Chapter 354 – Devoid of All Life

From top to bottom, Burning Heaven Clan no longer had the strength worthy to battle with Yun Che. Even though there were still tens of thousands of disciples, it still wouldn’t cause any threat to Yun Che even if their numbers were to double. Following Burning Heaven Elders’ roars, everyone stepped on their fears of annihilation and the grief of the clan’s destruction. Uttering howls after howls of wolf like sounds, they grabbed their weapons and rushed toward Yun Che.

Yun Che raised up his head, his gaze sweeping toward the quickly nearing crowd; there wasn’t a single hint of fluctuation on his tranquil expression. Ahead of him, the last thirteen elders of Burning Heaven Clan rushed up altogether. Amidst despair, grief, and indignation, their expressions were completely distorted, their eyes stared round to the extent of almost bursting. Carrying various degrees of injuries on their body, they erupted a strength far surpassing their ordinary selves.

Yun Che unfeelingly raised the gigantic sword and stepped forward… which was also the first step of today’s massacre! And it was more so the first step to send Burning Heaven Clan into the abyss of total annihilation.

The thirteen Burning Heaven Elders only wished that they could perish together with Yun Che; facing Yun Che’s strike, they didn’t even bother to dodge, and forcefully greeted forward. But the strength of the Sky Profound Realm, simply didn’t have any threat at all in the current Yun Che’s eyes. Amidst a rumbling sound, they were all blown flying, and half of them instantly sustained heavy injuries. Yun Che stepped forward again as a second wave of power erupted from Dragon Fault, straight toward Fen Duanhun.

Fen Duanhun wasn’t Yun Che’s match from the start, and in addition to that, his wounds hadn’t healed yet. He was blasted away by Yun Che with a single strike as one of his arms fractured on the spot. However, Yun Che did not follow up on him. Instead, his gaze instead locked onto the Fen Yijue behind Fen Duanhun, and ferocious phoenix flames were fiercely swung out from the heavy sword.

The frightening power sliced out a violent ripple in space and the scorching light of fire shone upon Fen Yijue’s ghastly pale face. His footsteps retreated backwards as both of his arms guarded before his body with all his strength…

The phoenix flame exploded, but the oppressive strength coming from heavy sword wasn’t blown apart, and destructively impacted Fen Yijue’s barely constructed defense… Recklessly using profound energy under heavy injuries, and then receiving fierce strike, caused Fen Yijue to finally spew out a large mouth of blood as all of his energy dissipated after he consecutively retreated over several dozens meters. Phoenix Break drove straight through, smashed onto Fen Yijue’s chest… and exited through his back side with a scream!

“Grand… Grand Clan Master!”

Fen Yijue looked at the utterly chaotic Burning Heaven Clan scattered about in a mess with a dumbfounded expression, and for a moment, the scenery of the once dignified and glorious Burning Heaven Clan emerged before his eyes. But these sceneries of before, turned into a boundless blank space at the very end, and his body, also slowly fell within this vacant world without boundaries. The last sounds heard beside his ears, were the voices of tragically grief-stricken cries surrounding him.

Even though Fen Yijue hadn’t appeared publicly for over twenty years, he was, from beginning to end, Burning Heaven’s true foundation. His death, also meant that Burning Heaven Clan was truly and genuinely finished.

“No need to shout so loudly.” Yun Che expressionlessly spoke: “Because all of you… will accompany him to hell shortly!!”

As his voice fell, a colossal ball of phoenix flames suddenly exploded, and in an instant, the violent fire of the phoenix drowned several hundred meters of distance surrounding him and swept countless Burning Heaven disciples into the flaming purgatory of certain death… The phoenix flames spread with the wind, engulfing more and more of Burning Heaven Clan’s land… Even though it was already dawn, the incomparably scorching firelight still painted the skies above Burning Heaven Clan with the color of blood.

Xiao Juetian, who was in deep thought with his eyes closed, abruptly stood up as though he was suddenly struck by a thunderbolt. Both of his hands were trembling, his forehead was instantly covered in cold sweat.

