Allsnake Curse

“A.I. Chip, conduct a full body scan!” Leylin commanded. He had just escaped from the Snake Dowager’s dream.

The Dowager was an existence that surpassed rank 7, and her power exceeded the limitations set by worlds. She could cross world borders and attack through Dreamscape, a strength that was unimaginable for Leylin.

When dealing with someone like her, it wouldn’t hurt to be cautious. Hence, thorough checks were a necessary thing.

[Mission established. Beginning scanning procedures. Atomic microscope has been authorised, beginning scan…] Large amounts of blue light scanned every region of Leylin’s body after the A.I. Chip sounded, the images resolved to the cellular level. The atomic microscope scanned everything. The blue light took the form of countless threads that swept through him.

[Skeleton normal. Internal organs normal. Scanning bloodline and sea of consciousness…] Leylin looked rather calm, but when the A.I. Chip’s rays scanned his blood and sea of consciousness his expression changed.

Tiny black runes wiggled out from the surface of his body, and after they emerged Leylin felt the blood circulation in his body abruptly speed up tenfold! The increase in blood flow caused his face to flush, and fine blood appeared deep inside his pores.

The black runes crawled to his forehead, forming the image of a little black snake. Around this snake was a ring of tiny pointed runes, resembling chains and a cage that kept the snake within.

“What’s going on?” Leylin felt the bloodline force in his body show signs of going berserk, and the rune on his forehead began to exert more strength. It was restraining him!

His bloodline force was rebelling against its owner, and restraining him. It sounded like a joke, but Leylin did not find it funny at all.

“Quiet down. Innate spell of control!” Leylin exclaimed.

*Hss—* The terrifying image of a Kemoyin Emperor appeared behind him. Currently, the phantom was encircled and bound by a circle of black chains as well. The massive Kemoyin Emperor hissed and roared, but it had no effect on the bindings.

There were even sharp barbs on the chains, and they pierced through his scales into his flesh. The intense pain was transmitted directly to Leylin’s truesoul.

*HSS—* The Kemoyin Emperor roared again, but this one seemed very feeble. Still, the will of a rank 5 ruler could somewhat control the rebellion of the bloodline force, and allowed the odd phenomenon in his body to calm down.

“What is this?” Feeling the binding rune on his forehead absorbing his bloodline force on top of suppressing him, Leylin’s expression grew grim.

He’d already guessed that this was something left behind by the Snake Dowager. She was someone who exceeded rank 7, an existence that had grasped laws. Even though she had been careless enough to let him escape, she still had enough time to leave something behind. As the source of Leylin’s bloodline, manipulating his bloodline force slightly was a simple task for her.

‘The rebellion of bloodline force… All those who walk on the path of bloodlines will eventually be shackled by the very bloodline itself…’ For some reason, Leylin suddenly recalled the time when he’d first obtained Kemoyin’s Pupil, more specifically the inscription by Great Magus Serholm.

[Beep! Host has been struck with an unknown curse. All stats decreasing.] The warning from the A.I. Chip was bright red, showing the urgency of the situation.

“Show me the information!” Leylin grew grim as he felt the weakening of his body. The rebellion of the bloodline force as well as the suppression of a portion of his strength made him feel unprecedented weakness.

‘I was too careless before! Strength that depends on a bloodline might be very useful initially, but there are going to be some hidden dangers no matter what. If not for my bloodline having evolved to the Kemoyin Emperor and having gained some degree of independence, this mark could very well have caused me to lose all my strength and become subject to the whims of the Snake Dowager!’ Leylin’s expression was incomparably dark.

[Leylin Farlier. Rank 5 Warlock. Bloodline: Giant Kemoyin Serpent (Complete form). Strength: 45 (76), Agility: 40 (62), Vitality: 100 (176.9), Spiritual force: 1013.5 (2003.5), Magic power: 1013 (Magic power is in synchronisation with spiritual force). Soul force: 101 (200). Condition: Weakened by curse, stats lowering on all fronts. Currently at New Moon, future undetermined.]

