Bloodviolet contained this sort of aspect to it already. Linley just utilized the Profound Truths of the Wind to slightly activate the sword song of Bloodviolet, resulting in that special effect. But now, Linley wanted to focus on researching this Profound Mysteries of Sound.

“Rumble…”

Linley’s divine power filled Bloodviolet, and Bloodviolet began to tremble, emitting that humming sword song.

“Where’s Lord Linley? Inside?” Gates walked into the west garden of Dragonblood Castle.

The serving maid said with a laugh, “Lord Gates, Lord Linley said that he needs to focus on his training. No matter who it is, without his permission, nobody is to be permitted to enter the west garden. Right now, the only person in the west garden is Lord Linley himself.”

“No person is permitted to enter?” Gates was somewhat surprised.

So what if someone went in while he was training?

However, how could they know that Linley was currently researching the Profound Mysteries of Sound, of the Elemental Laws of the Wind? The sound attacks he created wouldn’t harm himself, of course, but if someone else entered, it would easily harm them. As for Linley, he wasn’t slowly researching this Profound Mysteries of Sound in a prescribed order.

He was only starting off from what he knew of Bloodviolet as his base to heighten the power of Bloodviolet.

If one wanted to advance in a short period of time, one had to focus on the weapon.

“Everyone is meditating and training. The atmosphere of Dragonblood Castle has changed.” Gates turned and left. During this period of time, Linley, Desri, and Olivier, the three Deities, were all training nonstop, hoping to raise their power yet again.

As for Barker, Zassler, Delia, and Haeru, they were all fusing their divine sparks.

But who would have imagined that Linley continued training in the west garden without stopping. Over the course of an entire month, Linley didn’t leave the west garden a single time. As for the other people of Dragonblood Castle, they didn’t dare to disobey Linley’s orders. They had to wait.

Wharton, Gates, Ankh, Boone, and the others were walking side by side as they left the training grounds.

“That simple, single sword attack of Olivier’s released a group of experts. This really is a huge headache.” Gates said.

Wharton nodded as well.

Olivier’s single sword blow had utterly turned the Yulan continent on its head.

“When the War God and the High Priest come back, they will most likely be stupefied.” Gates smirked.

“You know, that’s so true. Both their Empires are gone.” Hazer laughed as well.

“When they are back, they’ll need to have a conference with my big brother on how to deal with this disaster.” Wharton said with some anticipation.

The more people they had, the easier to accomplish some things. Although the War God and the High Priest were also Demigods, they had reached that level a long time ago. In addition, Dylin was himself a divine beast. If their group of Demigods joined forces, they could still manage to find some stable footing.

“All we can do is wait. In another month, the War God and the others will be back.” Wharton said.

“I hope the War God and the others were able to make breakthroughs in the Necropolis of the Gods.” Ankh said seriously. “If they didn’t break through, even if the War God and the others return, it’ll be hard to say if they will be able to defeat that Ojwin.”

The group suddenly paused in their chatting.

In front of them was a middle-aged man, dressed in simple long robes. A hint of a smile was on this man’s face.

“Who are you?” Ankh shouted the question.

“Muba?” Wharton frowned. Last time, when Muba had come, Wharton had seen him.

“He’s that Deity, Muba?” Ankh and the others were a bit surprised as well. That day, when Muba had arrived, Ankh and the others hadn’t seen them. Afterwards, when they had heard of Muba, all they knew was that Muba was a Deity-level expert.”

“Wharton.” Muba’s face still had that faint smile on it. “I’m here to see Linley.”

“My big bro is currently training. Only…” Wharton shook his head. “My big bro gave the order that without his permission, nobody is permitted to go in and disturb him. You came at an unfortunate time.”

“Oh?” Muba immediately spread out his divine sense.

Instantly, he located Linley in the west garden. When their divine senses touched, Linley discovered Muba as well. “Oh, it’s Muba. If there’s something to discuss, come over.”

Muba’s body flashed towards the west garden.