“Sect Master, what happened?” The elderly person beside him anxiously asked.

The corner of Xiao Juetian’s eyes trembled, and his face clearly displayed deep shock and fright. As the Xiao Sect’s Sect Master, he had almost never revealed such an expression: “Second Uncle’s soul imprint disappeared… He… died!”

“What!?” Black clothed elderly person uncontrollably shouted with shock, and then shook his head in fear: “Impossible! Elder Wuyi’s profound strength is only second to Grand Sect Master and is almost unmatched in the entire Blue Wind. Moreover, he had an entire five Heaven Decimating Orbs on him, how can he possibly…”

“I don’t want to believe it either, but the soul imprint won’t lie! Second Uncle has indeed died. Moreover, from the weakening of the soul imprint to the time it completely vanished, only a few breaths of time had passed from start to finish. Not only did Second Uncle die, it had been tragically done in under an extremely strong power. With Second Uncle’s strength at the third level of the Emperor Profound, being able to kill him in such a short amount of time….”

As Xiao Juetian spoke till here, he could no longer bear to continue speaking any further. He clearly felt a gust of chilly wind surging within his spine, the cold seeping deep into his marrow… Yun Che heavily wounding Fen Yijue and killing Fen Ziya, had already caused him to be shocked at his might. And Xiao Wuyi quickly dying within a short period of time, told him even more about how terrifying of an extent Yun Che’s strength had already reached… Most importantly, Xiao Wuyi dying, testified that not only was he unable to kill Yun Che, he was instead killed by Yun Che. After Yun Che finishes dealing with Burning Heaven Clan, the previous hatred three years ago in addition to the new enmity now….

Xiao Juetian’s entire back was even quickly doused by cold sweat. He suddenly raised his head, and said with a urgent voice: “Immediately… Immediately go ask Bluefire’s Branch Sect to scout the current state of Burning Heaven Clan with all their power… quickly go!”

“…Yes!” The black clothed elderly person quickly went away.

After heavily breathing a few times, Xiao Juetian quickly calmed down, then dashed out of the Main Pavilion with haste, and headed directly toward the secret ground Grand Sect Master Xiao Wuqing was at… He had already felt that a great calamity concerning Xiao Sect’s survival was about to come, and there was almost no way this great calamity could be avoided. The entire Xiao Sect had to make any preparations that could possibly be done starting now.

Burning Heaven Valley’s air today was extraordinarily scorching. A ball of incomparably hot flame crazily burned in the center of Burning Heaven Valley, and in less than two hours of time, it creeped out over five kilometers away and completely engulfed the Burning Heaven Clan’s thousand year old territory until it was burned into a barren wasteland.

Under the flames, was one after another, pile after another pile of corpses burned into charcoal. From Burning Heaven Clan’s elders to several tens of thousands of ordinary disciples, no one was able to escape from this sea of flames ignited by the phoenix flame, and all lost their lives under the phoenix flame and Dragon Fault.

A true field littered with corpses, devoid of all life.

The once high and mighty Burning Heaven Clan looked up with awe by others, and could be called the Blue Wind’s sacred ground, was turned into charred ground just in this one single day, and became a graveyard looming with a burnt, barren, and despairing atmosphere.

Standing within the blackened debris, looking at the Burning Heaven Clan completely destroyed by him, Yun Che didn’t feel joy, didn’t feeling pity, and didn’t feel conceited or prideful from having destroyed one of the Four Major Sects. What he felt instead was calmness… Tens of thousands of people being buried under his flames and heavy sword, yet he was as calm as though he had merely squashed a crowd of lowly ants to death.

And this kind of calmness wasn’t deliberately acted out or sustained by him, it was instead a true and genuine calmness that stems from the soul. Ordinary people couldn’t possibly witness such a situation and scenery, and more so couldn’t cause them. Yet to him, it was already too too many times…

Back then, it was because of enmity. Those people that killed his Master, he used the heaven opposing poison of the Sky Poison Pearl, and made those sects face total annihilation one by one… Making entire sects, and even the surrounding cities into fields of stacked corpses. And amongst them, there were even many sects whose scope and scale far surpassed the Burning Heaven Clan.