Leylin now looked worse. These stats pulled him down to the level of one who had just stepped into Radiant Moon.

Though it had only been a short period of time, the curse had lowered his strength by about half, and there was a possibility of worsening.

Leylin looked at the ‘future undetermined’ in his status screen, and his voice was icy as he asked, “What does ‘future undetermined mean?’

[Based on evaluation of model, the curse will continuously absorb the host’s bloodline and increase its capabilities. The host’s stats are set to continue to decrease, and there is a possibility of a permanent drop in rank.]

The A.I. Chip quickly answered him, but Leylin had nothing to rejoice over.

“Decrease? To what extent?”

[Unknown. Possibility exists of a complete loss of bloodline force.] The conclusion given by the A.I. Chip caused Leylin’s expression to grow even more serious.

‘Is it the bloodline shackles or a backlash? Or is this something the Snake Dowager chains her younger generations with?’ In an instant, Leylin’s mind came up with many possibilities.

This force was evidently linked to his bloodline force, and the closeness far exceeded Leylin’s expectations. In order to go further on the path of a Warlock, one would need to be modified by bloodline force, which was why it equated his own power.

However, when the Snake Dowager became hostile, Leylin finally knew the terror of the incomparably tame bloodline force when it rebelled.

Debts had to be repaid. Bloodline Warlocks relied on their bloodline force to amplify their progress, and be it in rate of advancement or battle strength, they exceeded their peers at the same rank. However, they were restricted by bloodline shackles, and once one met the source of their bloodline there was no way to fight back against them.

No. They, whose souls fused with the source of their bloodlines, would not even have thoughts of rebellion!

Leylin was sure that if Gilbert or any other Kemoyin Warlock was in his position, they would not even resist the Snake Dowager. Their wills were all subservient to her. This control extended past their bloodlines and into their souls. This was a powerful manipulation of souls! Unless one changed the soul, it was impossible to eliminate any influences.

‘Hehe… Once I have the intention of rebelling against you, you strike me down and make me a regular human? How overbearing!’ Leylin stroked his chin and suddenly began to laugh coldly.

‘But I will never let anyone take control of my freedom. Bloodline force? It’s my bloodline, and even though it originates from the Giant Kemoyin Serpent, it’s been altered and refined by the A.I. Chip. I even had it automatically evolve to become a Kemoyin Emperor, you can’t control me so easily…’

[A similar record has been found in the database] the A.I. Chip intoned at this moment. With the accumulation of knowledge from Sky City and the Warlock Union, the A.I. Chip could be said to be a museum of the Magus World. No matter how rare and obscure a topic was, information could be found about it.

[Allsnake Curse: The Snake Dowager of the Shadow World has supreme control over all of her progeny. This is a blessing and also a curse, one condensed with bloodline force. Once a descendant has thoughts of disobeying the will of the Snake Dowager, the Allsnake Curse will appear and automatically absorb as well as seal off the descendant’s bloodline force, turning into the most powerful bloodline curse. Effect: Continuous weakening of power of Warlock, until target’s death.]

There was also a projection of an image beside this introduction, and it was a carbon copy of the one on Leylin’s forehead.

“Till death? I like it!” Leylin snickered, “A.I. Chip, based on this rate, how much time do I have left?”

[Beep! Based on current situation, host will fall from Radiant Moon in 26 hours, and in 267 hours lose Morning Star strength. 312 hours later, bloodline force will be completely lost and host will become a regular human.]

The complicated calculations were completed by the A.I. Chip in an instant, giving him a conclusion. “It’s too rushed. Is there anyway to slow the process?”

With its massive calculative ability, Leylin was given an answer. [Host can suppress their own bloodline force and seal off their Radiant Moon strength. Such a situation can easily extend the period by three years in tandem with the Medusa’s Gaze potion.]