“This Muba.” Wharton was rather angry. “My big bro forbade anyone from going in to disturb him, but he’s still going in.” Wharton immediately ran towards the west garden. Wharton didn’t know that Linley had spoken to Muba through their divine senses. Soon, Wharton arrived at the gate to the west garden.

The maid stationed outside the west garden’s gate was currently running away from it.

“Why are you running around?” Wharton barked at them.

“Lord Wharton.” The maid curtsied. “Lord Linley ordered me to go prepare some fine wine and delicacies for his guest.”

Within the west garden of Dragonblood Castle.

“Mr. Linley, I am in admiration. In such a short period of time, the three of you, joining forces, actually managed to kill Beaumont.” Muba sighed in praise. “That Beaumont was an extremely powerful Demigod. He was very strong in both spiritual and regular attacks.”

Linley laughed as he glanced at Muba.

“Mr. Muba, I’m not sure why you have made this trip. Please tell me.” Linley said directly.

Muba smiled. “I’ve come to help you, Linley.”

“Help me?” Linley couldn’t help but look at Muba in surprise.

In truth, he and Muba didn’t have a deep relationship between them. Last time, Muba had told him some information about divine artifacts. As a result, Linley focused on attuning with Bloodviolet and meditating on combining Bloodviolet, his spiritual energy, and the Profound Truths of the Wind, eventually developing the Hymn of the Wind.

One could say that without Muba’s information, he wouldn’t have been able to develop the Hymn of the Wind.

“My situation right now really is quite terrible. Can it be that you, Mr. Muba, have come to help my side fight my enemies?” Linley asked.

“I don’t have that sort of ability.” Muba laughed. “I’ve come to give you some information on those Deities that have appeared in that Yulan continent, Linley.”

Linley couldn’t help but feel wild joy in his heart.

Linley still had no idea how powerful that Ojwin who destroyed his imperial palace was, which was why he hadn’t dared to take any action.

“Then let me thank you in advance, Mr. Muba. Mr. Muba, please tell me the detailed information. I will be endlessly grateful.” Linley said seriously.

Muba laughed. “Mr. Linley, no need to be so grateful. I’m doing this to make friends with you, Mr. Linley. As long as you consider myself your friend, Linley, then everything I’ve done will have been worth it.” Muba’s smile was very sincere.

Linley didn’t spend any time thinking about what Muba’s aims were. At least he was willing to help out.

“Mr. Muba, you are my friend, of course. Muba, please speak, especially regarding that Ojwin.” Linley said.

Muba nodded as he spoke. “Before that, Linley, let me first tell you that there is a city within the Gebados Planar Prison known as ‘Bluefire City’. Within Bluefire City, Ojwin is a rather famous expert, and his power in Bluefire City is fairly high as well. He has reached the God level.” Hearing Muba’s words, Linley couldn’t help but grit his teeth.

A full God!

For now at least, he couldn’t act against Ojwin.

    should be
But Adkins knew very well that although Highgods had completely mastered their Law

    1. He himself said that he can’t offend Sovereign in this matter, so if he wants to enter (send his subordinates?) to Necropolis, he needs to do it through Beirut 🙂 Regardless yeah, i agree that i also see him dying in battle with Beirut at some point 🙂

  2. waaah! what the hell??! I couldn’t login to my account after my comment in the prev chap! this is not fair! and I couldn’t even access the site for a long time after this chapter was out! I was trying reopen it in new tabs again and again! that was torture! T.T
Is this all cuz of that attack? then whoever doing this shouldn’t just go to hell, he should come to me so I can torture him to death! aaaah!!! why? why does these things ruin my special day! *sob*
*sigh* sorry for my nonsense comment ren, and thx btw!

    1. I kinda hate that cocky Adkins guy! seems he’s up to no good, poor O’Brien and Cathy, they won’t even get a chance for a little vacation after all NoG visits!

and for Linley, now’s the time for the ‘profound truths of sound’ 😛
as I remember someone predicted this ‘sound’ thing before right? I wonder who??

btw I lost my profile pic! so there actually is a silver lining to this, ha ha ha
now that it has lost on it’s own the bet is officially cancelled! screen shots doesn’t matter!