Today, it was similarly because of enmity. Even though Xiao Lie and Xiao Lingxi were both already rescued by him, and were all safe and sound, after experiencing his past life, he would never let himself to idiotically take pity and be merciful. Even if he was to be called the devil, be cast aside, cursed, and feared by the people of the world, he still absolutely would not regret today.

Because in his previous life, it was precisely because of mercy that other people had forced his Master to die; it was precisely because of mercy, that after many times of scraping past death, he was still forced down Cloud’s End Cliff in the end; it was also because of a moment of mercifulness, that gave Burning Heaven Clan the chance to abduct his Grandfather and Little Aunt! It wasn’t because his heart had become ice cold and dark, it was instead the two lives he lived once and once again teaching him, that any mercy to the enemy, was cruelty to the people by his side… and sometimes, this cruelty was fatal!

However, amidst Burning Heaven Clan’s remains, not everyone beside Yun Che was a corpse. Just ahead of Yun Che, a figure shakingly stood up. His hair was messy, his face full of dust, and his body riddled with wounds; but his pair of eyes emitted a light even more vicious than that of a ferocious wolf.

His body swayed, and he was only able to stand up after using almost all of his power. But along with an explosive roar, his entire body suddenly flooded out a surge of enormous strength from who knew where, as his entire body pounced toward Yun Che with his two hands tightly gripping toward Yun Che’s throat.

His actions made Yun Che’s gaze abruptly jump… His body was already completely exhausted, yet he still erupted with such a strength. And this.. was evidently a strength squeezed out from from the soul!

Having lived two lives, it’s actually the first time Yun Che had met someone similar to him, who had a willpower strong enough to squeeze out strength from within the soul!

Yun Che raised his arm and casually swung. A gust of howling wind swept that person a great distance away. He laid on the ground, his entire body trembling, and then, he actually slowly raised his upper body again. In those pair of eyes that stared wide with anger was a brimming hatred carved down to the bone and soul.

“Fen Juechen, you ought to just save some of your energy for breathing! Back then at the Blue Wind Profound Palace, even though you weren’t my match, you could at least barely fight with me. But the you now, doesn’t even have the qualifications of making me take a straight glance at you! With your strength, even if I am to stand here without moving, you still wouldn’t be able to harm a single strand of my hair!”

Yun Che apathetically stared that the youth in front of him whose entire body was filled with hatred and maliciousness: “I won’t kill you today, and only you. But don’t worry, the reason I won’t kill you, is not because I pity you, and more so not because I don’t want to kill you. I understand the consequences of not digging out the roots when cutting weeds better than anyone.”

“But when my Little Aunt left, she had especially appealed to me, and asked me to spare your life. I promised her… and anything I promise my Little Aunt, I will definitely achieve.” Yun Che said coldly.

Cutting weeds without removing the roots would certainly leave troubles, and the expression in Fen Juechen’s eyes caused Yun Che to feel incomparably certain that sparing his life today, would be much much more dangerous than even leaving Fen Yijue alive! What would be left, would perhaps be unpredictable future troubles.

However, since he had already promised Xiao Lingxi to spare Fen Juechen, he would absolutely not kill Fen Juechen. Moreover, from what Xiao Lingxi had said, if not for Fen Juechen getting in the way several times, Xiao Lingxi might have ended her own life because of Fen Juecheng, before he’d even reached Burning Heaven Clan.

This, was also enough to become the reason for him to spare Fen Juechen’s life.

As for the possible consequences, he was willing to completely shoulder them!

  1. i don’t understand wtf with yun che’s little aunt…she is so stupid to believed because fen juechen has save her from being sullied by fen juecheng… it is because him (fen juechen) in the first place kidnap her and her father that she is in that state…why would bother to leave him alive duh…

    and thanks for the chapter

    1. Ya, he kidnapped her, but still, in that fearful state she was in, he did save her…

And if he didn’t kidnap her, someone else would have… and she would have been treated much worse.