The Allsnake Curse was a curse that absorbed his bloodline force, which was why sealing his own strength would slow the effects of the curse temporarily.

Leylin nodded, but suddenly froze.

“Sealing off my Radiant Moon strength means I’ll be able to maintain this condition for three years, but I can’t use any strength at rank 5. In that case, if I were to meet a powerful enemy…” Leylin knew fully well that the more he used his own power, the closer he was pushing himself to death.

However, his enemies would not let him off so easily, especially the Snake Dowager. With the attacks from Dreamscape, he’d been forced to run for his life constantly, and this situation would force him to use his bloodline force. He had then suffered the backlash from the Allsnake Curse, which was probably her intention.

“In that case, she definitely won’t give up after one attack!” Leylin’s pupils shrank abruptly.

“Hss—” At the moment these thoughts emerged, his truesoul was distracted as he entered Dreamscape once more.

A terrifying gigantic white snake was spitting out its tongue, its gaze of one looking at a dead man.

    1. [A similar record has been found in the database]
[Allsnake Curse: The Snake Dowager of the Shadow World has supreme control over all of her progeny. This is a blessing and also a curse, one condensed with bloodline force. So he had the information on the curse already in his AI chip’s database? So in other words, he should have used this information to prepare beforehand. I think it’s incredibly newby that he had the knowledge of such a curse in his database but didn’t personally know of it so he was caught off guard by the snake dowager and got cursed. What’s the point of putting that information into your database if you didn’t even use it to prevent yourself from getting cursed?

At the very least, he shouldn’t have been completely in the dark about the curse if it was saved in his database. The snake dowager is his greatest enemy and you’d think that makes knowing her abilities a top priority and yet he had information on this curse tucked away in his database.

      1. You know that leylin is always busy to improve his cultivation to prepare for the snake dowager. besides how can he stop a curse from someone who fully comprehended laws? he didnt even know that the snake dowager would immediately give a big importance to him and visit him suddenly. Leylin is just prioritizing whats important at the moment, and he cannot be busy or prepare anything, or else he wouldnt have progressed at all.

        1. ” besides how can he stop a curse from someone who fully comprehended laws”

That isn’t your job to worry about, it’s the authors. The MC casually threw some stuff together and a f**king portal to dreamscape appeared in the middle of his laboratory, you aren’t giving him enough credit. If he knew that the snake dowager could curse his entire bloodline then he’d think of some sort of method to counter it. It might not have been perfect but it would have something, rather then being completely unaware of the curse even though it was in his f**king database.

“he didnt even know that the snake dowager would immediately give a big importance to him ”

He knew that she was paying attention to him the moment he advanced to rank 5, he should have long since been preparing for her to attack him, especially if there was information in his database of her being able to curse his entire bloodline.

” Leylin is just prioritizing whats important at the moment, and he cannot be busy or prepare anything, or else he wouldnt have progressed at all.”

Again, that’s not for you to say. And that doesn’t make any sense, are you saying that someone who is an existence above rank 7 and has the ability to curse his entire bloodline isn’t a priority? And what you said about him not being able to prioritize everything is completely false, Leylin has the AI chip and he can give it the job and that’s that. he doesn’t have to do any work whatsoever and all he has to do is wait for the results.

          1. So he knows that there is a curse that the snake dowager can cast, which is based on laws and it will continuously weaken him till his death. What exactly is he supposed to do with this information given he basically has no understanding of laws?
This is like saying, in the 18th century, that there is a disease called Leprosy which will make you insensitive to pain, loss of extremities and make you extremely ugly, without giving them anything to work with. Also, it is caused by microbes.
Leylin knows that there is such a thing, but he doesn’t know how it works, except that it works with laws. In the leprosy case, you know it happens because of microbes. Except, you have no clue how microbes work, and you can’t study it because you lack the means to do so.
So, it makes perfect sense for Leylin to have no defense against it.