PS to Ruby – Ruby do you have a divine clone named ‘Not Miss Ruby’ ??

          1. Fine TsunTsun-Nyan, now it has to be a Cat-eared girl. color is not important. but she must be between a young child and just entering into maturity.

people won’t accept you getting off scott free xD

          2. like the hell I’ll put that sort of thing as my profile pic.

and I can’t renew my avatar, there’s no avatar choice in profile edit menu! is this another bug???

          3. No, they were temporarily disabled but they are still present in the website and will return once Ren has figured out how to apply a layer of varnish on them 😉

    1. bad guy! definitely a bad guy!
what idiot will give away free information at the time of a cold war!
that guy’s defiantly gunning for Beirat, since he’s trying to be ‘Linley’s friend’ but I have no idea what is it that he wants to gain from Beirat?! well it doesn’t matter either way since Beirat wouldn’t even help Linley, so no way he would help ‘Linley’s friend’

    2. I say Muba is either Lawful Neutral or Neutral Good.
A few chapters ago, they were talking about the demigods in the sector close to bloodviolet sealing spot, with Muba being kind, Dylin the strongest, Grandwarlock as evil, and the other guy as cruel.
So with that, we kinda have the words of IET that is not an evil character and doesn’t have bad intentions.
Though I said the terms Neutral instead of good as he just like Cesar. At the time, Cesar was neutral, and only became good when he actively protected Linley and promised to guard Barker Bros.
Like wise, Muba hasn’t asked for anything in return, nor helped in the last fight (if he did, he’ll be good). He has reason to help considering he already had beef with the guy.

That and most of the characters so far have been transparent. Only exception was Radiant Church for the first few chapters, but they didn’t really have a part in the story till after Linley’s graduation, and we knew something was off when Linley didn’t like surrendering to the Church during the holidays with Alice.

        1. nooo TsunTsun-Nyan, you must treat him fairly.

IET has used characters in all his works who do have a truly likeable personality and modus operandi, despite the kind of world they live in. there may only be few who can afford to be kind due to power but they would exist logically speaking when you consider just how many deities there were in GP.

As for motivation, it’s often for valuable favors later on. Beirut is strong yes, but without a direct important connection to him orhis sovereign befriending Linley will fail to serve him well in this current situation. It’s more probable in my opinion that he favors Linley now because he knows how quickly he will progress and that means he can get a return sooner than normal, maybe in a life threatening situation.

there is still the uber-rare case where he genuinely just wants to be a good friend and thus acts as he does. It is certainly hard to make friends later on, but by no means impossible, or else our young MC’s would find it hard to appeal to any of the long-lived people who came before xD

          1. nope I still won’t believe he would make such a decision which is rather stupid since Linley is still just a demigod. giving his companionship to that Ojwin would be wise choice since he has the more power in this situation, it also would be the more safe choice! even a genius would take at least 500 yrs reach highgod lvl!
so we can be somewhat sure of the conclusion that he is wish to befriend to Beirat through Linley.

and you really are too naive if you believe that such genuine people exist in a place as GP for a countless years!

and would you quit calling me tsun nyan! I’m not deceivable cold-lovely person nor I’m a cat or catish human or whatever!

          2. Don’t forget we don’t know what relationship muba has with the current people in power.
He might have been a sort of vagrant, and now that he’s come to the yulan continent he has sort of lost his place. So he might be looking for some sort of protection, at least on a very basic level, by allying with linley. Considering he says he ‘doesn’t have the power’ he most likely isn’t willing to put his own life on the line though..

But then again, yuzu, isn’t any relationship even in our world based on gains? So, even if he wants something in return, that’s only normal…

The term ‘using people’ is only spoken by people that felt they were victims and were harmed because, either it was willingly, unwillingly, or because they were stupid enough not to be careful themselves. There is no proof yet muba wants to harm linley, so until he does, even if he wants to get closer to beirut or whoever else, he is an ally.