Plus, he kidnapped her cause the person he viewed as a 2nd father was killed by Yun Che, so it made it more forgivable. She knew he wasn’t actually a villain, and she is a kind person.

To be honest, the fact that we are so into having the enemies killed should be disturbing (though it’s probably because this is fictional and we’re only hearing it as a story).

      1. Well if he didn’t take a fancy in her then he would have sent her to the dungeon and Juecheng wouldn’t have seen her and tried to rape her. Or if we’re going full results oriented thinking, if he had morals and didn’t do the kidnapping then the plan would probably be delayed enough for Yun Che to find them first or at least intercept them midway.

And kind person? Really? If he’s so kind why didn’t he have any qualms sending Yun Che’s grandfather to the dungeons? Why did he give a beating to Yuanba just for appearing in front of him? Why was he willing to let other disciples get injured and killed in the battle with Yun Che while he was waiting by the sidelines?

I think that the mass murdering theme is a bit idiotic, since even if he kills the whole Burning Heaven Clan, who says that these people didn’t have any friends and family outside the clan that would want revenge? So unless you kill the whole world you can’t kill anyone who might harbor some resentment. But in a world without police and where the strong can indiscriminately kill, you have to protect your loved ones from the biggest threats and that includes killing people . So for me, between the thousands of ordinary disciples who had their elders murdered and the guy who could squeeze strength out of his soul and hates you to the bone for murdering everyone close to him, it’s clear what the biggest threat is, and the killing of what group is the more sinful and disturbing.

        1. 1. Fen took her to his place because using her as bait was already compromising his principles. He didn’t want her to get raped (given her appearance was almost guaranteed to happen).
          2. Her grandfather getting put in jail is normal nothing was going to happen to him except being beaten a little at most.
          3. Using Modern day logic in this situation is pointless. While it is extreme to exterminate the entire clan, he learned from his past life to let them live only will end up hurting his loved ones in the future. Besides by showing this ruthlessness, others will have to think real hard before provoking him because attacking Yun Che can result in situations worse than just their own deaths.

        2. the reason he took her to his private area was not because he fancied her it was because he figured the grandfather would be more or less safe in the prison. she wouldn’t.

    2. Remember, she’s never killed before and doesn’t know that you shouldn’t be merciful in this case. It’s a lot like Cang Yue back in the Phoenix village. She isn’t aware of the repercussions mercy could have.

  2. I really don’t understand Xiao Sect. Trying to kill Yun Che now will be logical considering they think he has a big grudge against them, which I personaly am not sure about. Because that grudge has been firmly set in Yun Ches mind; however, at times Yun Che is talking as if that is not the case. Either way since Yun Che will only keep exponentialy increase his strengh they had to act now; however, they made a half hearted attempt at that. Yun Che posses their sects destruction level of threat, so they had to try mend their grudges somehow or go all out. They did neither. Now they have to deal with consenquences. In this kind of situations it’s better be safe than sorry.

    1. What half-hearted attempt? The Xiao Sect used their Heaven Decimating Orb which have the power to severely injure or even injure a Late Emperor Profound practitioner. Also, the Xiao sect has only 23 of these orbs despite thousands of years of accumulation. On top of that, Xiao Wuyi used 5 of these orbs against his fight with Yun Che. No one expects Yun Che to survive 5 of the Heaven Decimating Orbs and with good reason.

      1. In a normal situation you will be right; however, this was in no way a normal situation. Burning Heaven sect was not much inferior to their sect and they were almost destroyed. No one on the continent thought that was possible but Yun Che did that. So when treating the threat from Yun Che, you have to consider the worst outcome possible which they didn’t.

5 Heaven Decimating Orbs might seem like a big deal, but truth is that power is borrowed and not the real power of the person using it. Thus it’s possible to backfire like it did in this case and were used against them instead or could be avoided. When you are dealing with something that bears very huge risk, you don’t make just one back up in case something fails, but several because there is a tiny possibility that wouldn’t work and causes a catastrophe. In this case Heaven Decimating Orbs were their solution, but there was no back up if that failed.