          2. you are right tablelamp…the leylin with the AI chip is not a f**king GOD (not yet). like I said why would he prepare for a curse that may never come. and although leylin knows that the dowager noticed him he was caught off guard because who can even expect that the f**king snake queen would immediately teleport on his f**king face. leylin is actually preparing for a confrontation but thats for the future thats the reason why he gives more importance on his cultivation and strenght. i bet you didnt even expect that she would do that.

          3. “leylin with the AI chip is not a f**king GOD”

Bullshit. The AI chip can do whatever the author says it can do. You don’t get to decide what the limits of the AI chip are. Besides, the AI chip has already done calculations in the background numerous times in the series so you either started reading halfway through or have an extremely poor ability to recollect past events.

“like I said why would he prepare for a curse that may never come.”

THe curse was 100% going to come, LIKE I SAID Leylin has already know for a long time that the snake dowager was going to assault him at some point, it was only a matter of time.

“because who can even expect that the f**king snake queen would immediately teleport on his f**king face”

It’s called being prepared for the unexpected. Don’t expect to live long in a world inhabited with magic without doing so.

“leylin is actually preparing for a confrontation but thats for the future thats the reason why he gives more importance on his cultivation and strenght.”

No, absolutely no. Leylin is a paranoid motherf**ker that where’s four coats when he goes outside during the winter. He ALWAYS thinks ahead of time and doesn’t do anything that doesn’t have a 90%+ chance of success.

And again, who the f**k are you to keep making false claims about Leylin’s behavior and false claims about what the AI chip can and can’t do, you aren’t the f**king author. Just because you say something about the story doesn’t make it true.

” i bet you didnt even expect that she would do that.”

Yea, I did. There was ample forshadowing in the story showing us that the snake dowager was going to make a move on Leylin. Again, it was only a matter of time. Even Leylin recognized this. If you refuse to accept that the snake dowager attacking Leylin was set in stone then I don’t know what else to say.

          4. [Warning: rank 6 spell detected! Spell in database labled: super salty people. Recommendation: avoid infected lifeforms at all costs!]

          5. [Warning: Rank 9 spell detected! Power: 9000! A lot of exclamation points! Please keep a distance of 100 kilometers away!]

          6. @semperambroscus are you an idiot or not? The information is in A.I chip database! Its simple i’ll ask you, You know all the information stored in your computer?. That’s why he saved it on A.I chip to save it, it doesn’t mean that you save it, you will remember it.

    1. You do know that 666 is a “typo”.
Originally the number of the beast is 616, and was mistranslated centuries ago by scholars who misread the original script.

This is not an “ominous chapter number”.

          1. It’s so appropriate too, considering Leylin just got handed a giant ‘Permission to Die’ medal.

    1. I agree! This is one of the moist exciting part; what could be better than exploiting Leylin’s weakness? This is truly challenging because we (or I) don’t know where this will lead as Leylin used all his cards author revealed to us.

  1. Woah…
    Thanks….
I think because leylin retaliate agains snake dowager, the snake dowager will sent her another descendant to catch or kill linley…

    1. Well, your probably trying to say “Leylin”….because if you’re talking about “Linley” then snake dowage would probably be dead without leaving a single speck….Linley has after all, already became LinMeng…

  2. Why do i kinda get the feeling that by the end of this story Leylin will end up with Snake Goddess chick? Or perhaps just my wishful thinking.

  3. Hi guys,

Its been months since i last read this novel. Chapter 300++ where he’s in the Twilight Zone, i think about to battle the dark elves.

I’ve reluctant to continue mainly because the story doesn’t seem to have a bigger purpose (You know something like he’s destined to save the world). So the plot of becoming stronger (but for what?) seems dull to me. Also didn’t notice any foreshadowing that can hook up my interest. I guess the only thing i like is the AI chip mechanics.

So can i expect something more in the story progress? A turning point where things get interesting? Plot twist (on his life purpose) maybe?