          3. He is only a Demigod, after all. And one who is incapable of safely killing Beaumont by himself. He probably does not have best of relationships with people from Gebados, and he is (probably?) not part of any faction. It only makes sense for him to establish good relationship with Linley if giving him those informations does not cost him anything 🙂 After all Linley reached Diety level really fast, and is good at ultizing his knowledge. What’s more he is somehow connected to Beirut, what can be helpful in indirect ways. Just because Muba is seeking stable footing in this plane does not mean that he can’t be a good guy 🙂

          4. The thing is, where in CD have we encountered that type of character? Apart from the lion king thing and the church…nowhere. There’s no indication that muba is a bad guy at this moment >.>

      1. who knows he maybe a part of that ‘competitor’ and just showing Linley a friendly face while gathering information gaining insights on profound truths of spying! 😉

  3. Thanks for the chapter Ren and donors. I was able to log in at long last.
I wonder when we’ll find out Muba’s aims. I also wonder what happened to Chiquita? He became free after Beaumont’s death but he probably has been captured again.

Adkins seems to be itching for a fight with Beirut which I think he will loose. I wonder if all deities survived necropolis or a few died.

    1. Chiquita is my question so far, too. As he was responsible for the Golden Soul Pea/s (100m souls) construction. As those souls potentially are a huge power up and yet haven’t been referenced since.
Also what happened to Beaumont’s possessions, e.g., ring and sword, as only his spark was stated as being captured?

    2. Beirat wasn’t worried about highgods, only that they would hide and he couldn’t find them, in a fight he and adkins might be equal but Beirat probably has sovereign artifacts

  4. Thanks for the chapter!

I wonder what will I O brien and Cathy do after all…

And hope Dylin comes to Linley aid too…

What I did not read was anything about Caesar at all. Hope he is fine.

    1. Well, unlike the other 3, Caesar doesn’t have an area of control, so the new deities on here have no reason to know of him.

Who is more cause for worry when both are equal personal power: A ruler or a lone wolf?

He is not really a leader of his assassination guilds, and would most like want to give away his position there away. But I doubt any deity want to control the assassination guilds since they can do any killing themselves since their level, power is might.

      1. well, it’s not really that either. Caesar, for the most part, is an unknown deity. what that means is very little supporters to ‘worship’ him if any and his soul defense is very weak as a result.

these Gebados Escapees are right to look down on the current Yulan deities because they are simply too young to have amassed any real power or sources of protection.

        1. look down yes, but the new deities are not really going around killing all the former exerts. The only reason to do so is if they have beef with them or just something they want.
Which is why Linley didn’t kill cult of shadow’s Angel durring the war over the Mine.

Just saying he is safer then the other 3 because he is unknown where the other 3 have something the other deities may want.

          1. He did kill them (fallen angels), actually, each and every one that came to the battle -,^ Go re-read, again, and again. You are missing so many facts in your coments, fss…

And yea, it seems that those new Gods and Highgods don’t care about Demigods from Yulan enough to go kill them all. They at least gave them enough face to spare their lives, what is nice, i guess 😛

          2. Why would they care? It’s not like the wargod or the high priest can actually do anything. And ascension to full god or high god takes so damn long it isn’t even worth considering (for normal people).

          3. @Caladbolg
            Wrong battle.
I’m referring to the start of the war, where Linley found out the Cult of Shadows is against him, so he went to find their executor guy but instead found a fallen angel.
The Fallen Angel said he was confident Linley wouldn’t lower himself to kill him.

Simple put: they are too weak to lower themselves to kill.