Beside you want more proof of the half hearted attempt? The fact that throne from Xiao Sect tried to hide his identity of being from Xiao Sect is proof of that.

    2. You are mistaking the grudge is not settled, he only took care of he’s Xiao Clan, the real grudge is with Xiao Sect young master who tryed to steal he’s wife and little aunt.

  3. Yun che is being such a hypocrite. Just fking kill the guy already. Claim to know it’s not good to leave the root, then don’t make your aunt a promise and explain to her, “no, he has to die too, no exception” can be mad and what ever but he won’t have to worry anymore

    1. Or just lie to Little Aunt.
Simple as that. Everyone is happy.
Or cripple him and leave him be in some city with BHC branch. Everyone is happy again.
But no, he is the MC, he cannot be logical -.-

      1. I’m for crippling his cultivation, I don’t want him to break his promise and I feel like he should be left with his life, but she never said to not cripple him, she just said not to KILL him, meaning he could just cripple his cultivation and give him some money to live his merry days with.

    2. he’ ll be possessed with his ancestor or someshit like that..but his will is strong so he still have his conciousness while having the strength of his ancestor..a possible threat in the future

      1. Dude, that’s a total spoiler, at least put it like “He might get some kind of power-up later on, because that always happens in these situations.” Why would you literally state what happened?

Not that his developments are interesting anyway, I just skimmed them through when I read it…

      1. That would be worse than death, especially to proud Jeuchen. Also crippled veins didn’t stop MC, Jeuchen could find some way to rocover too and come back, even more pissed than he already is.

        1. No, repairing completely crippled profound veins is not that easy, constructing new ones is just about impossible in this plane… But well, the mc would’ve just crippled his cultivation so it would probably have been possible to recover with some purple heaven crystal, and he would’ve received a power-up anyway, but at least I could’ve accepted that outcome a bit more, because then, at least, the author wouldn’t have made him act like a super-fool that didn’t take any precautions whatsoever and let this seed for a future power-house and troublemaker go… I’ll bet that some of his most loved ones are going to get seriously hurt by this guy and he’ll barely rescue them, maybe he’ll wake up then and not make the same mistake.

    3. Or, you know, maybe don’t kill everyone else (including the non-combatants in the sect).

Also, didn’t the inordinately proud Phoenix spirit curse the mountain clan because of this exact scenario?

      1. you are wrong about the curse. The phoenix god cursed that clan because one of them used his power to trample over innocents. In the case of Yun Che it’s understandable to a certain extent. He didnt just go there without any reason and start killing people.

        1. So what, you’re telling me little Jimmy who was just born in the clan 2 days ago isn’t innocent? Or how about tiny Timothy who’s only 1 years old and is still sucking on her mothers tits, is he not innocent?
Seriously, stop trying to defend stupid logic. You can like a novel without being an idiot over it.

          1. As I see it, western morals don’t apply here. In xanxia human life has little value and people are considered bad just by association. It may be due to asian culture being different (battles in eastern movies are often clashes between huge armies and soldiers die like flies). Also in war, large scale attacks (bombings, for example) don’t discriminate between “good or evil” people, many soldiers are just following orders, have families at home to whom they want to go back, but are dragged in by the explosion all the same. Sadly kids die too. This reminds me of nuclear bombs on Japan during WWII: although the americans were winning, Japan wouldn’t surrender, but fight with teeth and nails and american losses were very heavy. Thus the 2 bombs were dropped, causing Japan to immediately surrender.
So many people died and most of them were civillians: that was terrible, but caused the fightings to stop and prevented further deaths. History books, in that occasion, don’t describe americans as merciless murderers, and those bombings are considered a “necessary evil” that brought about the end of the conflict and peace.
This is xanxia, large numbers are dominant here. Most characters are flat, especially enemies, there aren’t “individuals” (bosses are a few exceptions, but they are still all arrogant retards with little morals) but just pawns. There is no Timothy nor Jimmy, just numbers. Xanxia light novels are all about the MC, everybody else are just means for his growth. I’m not defending that logic, but I enjoy xanxia novel and I can put up with it, I keep my morals for myself and enjoy a story about a badass MC that tramples anything that opposes him.