    Thanks in advance

    1. Hmmm…
I think the reason is leylin want to solve the mysteries of the uniserve like rank between magi, or the bloodline…
For the plot twist, i think there are more in the future chapter…

    2. His purpose is finding out all the mysteries his world has to offer, and becoming immortal.
The former one was clear from the beginning, but I don’t know how or when did the latter one appear…
But I hope that this answers your question.
Also, his life is full of plotwists, and the story doesn’t get stuck on merely his goals.

    3. Leylin’s goal as opposed to most main characters is to become immortal and all powerfull simply for the sake of power; he would see the world destroyed if that would achieve his goals, that’s why he is my favorite main character.

      1. I think it is necesary to point tht Leylin isn’t really a villane character either. He helps people he is fond of if it doesn’t bring him harm, he doesn’t go around killing and destroying just because of a whim nor he does for small profits either. Most of the people he has killed or tricked were ones who tried to kill him or schemed agains him first, thought it is true that he has once killed some good guys for a big profit.

    4. I can understand why you wouldn’t think much of the plot if what you seek is universe saving moral mc’s

This one is not at all like that. It’s about this one power hungry guy who is selfish and will sacrifice everyone else to become immortal. Personally I find it more interesting than so many other novels in which the mc is supposedly moral, but are actually hypocritical if you actually think about it.

    5. I wont touch of his personality/moral.. It’s what defines a character.
I just strongly think that becoming strongest is a mean, not a purpose.

Maybe some fitting examples are “Conquer the world”, “Trample upon all living creature”, “For the glory!”, “To survive”.

It’s like if I ask: “Why do you seek on becoming strongest?”.
Leylin: “I just felt like it.”

      1. Not sure how one gets to chapter 300 while not understanding the MC’s motivations. Almost since the very beginning it was clearly stated that Leylin was a scientist, and thus he shares the ultimate goal of all scientists; The truth!

Leylin’s ULTIMATE GOAL is to be able to answer “No” to the question:
“Are there still mysteries in the universe you do not understand?”.
However unlocking all the secrets of the Magus World (and all other worlds) would take a virtually infinite amount of time, hence greater power and immortality are only the means to the Ultimate Truth. Great power is naturally required to overcome obstacles that bar your path to the truth, like
        pesky Snake Dowagers.

        1. Ouch.. hurt to be scolded. Haha

I did notice the “unlocking the secret/pursuing the truth” purpose. But so far I feel the story doesn’t really emphasize that purpose (or maybe i just missed it). Seems like other than getting stronger for survival/overcome problems, other times he just went experimenting for fun.

Or maybe the ultimate goal wasn’t really a norm, that’s why I overlook.

Anyway thanks guys for the feedback. Seems I can expect more & continue this story =D

    6. If i remember correctly he wants to pursue all mysteries in the magus universe (just like any sane scientist would do given the second chance) thus his end goal is to be immortal since its possible.

    7. From 300 to 600, its mostly buildup. Its from 600 that the actual story starts progressing. Just stick through it would be my advice, its worth it.

  4. “𝐨𝐨𝐡 𝐰𝐞’𝐫𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝟔𝟔𝟔”
𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐠𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐚 𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐧,
    𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐫 (𝐀𝐥𝐥𝐬𝐧𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐂𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞)

  5. Popping out of nowhere here. I’ve never read Warlock of the Magus World. Quick question… I heard he experiments on slaves. Did he capture those slaves or buy them?

    Thanks

    1. Don’t know why it matters enought to you to ask that instade of just read, but Leylin had never captured a slave himself, he only has bought slaves two times in the first 300 chapter and most of them have lived the rest of their lives in peace somewhere. Still, the story has never been about slaves so there are not much about them.

    2. In any case, slaves are almost completely useless to higher ranked magi unless they are of the same rank. And making slaves of higher ranked magi (above lvl 3) is frowned upon. It might even cause the other similar ranked magi to become hostile. So, only remaining good reason would be to have them as sex slaves or experimental subjects. He already has Freya who is basically his slave, as he is the emperor and experiments on lower ranked magi wouldn’t be worth much. So, no slaves who comes into the big picture later on.

