I’m proud to be able to host a new translation project here are wuxiaworld, Dragon King with Seven Stars by Gu Long. This is a classic wuxia story with lots of mysteries and plot twists. The basic story revolves around the disappearance or death of multiple figures in Jianghu. Later I will post a basic plot synopsis, although I won’t reveal to much, because the unraveling of the mystery is the best part of this story. As with my other translations, I include a lot of footnotes for anyone not very familiar with Chinese history and culture.
It’s 25 chapters in total, and I hope to finish before this winter. Sorry, I’m not as fast as some of the other translators, but I will do my best to keep the updates coming quickly. Gu Long breaks the chapters down into multiple parts, which I release one or two at a time over at spcnet. Once all parts of a chapter have been completed, I will post it here. If you want to read update by update, you can visit the translation thread at spcnet. I usually post between two to four updates per week, and it usually takes about a week or week and a half to finish a chapter.
In other news, I’m also currently editing my translation of Heroes Sheds No Tears, which still ranks as my favorite among my four translations, and contains what some readers claimed is the best villain to appear in all of Gu Long’s works. I’m making a lot of changes to the text, not in the content, but in the English. The new version flows much better than the old one, so I’m excited for the re-release. When I’m finished editing, I will post the complete novel here, which I hope will be in a week or two.