          2. Yeah, obviously he overdid it a bit, but what can you do, any novel is like this when it comes to clan/sect extermination, it’s taboo to leave future problems(which, coincidentally, this juechen is).

About the curse though… I think it has something to do with him being something like a “true inheritor”, that phoenix might also be too weak to curse him anymore, and honestly, he had his reasons to do this, at least he tried to reason with them and give them conditions, but they ignored all of it… Well, it wouldn’t really matter that much anyway, he could just go to the phoenix clan and get them to burn the mark with phoenix flames.

  4. Tx for the chapter. I still think that yun che should just kill fen juechen already because maybe thing’s going to be messy in the future with this guy alive

  5. He really does owe the guy a debt of gratitude though…

And I guess if he’s going to leave an enemy, at least it’s someone who should be honorable enough to not target his family.

  6. There is something bothering me.
In the previous chapters it was said that you will be cursed, if you use the phoenix flammes for evil. But Yun Che is just going round killing innocent disciples without having any problems. Did the author just forget about this condition?

    1. This is xianxia, sometimes you need to turn a blind eye to some facts if you want to enjoy it. The secret is dont think too much (in exception of some actually good piece of work)

    2. This is different.

They are a part of the organization that is enemies with Yun Che… they technically aren’t innocent since they were a part of the actions that angered Yun Che.

They were a part of the Army and were Yun Che’s enemy.

The elders wanted it to seem like they were innocent… but they really aren’t.

      1. Also, if they were truly innocent, they would have left Burning Heaven Clan when they heard how Yun Che was being hunted down. While it is true most of the truth would be withheld from them, the fact remains that the sect was ganging up on a single individual who had done them no wrong (before killing Jeubi in self defense). Though it was truly wrong from a moral standpoint, his thoughts against leaving behind people who were part of, and were okay with how Burning Heaven acted makes sense. Plus, the phoenix may not allow the killing of civilians, but in all the stories I’ve ever read, a phoenix really loves killing.

      2. so if a Chinese guy swears at me and breaks my window and I go and kill every chinese person in the world… they weren’t innocent because they identified as the same thing that the offender did? BHC is nearly as large as a small country when you include all the branches and families in the sect. Being part of BHC isn’t much different than being born to a nationality. Yun Che is killing innocents, don’t try to reason your way out of it.

      1. BHC has a lot of families in it. It’s not just a school but a clan. They have wives and children, people who have no strength. Yun Che is essentially doing genocide.

    3. It just means all their families and servants were coincidentally out visiting relatives and everyone in the sect at the time were enemy combatants. Also, apparently no combatants of the sect were on leave so Yun Che’s mass extermination of future enemies was 100% effective (… except to Fen Juechen … and the army of orphans).

  7. Yah know, I hate most about these sects is why they do needless evils -_-

I mean, the sect kids could easily get many women and treasures with ease, so they don’t need to go out of their way to piss off others…

And why do those sect elders just allow it… it’s plain stupid >.<

    Thanks for the chapter XD

    1. Well when you are such a powerhouse in a empire that even the royal family can,t anger you, you become complaisant and acted as if the world is at your feet. Even more what will a earth stage pratictioner would be able to do against them ?!? I Mean they have an army compose of those lvl with over thirty sky profound and even 2 thrones. So yeah they were way to laxist and complaisant and didnt put the world in their eyes.

  8. Thank you for the chapter!
Just out of curiosity, but does this not violate his contract with the phoenix spirit? I know the phoenix tribe were cursed when a member accidentally burned down an entire town and killed thousands of innocent lives. Does the burning of the entire sect count? I mean, yeah they provoked him and did despicable acts. But that was the decision of the higher ups. Wouldn’t the weaker disciples be considered innocent? Especially the background ones who had never encountered Yun Che before he attacked their home.