      1. I think calling Freya a slave is too much. She is his wife. True, she is willing to do what ever Leylin ask her without question, but regardless of the multiple reason she is still willing. She also has a big position in the clan and a slave doesn’t have position, hers gives her a power in the clan just barely lower than the dukes but it is almost the same as them, once she become a morning start her influence will be even bigger than the other dukes to the point that she could be called the queen of the entire clan.

        1. No, I’m not saying that she is, in the general sense a slave. However, due to him being the snake emperor, every magi of the Giant Kemoyin(did I spell that right?) blood lineage is bound by his will. None of them, including Freya can disobey him, even if given extreme orders such as to kill themselves. Therefore, they are all effectively his slaves including Freya ,Gilbert and Emma, albeit with difference in level of the power hierarchy they belong to.

  6. Thanks for the chapter.
Damn, this chaspter is too fitting of it’s number xD. Seems to me like it’s only option is to reach a compromise with the Snake Dowager or something that seal not only his radian moon power but also keeps him away from the dreamscape.

    1. yeah. As I’ve always said, OMA and team knows very well how and when to release their chapters (this was 669 on MTL)… They’ve planned this too well.

  7. Am I the only one who likes the machine-translation name of “Mother of ten thousand snakes” better than “Snake dowager” ? The curse name turns into “Ten thousand snakes curse” (arguably better than “Allsnake”).

Maybe “Mother of all snakes” or “Mother of snakes” would fit as well.

A dowager is “a widow with a title or property derived from her late husband”, which doesn’t seem to really fit.

    1. Me as well. The Ten Thousand Snakes Curse sounds far better. And ‘Snake Dowager’ makes me think of a withered old woman in Chinese royalty clothes. Ugh.

    2. I agree about the name, but “Mother of all snakes” doesn’t exactly roll off the tongue. Perhaps “Serpent Progenitress” may work better as a title which doesn’t appear as awkward in text.

    3. Hello Hello!

About the names chosen for both the snake dowager and the curse, it’s one of the many sacrifices we editors have to make in order to have something make sense without losing too much of the “roots”.
Now, both of those names would be too long for the amount of times they’ll be used ( the Snake dowager has been talked about a lot and I’ll tell you now that the curse will also be mentioned n times in the future).
As such, there was a need to shortening them to more simple names.
      Explanation time now:
A dowager is basically, as you said, a widow of someone wealthy/powerful. The ttitle queen dowager ( or queen mother- see where this is going ? ) is also commonly used even today as a title for the widow of a king… this was the most fitting name simply because, as I’m pretty sure everyone knows, a widow is a mother ( as long as they have children ).
Now, as for the curse, it was, again, a sacrifice between readability and fidelity to the LN.
The original name translates to “Curse Mark of Ten Thousand Snakes”, this is simply too long.
A myriad of names could’ve been chosen, but in this case, the “Ten Thousand” had the intended meaning of “all”, as in, every single snake would be affected.
We didn’t want to change the name a lot ( for example to Bloodline Essence Curse or Snake Blood Curse or 10k Snake Curse – last one for obvious reasons xD) because the meaning is that it affects ALL snakes.
And yes, we also agree that it doesn’t exactly sound good; again, we apologise but it’s one of the choices we do.
We hope you enjoy the translations.

  8. Instead of getting down on your knees and wishing the MC you send attacks and curses!

  9. So it’s gonna be like Pokemon now? Leylin will be walking casually when suddenly:
    “A wild SNAKE DOWAGER appeared”
    “What will you do?”
    “RUN PRAY
    RUN RUN”

    Thanks for the chapter!

Edit: Oh, so it’s not her directly, welp, that at least gives him a chance. :T

  10. NICE!!!!, I kinda want him to speed up the curse and remove the curse then, with the AI chip make his own, and by doing this he might slip through the power of the dowager.