Now, if the weak people tried to kill said strong person (like the battle you are thinking of), or directly anger them, like War God call himself War God, that a different story

    2. I get the feeling the 2 demigods will die on returning from the NotG.

Caesar is unknown to the continent as a whole so should be safe. his girl is safe by way of protection from Beirut, and Linley I think is still only known as a saint(?) so escaped execution?

dylin does owe a favor, but it isn’t returnable in this situation, besides its a fight for the empire so it should be handled by Linley personally. :s

      1. I don’t think they’ll die. Lord Beruit will most likely be with them on the way back.
Unless He is really mean, he should tell them new experts came in, so instead of going to what was their empire, they’ll follow him to the forest of darkness then to Linley

        1. Considering they have no contact with the outside world in NotG? How would they? Unless beirut tells them when they come out of it in a months time, which would be nice, you now, so they don’t gatecrash into, by now, someone else’s empire.

          1. They were told by Beirut that in 10 years Linley would reach Diety level…

And i think this guy meant execution by experts from Gebados, as far as being a Diety goes – he asked if the new experts knew about Linley becoming Diety, as it was not really made public yet 😉

          2. Well, he was talking about dylin and ceasar, etc and the new deities weren’t really mentioned. Where did you read that?

And yes, they’ll probably assume he has become a deity, but then again, so should bebe but he still hasn’t…

          3. I am not native english speaker so it’s easier for me to understand when someone kills language a bit 😛 Let’s just wait for original poster to confirm instead of arguing about pointless thing 😛

  5. Question Ren

Before, the Deity level ranks were
    High God, Full God, Demigod
    Now it seems to be
    High God, God, Demigod

is there any reason in particular that Full God—> God?

    1. a full god is basically a god, interchangeable terminology. if they were in a list then it makes sense to say full god, but in conversation saying just god is enough, because the only other positions have the demi- or high- prefixs. if ignoring rank then one would just say deity.

it’s also a kinda western thing in that gods are considered the normal (thus no additional names), demi-gods were weaker due to being half mortal (here it is the stage where they basically look for insights to leave behind their last bit of mortality) and high gods tend to be a specific few who “rule the pantheon” or a league above typical gods.

an easy way to consider it is that things are determined by an average/midpoint, and then titles are given to everything above and below. it’s ironically a rather human way of looking at things i admit.

  6. I wonder what the status of The War Saints and the Great Plains. 99% certain someone got to that area…

In Fact, I don’t think it was said that Great Plains joined the the empire before the whole thing happened. More like they were on the fence.

    1. the details were lacking yes, but I think they were resolved in the end to losing their land to Linley, only because Linley told them not to rush the war effort, it should not have been seized yet. if the saints are alive still then they should be rallying under Linley’s banner soon enough. but then most sane people would flee when a sudden influx of people above their power show up.

either they are dead and their land seized or their land is about to be seized and they begin fleeing to Dragonblood castle.

  7. atm i am more interested in what happend to those 100m souls 0.o if linley could refine those, i bet his soul would be as powerful as full god atleast since 20m souls increased his soul strength by 4/5+ times, i think he should check that ring and get the souls and refine them already -_-

    1. Maybe he is waiting to absorb those only after he gets his earth divine clone? IET probably got asked about those when he was releasing this novel ages ago, so he probaaably did not forget 😛

  8. Thanks everyone for the chapter!

So Linley has to first make to a full god then a highgod or somehow use the favor of Dylin owes him. I wonder how this is going to play out.

    1. the favour dylin owes him won’t be much good in this situation. it’s best saved for another time. as far as I know of the rules of progression in wuxia and xianxia novels, it is that the important fights must be fought personally, and favours used to safeguard family or make those personal battles easier in some way.

    2. Dylin was only at the peak of being a demigod, unless he got a major breakthrough in Necropolis of the God, and became a Full God, then that’s another matter.

  9. urk, well at least ojwin is still within killing range and isn’t something as annoying as a high god. Linley keep stronger brother, he shall be slain >:D

    1. It also indicates that the only high gods are adkins and perhaps the guy that took over the yulan empire. And going by the flow, that’ll probably be one of the 5 kings.

        1. Actually, that’s not sure. I mean, we still haven’t gotten the reason why all those experts settled down in the yulan plane except move on. There is likewise also no reason for those kings to move on. True, they might be powerful on the higher planes but the same applies here. Furthermore, their power their might be contested, and they will probably not be the strongest highgods out there.