Also, its really annoying when the big sects decide to ruthlessly kill off someone stronger than them. I mean, has the idea to reconcile and attempt to apologize never occurred to them? Instead they just keep making their grave deeper and deeper with each assassination attempt. smh

      1. If a sect transgresses against outsiders, then all members, children, and even servants, are held just as responsible unless they manage to renounce all ties (and this may require concealing their identity).

Conversely if they transgress against outsiders then the sect either expels them or accepts the responsibility of defending them from retaliation (which is not the same as believing them innocent).

Your face is your sect’s face. Guilty until the seventh generation. ← this kind of thing.

Which is why this shit happens in Xianxia.

  9. thats correct people! he doesn’t have to kill, but at least cripple him, cutting one limb or two. this is why most ‘heroes’ fukced up, only to be saved by plot armor.

oh now that reminds me of certain people who doesn’t kill. batman!

    1. Cut his manhood so he will be the last member of the burning clan alive… Being dead is way more better than being alive in that kind of situation.

  10. dammit yun che, leaving him alive without crippling him? or crippling his cultivation so that he can never reach a level that can threaten yun che. Not merciless enough man

      1. Hehehe, I think this development is utter bullshit and unreasonable as hell, the only reason that he didn’t at least cripple this guys cultivation is because… THE ALMIGHTY GOD AUTHOR… It just doesn’t conform with his personality, it’s forced and unnatural… But I have to agree with what you’re saying, no matter what happens, it will all amount to nothing and people he’s close to might get grievously injured, but they will never die, so might as well ignore this juechen guy and stop being pissed about it, and just speed-skim through any text that has something to do with him.

Oh, and seems that the 7.7 million he killed in a single day was really just a small part of it all. He must’ve killed far over 10million people in total, perhaps 20 or 30 million.

  11. uh oh, we officially now have a dagger that is readily placed behind yun che.
I guess the author has other plans, for juechen. Otherwise, the normal yun che would’ve explained to his aunty that if he were to leave behind one surviving person, that person could threaten his and his love ones’ future. So if she is fine with the consequences then he’ll promise her that he will let juechen go.

  12. Thanks for the chapter…

It is amusing to see how people apply their own sense of justice, when it is clear as day that life is all about power. Even in this modern society. Don’t be a hypocrite, and just continue and wait for chapter releases.

  13. thank you for the chapter!
if this “destroy burning heaven” arc doesnt end with this chapter i will drop this novel…
the same way i dropped mga =(

  14. Andhere is the reason little aunt will die, okay he save you buthe put out into this situation andsore the only end would be with mc dear, real smart little aunt real smart

  15. I’m not understanding this. Why not kill him then just say that he tried to fight you with the whole group and you killed him with an AOE attack by accident? Like…its not that big of a deal.

Also this. The hell? Do that from the beginning.

    Thanks for the chapter.

  16. Hope one of Yun Che’s important people starts to hate him because of this and that he gets put on a wanted list because he definitely went to far here. That would be both logical and give the story a nice twist.

He is by no means any better than any of the “villains” of the novel and is rally hypocritic about his standards. It’s pretty bullshit how the divine spirits keep pestering about how he’s actually a good person because he’s clearly not by any standards of the book.

Being ruthless is one thing but this is way beyond that and can only really be considered cruel. Doing it to avoid future trouble is also clearly BS considering he left the most dangerous one alive.

  17. As for the possible consequences, he was willing to completely shoulder them!

Hah, seems like there will be a powerful enemy in the future that gained some weird power-up. Well, we all know that this guy is going to die sooner or later, he will likely attempt to kill the mc and it will be some kind of desperate battle and then he will die… Boring development, just kill the bastard and tell little aunt you let him go. This is a gigantic flag that screams out that someone, either his wives or relatives, will get hurt real badly and since he’s interested in little aunt, it might be her. Never leave someone like this alive after amassing such a huge grudge. Is this really necessary? It’s not an interesting development at all, it’s over-used and dull.