Personally, I see no reason why they would or would not move on.

          1. Actually, we did. Go re-read. They settled here because it’s their home plane, and as side benefit they hope to gain from Necropolis.

          2. You really are spamming out the ‘re-read’, kind of obnoxious >.>
And yes I know that, I’ve read that as well….still, that doesn’t really explain everything. Considering the lure of the higher planes which is just as strong as the NotG since that’s what they’ve longed for all this time, it’s odd the majority of them stay behind. I can see why they would stay, homeworld, NotG, faith, but I can also see why they would move on…
And what you said only confirms my theory, the kings wouldn’t necessarily move on either, since the NotG also holds lures for them. If it works for a normal high god, it works for them as well.

          3. It’s just my liked word for today, or something ~~ Don’t worry about it, hueh.

And you need to remember that Higher Planes are most probably enormous in size, so even Highgods will not be that great with noone backing them up. Only around 2-3 thousand (?) Experts escaped from Gebados. Also, as said by Beirut, Yulan plane is also ancient and important one. Why go into danger to Higher Planes if they can establish themselves here with ease?

          4. I’m going to say everyone going to disagree at this point.
Cause all this discussions is going to lead to what we had the last few chapters:
How many Sovereigns are there? Multiples of 7 or 11? 1 for each laws and edict, or a Multiples for each. (I think Ren answered this part before though).
What happens when a Sovereign dies? Does everyone know about that? What happened to his Spark?

Unless we get new info to answer these questions, any more discussion why the new Deities stayed would lead to –> NotG–> Sovereign questions.

          5. Lol, I love how you just did a whole 180° turn in your opinion. First you state that the highgods wouldn’t stay in the yulan plane, now you state they wouldn’t go to a higher plane.

Anyway, that’s one of the arguments I’ve been using too. And even if they have a backing, most likely the empires are long established between the most powerful high gods. So if a new high god, a even as a king he’ll be likely to be less powerful, enters the scene, he might not be able to establish himself, and it might be even worse. Because a full god might be seen as a potential subordinate but a powerful high god might be a seen as a threat and subsequently killed to prevent a new powerbase from appearing. A highgod there might not even get faith as a result and be hunted down.

But there are definitely reasons for going there as well, more powerful followers, most likely a closer relationship with the sovereign, easier training, more powerful relations, etc.

And I’ll make a new post on the topic of the higher planes to avoid clutter here >.> so see down below for that.

          6. @yYao, true, but you never know what you’ll get before you discuss it. And if we go by that rule we don’t have to discuss anything because IET can bend the story however he wants. Besides, half the fun of the story, I find, is discussing it and trying to find potential routes, plotholes, inconsistenties, etc.

Ren, Sorry for the double post >.> I’ll beg the dark sovereign to forgive me by saying a prayer three times to the east, two times to the south and twelve times to the north.

Also yYao, you snatched the post spot while I was typing >.>

          7. I only said that those Kings, being on very top of Highgod power levels would not stay. I never said that less powerful highgods would surerly leave. So i did not really change my opinion 😉

          8. @Black,
True, but what happens here is the same topic is being brought up every chapter, with the same discussion.
If it happens multiple chapters, then I say it time to take a break and just wait for info before discussing again

          9. Yao, you need to remember that some people enjoy to argue. For example me. For you it might seem like we are ‘angry’ at each other for having different opinions, but we are just exchanging arguments for fun 😉

          10. Exactly, arguing in this sense is fun.

Speaking of different opinions by the way. What makes you think those 5 kings are different from the other high gods. The only thing mentioned about them was that they were the most powerful entities in GP for a long long time. It doesn’t mean they are at the absolute peak of the high gods. And it also doesn’t mean the NotG wouldn’t lure them. Nor that the yulan plane from which they hail would attract them…
Idk, I just don’t see the difference between them just because they have a bit more power than the other high gods…

  10. Thanks for the chapter, RWX and donors. Site finally came back 😀 I hope IET doesn’t rush Linley to the next level in power. As long as he is a peak demigod in power he can manage to live. It will be too boring if he suddenly becomes a full god.

    1. if the book name is anything to go by, things should be interesting enough with a focus on Gebados, plus everyone knows they can’t rush, and Linley is trying to understand the Sound attribute so we should get a bit of writing on that too 😛

i thinks its time for a story within a story xD

    1. This castle is in the middle of nowhere. He wanted to take over country, he does not care if Linley stays in his ‘summer house’ within it, probably… 😉

  11. Thanks for the chapter 🙂
and glad the website is functioning again.

remark / question : the last few day’s when visiting chapters on my mobile i had a advertising that redirected your website away. it went to this website. (space in url just to make sure people don’t click its spam / virus at best ) http://m. sinoadv.com/topic/winiphone6/?geo=NL
It was only on your website and made it almost impossible to read the chapters on my phone.
Its a spammy you win “Blabla” or you got a virus download this page.

    1. Like I mentioned above, the fact that that owjen (seriously, weird name) is a god and not a high god indicates that only two high gods came to the yulan plane. Atkins and the guy in the yulan empire. Also, going by how many times the kings were mentioned linley is bound to confront them at some point. So it is logical to assume the deity in the yulan empire is a king.

Edit: in discussion above with caladbolg about this >.>

      1. Well, we also know that at least 1 Highgod went to higher planes, the one with younger brother being at God level. Hmm, possibly this younger bro is the one who took over Baruch empire? Need to check if any names are mentioned there 🙂

          1. Considering that they probably don’t know who freed them and that they’re not named either, (I think they weren’t, I don’t want to go re-read) it seems somewhat unlikely for them to play a further role.
It’s more likely to fill in a plothole of ‘why don’t the experts go to a higher plane’ more so than to be useful as a potential plotdevice. I mean, it’s teeming with strong experts in there anyway.

Also don’t forget there are 11 higher planes >.> the chance they’ll end up on the same plane as linley, unless by story writing law, is very small.

          2. They should be aware that they were freed by this group of 3 Dieties there 🙂 At least those of God and Highgod level should be 🙂 Remember how one of them spoke to Linley’s group mentally? 😉

          3. Wasn’t he just voicing his ‘I’m home,’ verbally? Or have I forgotten something? >.> And I wonder in what sense they actually paid attention at their surroundings when they were so ecstatic from being freed. Oh well, they most likely know >.>

What makes me wonder more is how all those deities seem to know who’s currently in power and what empires there are. They only solution I see is mind reading… >.>

  12. so, i managed to read the chapter from my phone, i had trouble reading BTH tho 😛 but i didn’t seem to have that many problems with Coiling Dragon 🙂

  13. On the topic of the higher planes. How are they different from the gebados prison?
So far, the only differences I can see are the fact that the higher planes train quicker and the gebados doesn’t train unless with fighting(or so we are led to believe, but now the deity linley trains in his yard and he doesn’t seem to need the elements for his laws >.>).

Other than that, there really isn’t much difference. I mean, true, on a higher plane you can technically leave, but it is incredibly difficult to do so and going to a lower plane is basically a no-no (unless you’re beirut). And since you’re bound to your own laws, even if you go to another higher plane you most likely need to return at some point. So, in essence, it is also a prison.

And they both have tons of strong experts roaming around which most likely makes them both equally as dangerous.

And before you say because of the sovereign, since there is only one, I don’t think the experts need to have a lot of hope to become one >.>, perhaps for relations with him but that seems more of a forced subordination with the benefit that other people don’t want to mess with you.

    1. There is no natural elemental energy in Gebados, so one can’t recover his strenght after fighting, unless he absorbs power of killed opponent. Also there is no Overseer there, so it’s hard to leave this plane and even Highgods would need to risk their life be going through Chaotic Space…

Also Gebados is prison, after all. In normal planes you won’t be killed/enslaved if you don’t offend anyone unless you are really unlucky. But there death is normal occurance. Also from what Saints from Gebados said, even being able to eat fruits is something that requies one to be at Diety level of power…
